Other Things to Note
The house is surprisingly quiet for being in the town and anybody who enjoys simplicity will like this kind of space.
Our house is a smoke free zone but you can smoke in the yard. We don't allow pets.
Mary's house is wonderful, exactly as described and beautiful in its simplicity. We enjoyed a nice tea with her to check in, and communication was easy as we all as scheduling the check in. The house has everything you need for cooking your own meals and is easy walking distance from many restaurants and pubs. We also enjoyed an evening walk out to Spanish Point via the country roads. Thanks to Mary for a wonderful stay!
The cottage is in a great location for visiting the surrounding area and check in/out was hassle-free (even though we arrived later than expected). Thanks Mary, hope to see you again.
Mary greeted us with tea and bread and jam for which we were very thankful. The house itself is undeniably full of history and has many quirks to adore. Mary was also very understanding of our schedule changing, which we appreciated very much. The only issue we faced was the lack of heat-- fortunately there are two sources of fire but when that ran out, we were rather cold. We also had difficulty getting the hot water to work. All in all, we are so happy with our stay in Miltown Malbay and recommend this site for anyone interested in houses with a true history.
We stayed at Mary's charming and atmospheric cottage with my parents and 3 year old daughter. Mary was a very welcoming and thoughtful host. Before our visit, she was helpful and responsive to all questions. She had tea waiting for us when we arrived, and had fully equipped the house with everything we needed to get started - towels, logs for the fire, etc. She made us feel very at home and was an excellent host in all senses. I hope to have the chance to come back to Co. Clare and stay again.
