A beautiful little cottage , 5 minutes from the lake . When we arrived the oven burned, that was wonderful . And although we were too late ,Paul has warmly welcomed us. The next day, he has helped us with the route planning.
We spent a lovely 3 days at charming cottage. The cottage was equipped was all necessary essentials with a lively friendly dog which my husband thoroughly enjoyed spending time with. The area was extremely peaceful and relaxing with a very short walk to the water. Jill was very welcoming and nothing was a bother to her. We would recommend this cottage to our friends if they were to stay in the area. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
We booked this cottage for 6 days whilst we attended the 'Happy Days' Samuel Beckett Festival in Enniskillen (August 2014)
Paul and Jill responded promptly and helpfully to all our preliminary requests for information. They were also on hand throughout our stay to help if we needed it. They were helpful and efficient hosts.
The cottage was just what we wanted for our stay. It was comfortable, warm, and extremely well equipped. It meant we could easily cook meals and relax with the TV or read. The area is not great for wi-fi access but we learnt to live without constant email!
The location is charming with a lake side jetty just a couple of minutes from the cottage. It felt like a quiet oasis away from the bustle of the city. Yet it was an easy car ride in and out of Enniskillen.
Lastly the cottage was extremely good value
Great wee cosy cottage in a really quiet peaceful area, within a stone's throw of the lake. The hosts were friendly, kind and helpful, and live next door if you need anything. We were there to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and they left a surprise mini bottle of champagne in the fridge to welcome us - really thoughtful. Kitchen is well stocked in terms of equipment but no basic foodstuffs provided so make sure you bring it all with you if you want to cook. Very comfy bed, one of the best I've slept in on my travels. Well-situated to get to a number of great attractions in the area - we enjoyed wonderful walks at Castle Archdale which is really close by, and about a 25 minute drive to the famous Marble Arch Caves and Florence Court. For rainy days there's a cute small 10 bin bowling alley only about 10 minutes drive away in Irvingstown.
Something to note is that the electriciy is on a coin meter - we didn' know this, and got stuck indoors on a really rainy day, so watched a bit of TV when everything went off! We thought there had been a power cut. Luckily the hosts live next door so they let us know then about the meter. It doesn't cost much, but would have been good to have known about it from the beginning of the stay.
We'd definately recommend this place, and the hosts, and would stay again if we're back in the area.
We had a fabulous few days staying at this wonderful cottage. The accommodation was cozy, comfortable and very well equipped. The location is fantastic - 2 minutes away from the peaceful water's edge of Lower Lough Erne, and in close proximity to Castle Archdale for cycling, walking and pony trekking. Jill and Paul were very welcoming and made sure we had a great stay. All in all, we can't wait to go back!
