Interaction with Guests
I will gladly share my knowledge of and love for Venice, encouraging (and providing the necessary info for) guests to move off the beaten path into the lagoon. I am present when guests need me, otherwise I keep a very low profile. Guests can (and should) count on me for assistance as they would a member of their extended family.
Guests are asked to be mature, discreet, considerate, trustworthy, and tidy. No visitors are allowed. Accommodation does not include breakfast or use of kitchen. Guests may not eat meals in their room (but there are fabulous cafes, snack bars, and restaurants in the immediate vicinity). A carafe of fresh filtered water is placed at your bedside. I will be happy to provide a selection of teas and a thermos with hot water.
I cannot store luggage before check-in or after check-out. I will however refer you to excellent, trustworthy facilities in Piazzale Roma or at the Santa Lucia train station.
Please respect check-in and check-out times.
We have spent two weeks using AirBnB in Croatia and Italy, and Debra was the best host we had on our trip! She is very particular about her home, but for good reason: it is a beautiful flat in a great neighborhood. We really liked the location as it is central to many of the better sites around Venice, but without the noise. Debra told us when we arrived that she treats her guests as family, and she did! She spent a considerable amount of time giving recommendations and getting to know us. She is especially keen at helping you find those "off the beaten path" gems around Venice where you won't be mobbed by other tourists. We would love to stay with her again!
Debra is a lovely person who did everything well; she took the time to welcome me and She showed me where to go around Venice. The room is really nice and large. The location is great and it gave me the chance to discover another beautiful area of Venice, less touristic. Great stay.
I cannot imagine a better host than Debra, for the first time Airbnb experience. She responded immediately to my emails; answered all my questions; and sent me maps and clear instructions how to get to her place. She spent time with me to help me with daily itineraries, which I appreciated very much. Her clues, recommendations, and advice were priceless. The room and my own bathroom were big, classy, and comfortable. The view from the room on a canal, again priceless. Despite high temperatures (over 34 degrees C) the fan in the room brought comfort. Did not miss A/C at all. And the noise, made by boats on the canal, only added to the overall charm of the place. The apartment is very conveniently located, close to train and bus stations and to all attractions. Campo Santa Margheritta is lovely and the morning stalls with fresh fish, fruit and vegetables and flowers made the stay more like with a local family than a tourist trap. I highly recommend Debra's place to a single
Debra was a warm and generous host. She provided detailed and accurate directions for arriving at her home (which are very needed in a place like Venice), and immediately made me feel right at home. The room was exactly as described, immaculate down to the smallest detail - I would go as far as to say the pictures don’t do it justice! Debra’s home had a wonderful relaxed and light feel, making it the perfect escape from the Venice hustle and bustle. Having stayed many times in Venice, the area of Dorsoduro is one of my favourites; it is a true local Venetian neighbourhood with great food, drinks and atmosphere. Debra’s home was situated in the heart of this community, and she made a great effort to provide information on local attractions, and the many great restaurants this area boasts. I would highly recommend this listing!
I had a great time in Venice despite it being the hottest and most humid weekend ever. This may have been entirely been due to Debra's kind advice and tips for surviving and enjoying Venice in the summer. I arrived with very loose plans for my days in Venice. Debra gave excellent suggestions on walks, trips, restaurants and sights all off the beaten track and only as a local would know. She even suggested a quiet location, to enjoy the midnight fireworks for the Redontore festival surrounded by locals.
Her apartment is just as described. Clean and modern, but with all the atmosphere of a home on the canals of Venice. It is conveniently located near a square popular with tourists and young people. Although, within less than 5 minutes walk on either direction, it is possible to find great and authentic local food, not catering to tourists. Also, being located away from the tourist trap that is St Mark's square is certainly a good thing. I slept very well at Debra's, despite the heat the ceiling fan does wonders and a stand fan is available on request (which I didn't need). Also windows overlook canals, which is quite pleasant, and not noisy.
The room at Debra's apartment is absolutely fantastic, it has plenty of room and a large bed as well. It's right on the canal so u can see the boats pass! The apartment is also located in a fantastic area with lots of restaurants and cafes just steps from the door.
As far as Debra goes, she's a wonderful host. I came to Venice with a cold and a broken toe, and Debra was so nice and hospitable and helped me out. Would definitely recommend staying at her flat!
Debra is a very friendly and assisting host. The room, with canal view, is nice, clean and comfortable. And you have a bathroom to yourself.
The directions to her apartment are very good, so it is really easy to find. And, next to Campo Santo Margherita, it is an excellent location for exploring Venice.
I enjoyed my stay very much; thanks Debra !
