Description

The space

Check out this incredible apartment and you will not regret it. We have thought of those tiny details that will make your stay worry free. This beautiful and immaculate haven is for those with discerning taste and a high standard of cleanliness. It will comfortably accommodate up to 4 people. With a 97 walk score, everything you might want is close at hand. The apartment is on the lower level of our 1907 home lovingly renovated by my husband and I. It is a fully enclosed apartment with a separate entrance and is completely private and serene. We are conveniently located on a quiet street only one block behind (east) Broadway.

KITCHEN:

-The fully stocked kitchen was lovingly renovated by us very recently with all the comforts to make it easy to cook and clean up. Tea & Coffee are included.

-Amenities include: dishwasher, in unit front load washer/dryer, microwave, oven range, large fridge with ice-maker, espresso/latte machine, toaster plus all the usual things you would expect.

-Dining table seats up to 4 people

LIVING ROOM:

-You will love the open style living space. Kick back on the Italian leather sofa and watch TV or DVDs, or just enjoy the beautiful contemporary surroundings. There is also a stereo radio with line-in input.

-We have provided a collection of books and magazines to help make your stay more cozy and informed.

BEDROOMS:

-Both bedrooms have a queen size bed and brand new furniture. Plenty of storage in the provided closets and dressers. Comfortable mattresses!

-The 1st bedroom has a Queen bed with a memory foam mattress.

-The 2nd bedroom has a Queen bed with memory foam mattress. Also an ironing board and iron are provided in the closet.

BATHROOM:

-The immaculate bathroom is stocked with plenty of clean towels and washcloths. Hairdryer, soap and shampoo included.

Guest access

Private entrance on the side of the home with key box. Access to everything in the apartment.

Interaction with guests

I will personally check you in or you can help yourself and use the lock-box. I am available as much or as little as you please!

The neighborhood

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. With a walk score of 98 our home is just steps away from vibrant Capitol Hill's Broadway District, shops, restaurants, bars, theaters, but you'd never know it from the wonderfully quiet residential street. Capitol Hill is a vibrant community with a number of different business districts, each with their own charms and within easy walking distance. The flagship QFC Grocery Store is just a block away, plus there's a farmer's market on the weekends and just a bit farther the excellent Central Co-op. Both Broadway (1 block away) and John (2 blocks away) are major transit corridors, making getting around via transit very easy from the apartment. You also have easy access to the Broadway Streetcar and the Sound Transit Light Rail. Best of all, it's just a short and enjoyable walk to downtown Seattle, the Convention Center, Pike Place Market, the Seattle Waterfront, Volunteer Park and First Hill. Our Walkscore is 98, which means you should be able to walk to just about anything you'd like to do. However, if you have a car, a Guest Parking Pass is provided as well, which will permit you to park one car in the restricted neighborhood parking zone.

Getting around

For drivers, our home is minutes from I-5 and I-90. There's tons of easy public transportation around - we are within 1 block of 8 different bus lines, and within a few blocks of a handful more. The neighborhood is filled with an array of excellent restaurants, boutiques as well as coffee houses. Walking distance from the major attractions such as Pike Place Market, Space Needle, Volunteer Park, Swedish medical center, South Lake Union, Cal Anderson Park, The Convention Center and Amazon.

Parking is not included in the rate.

Other things to note

We can provide a parking permit that you hang in your car and park anywhere in the vicinity (Broadway not included). The parking permit (for residential parking only) is available upon request with a cash deposit of $80 (fully refundable upon return of permit). Otherwise there are some parking lots near by that do charge fees. Make sure to check posted signs. Parking can be difficult in our area especially during nights, weekends and during special events.

OCCUPANCY

The person making the reservation must be at least 25 years of age. All guests must be at least 25 years of age unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian or have advance written permission.

Reservations are good for the number of guests detailed on your confirmation. Additional charges are incurred when unit occupancy exceeds two (2) adults.

We do not allow "parties" or "events" in our home. With advance notification and approval, you may have a small gathering with friends and family. However, at no time are you allowed to have any kind of party or celebration in the home with more than four (4) guests (the number on your confirmation) without prior WRITTEN permission. People other than those in the Guest Party may not stay overnight at the property.

By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any loss, harm, illness, or injury, arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premises.

Guests are NOT allowed to smoke on the property.

Pets are NOT allowed on the property.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Unlike hotels, we do not have last minute requests every day and thus, have a strict cancellation policy to ensure we are not left with open days on our calendar. If for any reason you anticipate the need to cancel this reservation, please purchase trip or travel insurance to protect yourself.

No refunds of extra person charges for extra guests who do not show.

Receipt of a deposit or payment on this confirmation signifies that you have read and understand the terms of this agreement and the terms of the cancellation policy.

** Trip insurance can be purchased online from various sources at reasonable rates. Simply search Trip Insurance online and you will find many options.

GUEST ACCESS, ARRIVAL and PARKING INFORMATION

Several days prior to your arrival we will forward details for accessing the key safe at the property. If you have reserved a Zone Pass, we will forward additional information at this time. Additional guest information that includes unit features, wifi password, neighborhood resources, restaurant recommendations, and transportation options, can be found in the unit.

If you want to to use our complimentary Zone 4 parking permit ($80 cash security deposit), a reservation is also required.


While we do not require your travel itinerary, it is helpful to know when our guests plan to arrive so we are available to address any questions. We prefer to make arrival arrangements with guests fairly close to their arrival date to avoid confusion, however, if you must have this information sooner, please let us know.


CHECK-IN and CHECK-OUT

Check-in time is 4 PM. Check-out time is 11 AM.

Subject to our reservation calendar, special accommodation for an early check-in or late check-out may be arranged. However, we are not able to make guarantees far in advance of your stay. An early check-in or late check-out typically can be arranged only a couple days prior to your arrival, as the details of other guest reservations may not be known until the last minute.

Scheduling cleaning of the apartment can be a difficult task, so we appreciate knowing the time you plan to leave the property. Because we often coordinate check-in on the same day you check out, assisting with timely departure is appreciated if you have not made alternate arrangements.

Please note that although this agreement comes with the following list of ‘disclaimers’, our goal is to provide guests with exceptional service. We truly appreciate our guests and will do our best to accommodate your stay. We offer this information so that you understand renting a private home is a bit different than renting a hotel, B&B, or guest house, where full time staff is available to assist you.

We maintain our home very well, but as with any home, things can happen at any time. If there are issues with power, cable, internet, plumbing, appliances, etc., that arise during your stay, please understand that it's just part of life and we will address the issue as quickly as possible. We will do our best to have our contractors, utility companies, and others, take care of the issues, but it may cause minor inconvenience if we need to come into the apartment to make repairs. If you need assistance please email or text.

We do not offer refunds for acts or nature, family emergencies, national disasters or national security issues. We strongly suggest that you purchase travel insurance that will cover you for anything that may arise if you have any concerns about any of the above information.

Lastly, please keep in mind that our home is in a residential neighborhood. We ask that you respect our neighbors and we hope they will respect you.

Jamilah was available and helpful at all times during our 10 days' stay! The apartment offers a nice and relaxed (and quiet) atmosphere. It is also situated in a very vibrant and quaint neighborhood, with Seattle downtown a good walking distance away. There is also an awesome food market close by that is open 24/7. I would recommend this place to anyone!

It is the first time (hopefully the last time) I experienced a host that puts profitability, ego and hostile attitude beyond understanding, communication and friendly relationship that airbnb should be about. Never expected anyone to shout profanity at me over the phone and hangs up on me before I can even get an understanding of what's going on during our first call, but it happened. The treatment we received was unfair. We were blamed for a number of things that's never happened and we got no chance to communicate or sort it out. Once any unfounded suspicion arouse from her, she exaggerated what she sees to pressure us into paying extra 10% on top of $3700 we already paid. We were not given chance to dissagree with her decision. We felt judged solely based on her suspicion couldn't have any say. The host threatened us to either pay her or we can see ourself out during the labor day weekend. It's almost impossible to find accommodation the same day during this weekend so we ended up paying $329 more. I didn't feel welcomed there at all. Still in shock by the treatment. Jamilah repeated used her tenure on airbnb as her foundation to assert that she knows much better than me and she doesn't care about making us feel welcomed and it's her business and business only. After being shouted at and hanged up on the first two calls, I asked her to stop calling but she continued to request more payment by calling me. We checked out after the husband (sweet and gentle guy btw) inspected the apartment and told us everything is in great shape and we are good to go. But 2 hours after we were gone, received two calls from the wife telling me that 10 towels were missing and we have to pay up. Quotes from the host: " There's 2 ways to handle this matter: 1. you and your family can move out today with no extra guests fees involved, or.. 2. you accept the changes I made on your airbnb account in regards to extra person(s) staying over for numerous nights/days/hours The matter is closed! " -- when we were threatened to become homeless on labor day weekend 10-days-into-our-stay. "I've doing this for 6 years, I'm a professional at this. Don't you dare question me what I know and how I do things." -- when I made suggestions that what she think she saw might have a different explanation. (example: she see kids with luggages and a uber, she claimed someone unknown is moving in, the fact was kids are moving their luggages from her basement to their dorm that opened that day down the Pike) "I live above the rental and am at home 24/7 because I work from home; ie I see everyone who leaves and enters my home." -- hello privacy

Joe made the booking for his 3 friends to stay with us for 2 weeks. Sadly to say Joe's friends didn't adhere to my house policies about extra guests staying overnight, and so Joe, his friends and I did not part on very good terms. This was not a good experience for all concerned!!

Jamilah was extremely fast to respond to all communication throughout the booking process and stay. The Apartment is a really great use of space on the lower level of a beautiful house is a vibrant neighbourhood. We stayed their with 2 family members while we searched for an apartment before a move to Seattle. This offered a great location that was close to downtown Seattle but also had a great neighboorhood atmosphere with lots of places to eat and drink within walking distance. The place looked like it had never been stayed in before, exceptionally clean and very light and homely - we loved staying there!

Jamilah's garden level apartment is a fantastic spot in the Cap Hill area of Seattle . From the moment the booking was made to the moment we left, Jamilah's communication was prompt and very helpful. The modern finishes of the apartment are very nice and walk-ability to restaurants, coffee shops and bars is perfect. I absolutely recommend this place and I will definitely stay here again.
