Million Dollar view! Stargazer & birdwatcher dream! A furnished bell tent on a bluff a part of a chemical free flower farm! . 1/2 of your private site is in the field, 1/2 in the woods. Fan, lights, private fire pit and deck. Site includes a gas grill. Kayak the surrounding 15,ooo acre wetland preserve. (Kayaks available to rent.) Ask about group rates! No homophobia, transphobia, racism...or KARENS ! This is a queer space but we are hetero friendly.

The space
Your campsite at Black Sheep Flower Farm is a quick walk to Dickson Mounds Museum, a free 3 story museum dedicated to teaching us about life of the Mississippians that occupied the land before us. There is a burial mound on the property that offers a great view of the Spoon & Illinois river flood plains. We offer kayak rental to our guests at a reasonable rate to explore Emiquon (1 mile away) fishing and birding in Emiquon is totally free! The Apple Orchard is 1/4 mile up the road and two wineries are within 2 miles., Big Horse Vineyard, full bar and kitchen, as well as Native Grounds Vineyard with great trails and beautiful landscaping. Remember folks, this is camping!

Where you’ll be

Lewistown, Illinois, United States

No neighbors. Black Sheep Flower Farm borders Emiquon Nature Preserve to the East and Dickson Mounds State Park to the West. The Waterford community is both historic with Dickson Mounds Museum and beautiful with breathtaking views of the Spoon & Illinois River Valley. Over half of the township is protected land owned and operated by the Nature Conservancy and US Fish & Wildlife Refuge. Beyond nature, along a three mile strip of Dickson Mounds Road/County Road 9 there you'll find Orchard Hill apple orchard and shop, two wineries, Dickson Mounds Museum & Emiquon Nature Preserve. LIfe is lazy dazy here so bring a book and a joint! Both Havana and Lewistown are 6 miles away with grocery, bait and liquor stores, drive through even!
