About This Listing
This charming and cozy bedroom has private on-suite bathroom with jacuzzi tub/shower, walk in closet, cable tv and wireless Internet. It comfortably fits two, is close to the airport and very close to downtown and the beautiful Coastal Trail . This is the perfect place for business travelers!
I think my space is unique because it is modern and comfortable. Most of my guests have commented on how nicely it is decorated, how convenient it is to the airport and downtown. There are many restaurants, coffee places, banking, grocery stores and public transportation within a five minute walk of my front door.
Other than their private bedroom, with on-suite bathroom, and walk in closet. My guests will also have access to the living room, kitchen, main floor bathroom and they can use my washer and dryer if they would like. My guests would also have their own parking space right at the front door.
Interaction with Guests
I can have as much interaction with you as you are comfortable with. If you are a private person and want peace and quiet, I will respect that. I have had a great time with all of my guests this past summer, and I have had the opportunity to get to know some of them. AirB&B has been really fun for me!
The neighborhood is quite and very centrally located. There is a bus stop within a five minute walk, so public transportation is easy. The neighborhood is quiet and close to the Coastal Trail which is beautiful and great for walking and biking. There are many restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, gym, banks and just about anything you might need in close proximity.
There is a city bus stop approximately one block away from my house. It is a very easy five minute walk.
Other Things to Note
My home is three stories, so it has two flights of stairs to climb. I like the exercise it gives me, but I want to let you know in case it may be an issue for you. I do have a cat in the house and she is very friendly and sweet. I do keep her out of your room in case you may have allergy issues. I have had several guests stay this summer with allergies to cats and they have not had any issues.
I do not allow smoking in my house and I expect my guests to treat my home with respect.
Melissa welcomed us to her beautiful home. Everything mentioned in the ad was accurate including the policies, pictures and cleanliness. She even had a ton of brochures for us to look through. Her home is a 10-15 minute cab ride from the airport and 10 minutes from downtown Anchorage. Cabs came within minutes. Great location. Melissa baked us fantastic banana bread and even welcomed us to her yearly bunco night dinner. We enjoyed our stay and getting to know Melissa!
Melissa was a warm and informative host. She baked lovely banana bread and laid out a nice breakfast for us both days. The room and bathroom were comfortable and spotless and her place is located within easy access to the airport. We will stay again if we come to Anchorage!
Melissa truly is a great host she has had experience in the service and street and it clearly shows the room was clean neat and enjoyable to stay in Melissa made me feel at home and I highly recommend this to future travelers who are traveling through Alaska I even had warm banana bread to take with me in the morning
Staying at Melissa's place was one of the best accommodation experiences we have had anywhere. Everything was done to perfection, from the fresh-baked (and home made) banana and walnut cake to the little chocolates left by the bedside. The morning breakfast was sumptuous, the bed extremely comfortable and the room spacious.
Melissa is the perfect host. We arrived really early in the morning after a long and sleepless overnight from Hawaii and she had breakfast laid out for us, even though we weren't supposed to check in until mid-afternoon. Nothing was a bother for her. She was also great to talk to, interesting, entertaining and great company. We would most definitely recommend Melissa's place.
We will be back!!!

Melissa has been a incredible host. She was very flexible with our check-in and check-out time, and provided us great suggestions on where to visit in Anchorage. Plus, she prepared breakfast and there was a wide variety of stuff to choose from, Melissa always asked what we wanted. We were surprised at how good the banana bread tasted! She was also very attentive to keeping Sophie, the cutie cat, out of the room since I was allergic to cat fur, but I did not have any trouble during the stay. The whole apartment is well-decorated and super clean, and the room is just as described - charming and cozy. Everything looked new and of good quality. The apartment is located off the roads, so we didn't hear much from the streets at all. We didn't have a car, but there were several bus stops around, some are within a 2-minute walk, and some are further away. Overall, we've thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and we'd definitely recommend Melissa's, the value is way beyond the price.
With a warm greeting and smile, Melissa helped make us feel right at home on our first airbnb stay! She goes over and above what expectations would be for a fine five star hotel. The bed was very comfortable, the bath had a jacuzzi tub, and everything was new and clean. It is indeed a charming, contemporary and cozy condo in a quiet neighborhood. Melissa was more than accommodating from helping with bags to providing breakfast and a midnight snack, as well as chocolates out by the bed. We had an awesome stay!
Our stay with Melissa was a wonderful introduction to Alaska. She opened her comfortable home to us providing us with all the amenities we needed and was an extremely gracious hostess! Bicycles were our mode of transportation while there and she was perfectly located for us to get anywhere in Anchorage that we wanted to go. We would highly recommend her Airbnb and would consider staying with her again if we return to Anchorage.
Thank you, Susan and Dennis
About the Host, Melissa
I have lived in Anchorage for most of my life. I have moved away a few times but always manage to find my way back here. I have traveled all over the world and have met many interesting people along the way. I would like to meet new people and make friends, so that is why I want to host people in my home.
