Where you’ll be

Dummerston, Vermont, United States

Dummerston is a rural community 20 minutes North of Brattleboro. There is no public transportation. The population of Dummerston is less than 1,800 and is home to the longest usable covered bridge. The center of Dummerston is a church, grange, firestation and town office building, all located at one four way intersection. The home is located a mile off route 30 on ten acres in a rural neighborhood with dirt roads and country lanes. If your up for adventure the outdoor activities are endless. We offer plenty of places to hike for views of area vistas. You can ride your bike four miles along the West River trail and eat at the Marina Restaurant before heading back. You can visit the Bratttleboro farmer's market on Saturdays or a flea markets and more.
What we don't have is Shopping Malls, Starbucks Walmarts, or home pizza delivers. However, Brattleboro's Main Street offers many charming boutiques and restaurants. You can find some nice outlet stores in Manchester Vermont forty five minutes away North on Route 30.
Places to eat in Brattleboro:
Hazel or Duo’s both have great food. Duo’s is more expensive, daring food, with jazz on Friday evenings. Hazel has some of the best pizza around. Duo’s is on the corner of Main and High while Hazel is on Eliot Street off Main.
Three Stone has great natural Mayan food, it is a small restaurant though so best to reserve. On Canal Street.
Thai Bamboo, on Main Street, has somewhat Americanized Thai food, but is pretty good.
Peter Haven and TJ Buckley are great restaurants if somewhat pricey. Very good food. Both are on Elliot Street.
Vermont Country Deli is a favorite for out of staters. It is near highway exit 2 on Western Ave.
