This is a charming renovated old Mexican house.
There are 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, 4 patios and 2 porches. The spectacular views are of the entire city. Full dine-in kitchen and living room. The price listed is per room, 2 person per room.
The house was magazine charming and my bedroom was a superb value with a huge arched window looking out on a Saltillo tile patio. The kitchen was all Mexican hand-made blue and white tiles; so charming it made my cherimoya taste even sweeter. Two blocks away was the Mercado where I could eat large, fresh, delicious meals for $4. I was glad I wasn't paying for someone to cook for me as the food was an adventure in itself. (Try the fresh boiled garbanzo beans with lime, chile, and salt. Ooooo.) Joyce, was wonderful to me. She made sure I was oriented to the city and invited me up to her rooftop patio for a gorgeous view of the sunset and the church spires of el Centro and a glass of wine. I loved every minute and can't wait to go back to stay at her darling house again, and I'll never forget my friend in San Miguel de Allende.
Joyce was an absolute delight to stay with. We had a lot of fun chit chatting about our adventures in life and I feel like I have made a good friend. Thank you Joyce for your warmth and your comfortable home. I'll be back!
Muchas gracias.
