As much as you want to :) We do use the kitchen! And of course, watch some TV in the living room. We are happy to give you the space you need.
I love where we live because we are super close to the mountains and all the natural beauty of Los Angeles (practically walking distance to some amazing hikes-I'd be happy to show you), but we are still a 10-15 minute drive to Los Feliz, Silverlake, Hollywood, North Hollywood. It's a convenient location! We are also a 5 minute drive to downtown burbank, where there are ton of shops, movies, restaurants and bars!
Yes, there is a bus system two blocks away! :)
I an both pursuing careers in the entertainment industry both in front and behind the camera. My day job is also very creative. I own a photography/videography company and am constantly editing or shooting. I like to watch movies, travel, camp, eat healthy food, hike, train at the gym, and very adventurous.
Interaction with Guests
I interact with guests as much as you want me to. Sometimes, I am super busy on a job so you may not even see me. But if I'm home, I'll be around if you want me too.. share stories, give advice on where to go, whatever you need.
I love Burbank/Northern Glendale. We are close to some awesome hiking trails, but close enough to studios such as Disney, WB, NBC Universal, etc. As a matter of fact, a lot of the guests I have that stay long term, are interns at some of the studios. We are also a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk to downtown burbank where there are tons of restaurants, 3 movie theaters, and the Burbank Town Center Mall. We are also super close to Los Feliz, Atwater Village, Echo Park, and Silverlake.
There is public transportation. There is a bus stop that is only 2 blocks away, however I would highly recommend renting a car in LA, or uber/lyft your way around if you plan on going sightseeing. LA is huge (75 miles) and we are only on one side of it.
Other Things to Note
I am pursuing a career in the entertainment industry(ie Actress, Documentary Filmmaker). My day job is also very creative. I own a photography/videography company and are constantly editing or shooting. I like to watch movies, travel, camp, eat healthy food, hike, train at the gym, and very adventurous.
No Smoking inside the house. We have a backyard and a front yard for that. We expect you to enjoy your stay!!! and have fun! That's what's important. But have a nice place to rest. Feel free to use the kitchen!
My visit at Drea's was very short...about 12 hours total including sleeping. I did meet Drea. She was home when I arrived. I was really nervous about the area because I had never been to LA or north of LA before and when I arrived in Glendale via train from San Diego, I felt like I was in a ghost town and felt uncomfortable at the bus stop to go north to Drea's house, it was a bit sketchy. But after I got off the bus 2 blocks away from Drea's house, it was fine. Drea assured me that the Burbank area is very safe and I was able to go walk to Trader Joe's without issue at night. It was just fine. If you do not have a car, I would suggest taking Drea's suggestion and using Uber or Lyft if you are coming from the train or from LA. The bus only runs every 30 minutes anyway. Once you are at her house you can walk to Trader Joes and Walgreeens and a bunch of restaurants within 5 minutes. And if you walk for about 15 minutes you will be in Downtown Burbank. I ran through there the next morning. It was really neat!
This was my first airbnb experience, and staying at Drea's spot was great. She was super inviting and accommodating, despite my flight getting delayed to relatively late. She helpful too with anything I needed for my stay to be smooth.
The listing itself was just as described- cozy and comfortable! It's in a convenient (safe!) location, with plenty of restaurants within walking distance in either direction. There's a lot to do in the area as well; there's plenty of good hiking trails, the beach isn't too far, and DTLA and Hollywood are pretty close too.
Staying with Drea was a great experience. Felt welcomed into her home, and her place was in a good location close to the highway, grocery store, etc. She also allowed me space in her fridge to store food, and let me use plates/silverware/etc.
Drea is very friendly and easy to talk to, and was very helpful with questions I had about places around town. Would definitely stay with her again if I visit the area in the future.
Drea was extremely helpful, nice, and accommodating. Her home was in a great location close to everything we needed. It's not too bad a drive to Disneyland either :) Drea was such a pleasure- making sure that we had everything we needed to be comfortable.
Drea is really nice and friendly to talk to. She gave us some good tips for our sightseeing tour! The room was cozy and the spot very quiet. I would stay there again.
drea and her place were great. there's a ton of stuff to do and it's all close by. I only saw drea a couple times as she was busy but she made sure everything with our stay went smoothly. her place is really nice and the neighborhood felt very safe. just a heads up, you're prob better off using uber or something like that as it can be difficult to find street parking on the weekend but I never had any major issues. the room itself was very cozy and even with no ac and warm temps, I was actually quite comfortable with the windows open and the fan drea provides. and regarding people complaining about the hot water pressure: make sure to ask drea how to use the shower and you'll have no issue.
About the Host, Drea
I am an actress, documentary filmmaker and photographer. :) I love traveling and discovering the world. I am an avid hiker and adventurer! Some places I have hiked are Machu Picchu, Peru; Banaue Rice Terraces, and Mt Whitney (the highest mountain in the lower 48 states). I love being able to share my experiences with people and I can do that through the pictures and videos that I take.
I also love cooking and trying new foods! Maybe it's my filipino blood that makes me adventurous!
