The Space

This place feels rather special. It is a modern studio apartment split into two levels with a separate sleeping area on the upper one, and a large, sunny living room with hidden kitchen on the lover level. The living room has an access to a small balcony/fire escape overlooking the street. High ceiling in the living room and a brick wall with a decorative fireplace give it the feeling of a larger loft.
The apartment comfortably accommodates up to three people - two on the queen size bed on the upper floor sleeping area and one on the pullout sofa in the living room.

The location is as appealing as the place itself. This elevator building is located in a three lined street right next to UN main headquarters, so don't get surprised if some secret service guy gives you a sharp gaze on your way home:)
Area is packed with fancy restaurants and bars and you will find an affordable supermarket around the corner on the same block. Subways are two blocks away and you can easily walk to Fifth Avenue shopping.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • The apartment is located in a good area, nice and safe street, two blocks next to have wonderful entertainment.
The apartment was clean, neat and well equipped. And Kat was very nice and welcoming.

  • I stayed in this apartment with my dad and sister for my youngest sister's graduation. While the house was located in a perfectly fine area it was definitely a little rough around the edges and clearly a house that's used as a rental only so it didn't have the cozy feel of other Airbnb's I've stayed in. For the price I don't think it's a good value and probably wouldn't stay here again. Also, apartment has different furniture than what's shown in the photos.

  • Très bien

  • This studio is in a great spot close to many of the key midtown attractions (a short walk away), but in a neighborhood that is very quiet - which is a real plus. I used this suite on a business trip, but would be great for a couple on a weekend getaway as well!

  • A real New York experience! Lovely small place 2 blocks from the UN Headquarters and maybe 3 to the next subway station. Wood floors, kitchen, comfy bed, light, airy, practical. You're in the middle of the big, living city, so expect traffic and neighbor noise, but the location is hard to beat on the East side. Great diner on the block; great restaurants in the neighborhood.

  • Kat's place is really comfortable and in a superb location. Very clean. Kat's friend who let us in was super helpful.
Avoid basement laundry on Mondays daytime (busy).

  • Our stay at Kat's Loft Studio in Midtown was excellent. It was a great location, close to the subway and we were able to walk to many attractions in the area which was awesome.

The apartment itself was great, very clean and we were able to store our luggage safely before check in and after check out - very accommodating. Overall it was a great stay and I would recommend to fellow travellers.

  • Great communication from Kat and friends, nice split-level apartment, perfect for two; clean, well-maintained (A/C & kitchen electrics worked fine). Amazing location for Central Manhattan and UN. Neighbours could be a little noisy (wooden floors are creaky) but earplugs did the job.

  • The apartment was clean and well located for midtown and the bed was comfortable. The host was very responsive in the run up to our stay, and checking-in and out was easy and convenient. Downsides: bathroom drainage in shower didn't work. Two small towels is not sufficient for a two-person stay longer than a couple of nights. Lighting in the apartment was poor. No storage space for clothes aside from one hanging closet. It meant that we were living out of a suitcase for our trip.
