Check In
  • I travelled to Brooklyn last year and stayed at this apartment. It was fantastic! This year I was travelling with a few more people, so we rented both this apartment, and the one next door. Jessie made it super easy to plan, and really I have nothing to complain about whatsoever. We had clean towels and linens...we were a simple bunch and didn't need much! We didn't use it, but there's a full kitchen, so if you wanted to cook, it's definitely an option.

As for transit, we used bikes this year, and it was an easy location to get to/from. Last year we used the metro a few times...the stop is only a few minutes walking. Great location!

I will always check this place before staying anywhere else in the city!

  • We had a great stay in this nice and spacious flat. We absolutely loved the cool neighbourhood. The place was perfectly suitable to the four of us. We appreciate a lot that Jessie was very flexible with check in and out times.
It was a pitty that we hadn't more time to enjoy the rooftop view and the other advantages the flat offers.

  • Nice apartment in a quiet, safe suburb. Clean and big enough for 4 to 5 people. Very comfortable beds in a shared bedroom downstairs. The kitchen has the basic, no more no less, but there is no smoke extractor, so if you cook, the apartment needs to be ventilated afterwards.
The only thing "but" is that we had to wait a bit too long to get the keys the day of our arrival.

  • We stayed in Jessie's apartment for a week - it's beautiful and spacious, and in a great location to explore Manhattan. There is a metro station a few blocks away and a cafe just on the corner. The beds were comfortable, and Jessie kindly provided an air mattress for a fourth person. Netflix was a nice bonus! I'd love to stay here again.

  • Our trip was awesome we got delayed in our plane but Jessie left us very precise instructions so we got no problem at all to get to the apartment. The apartment is just like the pictures, we had everything we need already set up there so the first night we just grab some dinner nearby and went to sleep. Outside was freezing and although the heaters were running it's difficult to keep warm all the place. Inside the bed it was really warm the bedclothes are awesome and had very pleasant sleep.

The surroundings are very cool, the neighborhood is not unsafe at all and have some places to grab some food (I strongly recommend Sakura Tokyo in Nostrand Av. and a coffee just in the apartment corner) or to buy groceries.

So if I come back to NY Jessie's apartment will definitely my first option.

  • Jessie is a wonderful host and her apartment is amazing!

This was my second time staying at Jessie's and like the first, it was a pleasure being there. Jessie's apartment is lovely and spacious across two floors (the main floor is a lovely sized living room and kitchenette, with a nice size bathroom/shower room. And downstairs is a huge bedroom space with three beds (2 singles and one double)) and a small Netflix enabled TV. The original brick wall features, metal spiral staircase and exposed beams give the entire apartment a real New York/Brooklyn feel).

Access to the keys was easy and Jessie was on hand and extremely attentive. We had a very minor issue with a leaky roof but it wasn't anybody's fault (it rained heavily the day/night before) and once informed Jessie had the landlord come over and fix it - it didn't disrupt our time or stay one bit!

The apartment is situated in a cool neighbourhood with loads of shops surrounding it (and a few nice bars if you explore a bit!) - it has a wonderful Japanese/Thai place right opposite which we ate at one night during a night off from sightseeing and shopping.

The apartment is about 2 short blocks away from Franklin Av station which is on the C Line, that takes you directly into Manhattan in about 25 minutes. An extremely easy journey which we did every day very happily. I generally prefer to in Brooklyn than in Manhattan and so this place suits me perfectly.

This place is great for first time New York travellers but I feel is even greater if you've been to the city before. I've been to NYC loads before but sisters who I was traveling with hadn't - and they absolutely loved the neighbourhood.

Whats more - Jessie was very accommodating in dealing with our late departure flight and allowed us to stay at her place until after 12pm (luckily there were no immediate bookings after us!) which helped us A LOT!

All round - a great stay and i'll probably be back!

    Thanks Jessie!

P.s The rooftop and laundry room is to die for!

  • nice flat - fine bagel-coffee shop some minutes away, to get breakfast - great rooftop to enjoy the view.

  • First thing I'd say is don't let what you think you know or what you've been told about Bed-Stuy keep you from staying here.

Bed-Stuy is a quick up and coming neighborhood. Within a few years it will be the new Ft. Green.

We didn't use the TV once the five nights we were there. However, monitor, is a better term for what is in the room and there is not cable in the room. Other than that I think Jessie's description is pretty accurate.

Oh yeah Jessie, very nice and easy to work with. She was flexible with check in and out times and will take the time to go over things about the unit and or the neighborhood if needed.

    Have fun and enjoy!

  • Apartment as described on airbnb, great location close to two metro stations. One train straight into manhattan and local grocery stores made it easy for us to feel comfortable in the local area.
We loved the rooftop view, gym and lounge areas that came with the apartment. Despite a few issues, we felt Jessie was very responsive and popped by on our last day to ensure we left without anything unresolved.
We appreciated Jessie as a host and wish her the best for the future.

I am from Montreal, Quebec. I like to travel a lot. I've been to India, Cambodia, South Africa, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, France, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Holland, England, Croatia, Turkey, Greece, Israel, Italy, Spain, Singapore, Mexico - I think that's it... My top traveling experiences have been spending a month in a tiny village close to Leh Ladakh, which is in the Himalayas in the winter, and moving in with a family in Cambodia for 3 months. Other good ones - summer teaching kayaking on an island called Tioman is Malaysia, and doing a 10 day silent Buddhist meditation in Bodghaya India. I speak French, Hebrew and English. I really love hosting all you travelers in New York. I like helping you eat the food you want to eat and do the things you want to do and help you avoid long lines and bad ideas so don't be shy about asking me anything...
