Rose Cottage was a great place to stay for visiting friends in Drogheda. Padraig was an excellent host, explaining how everything worked and providing us with the most wonderful breads and jams, an unexpected delight! The cottage itself was cosy and warm with everything we needed for our stay. Definitely great value. Thanks again Padraig.
We stayed at Rose Cottage Garden for 2 nights while visiting friends in Drogheda. Padraig met us and made sure we knew how everything worked, where everything was and that we were well fed! There was beautiful homemade bread and jams along with all the essentials which made our stay so much easier. The cottage was comfy, cosy and well looked-after. Padraig was welcoming and a great host- we can't wait to go back!
I'm sure I won't be able to say enough positive things about Padraig's back yard cottage. It was exactly what we were looking for: quiet, self contained, and comfortable. My traveling partner wasn't feeling well for a couple of days so while it poured rain outside we stayed inside, all warm and cosy. There was a great pub only 1km away and Padraig suggested many spots to visit locally and even drew us a perfect map to make sure we could find it all. He and his family were most welcoming and kind, and we were even lucky enough to leave with some of his fantastic homemade jam. If your looking for a place outside of Dublin, near to many sights, and close (30min) to the airport, I would highly recommend the Smith's Rose Cottage.
Padraig was a wonderful host and this cottage was pretty immaculate. Tucked away in a residential neighborhood that's rather modern, it doesn't seem only a ten minute walk to the train station and a couple kilometers away from the town center. Plus, Padraig kindly welcomed us with freshly baked breads and homemade jams, but also drove us to the airport when it was time to leave. Definitely a wonderful stay for our brief, two day visit.
Apartment was warm and cosy and well equipped. Padraig our host was very friendly and his boys even loaned us some of their toys for our smallies. Would definitely recommend.
The Rose Cottage Garden was exactly what we were hoping for -- a nice quiet stay in a lovely private spot. Padraig was extremely welcoming, friendly, and helpful with plenty of suggestions for what to do when we headed out to Galway the next day! Highly recommended.
Padraig is an amazing host, very helpful with everything. He explained us the great things to do in the area, and we had nice talk with him about his country. His jam and Irish coffee are delicious.
The cottage is good for two people.
We hope to come back one day.
