Overall great experience at the house, there was 6 of us staying for the weekend. Housekeeper is great and she helps out if you need anything, I didn't meet the host. You can't beat the location it's close to everything. We walked home at night and we didn't have any issues. The bedrooms were spacious, there was a bathrooom in each one and the garden was great. There is no common space and the kitchen only fits a few chairs around the small table. Security wise I felt a bit unsafe as I don't know how many times the code on the door is changed and you cannot lock it from the inside. However there are locks on each door to the bedrooms.

Unfortunately we did not meet Linda during our stay. This location was nearly perfect! It was simply walking distance away from the mall, grocery stores, and convenient stores. However, this listing is also directly across the street from a park, which is home to many homeless people. Although there were no incidents, not being from Toronto lead me to feel slightly uncomfortable with leaving my vehicle on the street. Parking is also somewhat of an hassle at this listing. I paid for parking on the street and also at the lot walking distance from the location. Myself, as well as another guest received parking tickets even though we paid at the meter and had our receipt displayed in our vehicles' dashboard (still unsure what the tix is for). It's probably easiest to pay for parking at the lot for however many days you will be there instead of parking across the street. Although we did not cook during our stay, it was nice to have pots, pans, and condiments if we desired to do so. The bag of Ice in the freezer was perfect. Very little natural light in this unit. While this unit is nice, the pictures are somewhat deceptive. This listing worked perfectly for us because we had a group of 7 men in town for Bachelor party festivities, which mean we spent the majority of our time out of the home sleeping This unit was not as clean as we would have liked, but it sufficed for the 3 days we spent there, very muggy. In one shower, there was a small pile of long-stranded hair stuck to the shower floor. However the bathrooms are nicely updated. I think if you are simply using this listing for mostly sleeping and bathing purposes, it's perfect! But considering the number of beds, this unit is not great for socializing due to the lack of seating areas outside of the actual beds. I would stay in this unit again but not without seeking alternative options first. The camera in the kitchen caught me by surprise when I first seen it.

Our group of 6 women arrived late (10:00 PM) to find a housekeeper waiting to let us in. We'd asked for the lockbox code, but it wasn't emailed to us until the day AFTER we arrived. We went to bed, but in the wee hours of the morning the doorbell rang repeated. It was a couple whose flight had been delayed, had arrived in a taxi (which they'd let go) and had reservations for one of the downstairs apartments. We gave them the phone number of the owner, but heard later that they didn't get into their rented room. Two nights later our doorbell rang at 11:30. It was the people renting the downstairs apartment who couldn't get in to their place. There seems to be a general lack of oversight on the part of the owners. Other than the dirty walls, stained rugs and general shabbiness, our main complaint was the lack of a comfortable place to sit and talk. The photos show a sofa and a fire place in what could be a living room. Instead there was a dinning table, 6 wobbly chairs in a room that contained the refrigerator and very low wattage overhead lights. On the plus side the location was GREAT. It was very easy walking distance to everything. Our cab driver had warned us against walking in the neighborhood at night, but in the day time it was perfectly fine.

Linda responded promptly to emails and the caretaker was friendly and informative at checkin (I never met Linda personally). The rooms were spacious, on-street parking available (for $24/wk), and the kitchen utensils, pots, etc. adequate. However, the overall cleanliness of the rooms and common spaces was lacking. The floors needed a deep cleaning and vacuum, the kitchen was only surface cleaned (the drawers were dirty on the inside), and the walls had significant scratches and blemishes. We found the temperature a little below ideal in some rooms at night, it was around freezing outside when we visited and the thermostat was behind a locked box. The one space heater did not help the people in other rooms who were cold. However in fairness we did not ask that the furnace be turned up or for an extra heater. We did not use the patio. Overall it was convenient to the conference location, the number of beds and bathrooms ideal, and the price was right for a group. If you will be spending most of your time away from your rooms, it was an adequate place to stay.

The house is located very close to the Eaton Centre, Union Station, etc which made it easy to get everywhere. However, the neighbourhood is a bit sketchy. The house has lots a beds for guests and they were comfortable and clean but the general condition and cleanliness of the house needs considerable improvement (walls were dirty, drink spills, showers had hair in them, etc). Also we were told upon checkin that we were not allowed to cook in the kitchen, which was our primary reason for renting a house and not a hotel. Although we did not feel the description and photos accurately portrayed the condition of the house (if the house had been completely renovated in 2011, it was not done well), and were disappointed, we made it work. The owner does respond quickly to any messages that you send her and the caretaker did not rush our checkout.

Heritage house was just as advertised. Bedrooms were clean and made up, the house was right downtown, and we were walking distance from the Hockey Hall of Fame which was the purpose of our visit. We had brunch at a great spot called the George Street Diner across the park, and while some people reported that the neighborhood was sketchy, that wasn't our experience. If you're familiar with NYC, the hood felt like Greenpoint, in Brooklyn. The kitchen was sparse, but functional. Seeing as all we used it for was breakfast and late night snacks, it was perfect. Thanks to Linda for being a great host.
