The Space

For a couple, and in addition a kid or a third person.

An organic, family-run agriturismo enterprise set in the peaceful hillsides amongst olive groves, vineyards and woodlands, overlooking the nearby Tuscany, at an altitude of 480 metres. The stone farmhouse, restored using bioedilizia (ecological construction) concepts, close to the wood, is made up of the main home and of the apartments for rent, each of these consists of: kitchen, bedroom and bathroom.

Guest Access

The outside area is equipped with tables in the shade of the trees, deck chairs, barbecue and wood burning oven.
The apartment is indipendent and complete. All the farm is a garden and you can walk around if you are interest.
You can ask us if you like to have a grill or some more garden forniture.

Interaction with Guests

We live and work in the farm, you can come to talk very often during the day. There's always someone in farm for the emergency and we have maps and touristic information to give you.

The Neighborhood

The farmhouse is conveniently located for reaching the most important artistic, archaeological and naturalistic towns in Umbria and Tuscany.

Getting around

With a car you can get to our place and leave to all the touristic point around really easy. There's the free parking in the farm and in the village.
There's a bus stop 1,3 kilometres far from us and you can get by bus to quiet everywere.

Other Things to Note

We can organise courses (with advance agreement) on our companys premises, of restoration woodwork, bee-keeping, bread-making with sour dough in wood burning oven, Italian language for the children basic courses in ceramics. We suggest also to partecipate to the Tagliatelle pasta workshop with final dinner, here in the company. Nearby, horse riding, hippotherapy (horse therapy) and horseback rides at the Great Horse Spirit centre.

  • Francesco and Louisa were wonderful hosts! The apartment is in the more perfect setting in Umbria. This was the first place that I saw on Airbnb and I am so glad that we stayed here. It was a nice respite after spending a week touring Venice, Florence, and Rome. This is a place to kick back and relax, a perfect place to do nothing but enjoy the beautiful views.

We so enjoyed our pasta class with Louisa and our German neighbors. We got to eat with Francesco and Louisa's family as part of the class and it was an authentic Italian experience. Their farm reminds me a lot of my grandparents' farm, so I felt right at home. I would definitely stay here again and would encourage anyone else to as well.

  • This is a unique and very special place. Francesco and the whole family were wonderful hosts and the place we stayed was simply amazing, hard to describe. The house is in the countryside, where you only hear birds, it is peaceful and very relaxing. Francesco welcomed us, and left us 12 eggs from the farm, fresh from that very same day. I also recommend trying their produce, as we bought some of their great wine, jam and award-winning olive oil. They were so lovely, they even invited us to some homemade cognac one evening, were we put the world to rights under the stars :) We saw fireflies every night. It was simply perfect. I miss the place already. Highly recommendable for holidays with your partner or the whole family.

  • Staying at Francesco and Luisa's farmhouse was one of the highlights of our trip. The apartment was beautiful and rustic, perfect for our two nights there. We were able to cook both nights, which was great because Luisa left us beautiful eggs from her chickens to use. We were able to take a pasta making class with them and had a beautiful meal with their family. We loved learning how they run their farm and how important food is in their lives. We also were able to buy some delicious homemade products from their farm (cheese, olive oil, jams, etc.), so save your money until you get to Cimbolello! We hope we can come back to see them again!

  • This is a really special place to stay while in umbria. We were so warmly welcomed when we arrived. Francesco, Luisa and their family are so lovely, they are the perfect hosts.
The apartment has everything you need for a self catering holiday and was very comfortable.
Luisa and Francesco were there for anything that was needed and communication with them prior to our arrival was great.
We enjoyed doing the pasta making workshop with Luisa on our last night there, and sharing dinner with them was one of our favourite experiences from our whole European holiday. They are both very passionate about their organic lifestyle on the farm and it inspired us so much.
I highly recommend staying at cimbello. Thanks for everything Francesco and Luisa!

  • Cimbolello was an amazing experience we will not forget! It was wonderful to run away to the countryside and experience nature at its best. Here we could turn off our alarms and put aside our to do lists, and just breathe. We loved spending hours reading and napping in the hammocks or on the grass. For a bit of excitement we strolled to the town, toured around Lake Trasimeno on a rented Vespa, or milked sheep. Our times with the Cordone family were incredibly precious, especially late night chats and dessert outside amongst the fireflies. It was all very magical and we hope to come one day.

  • Our hearts are full of love after our time spent with Francesco and Luisa, what a heartwarming and unforgettable experience we have had. The best thing we did was hire a car which was so easy after getting off at the train station and we drove ourselves to the most magical place. Eagerly greeted in Citta Della Pieve by Luisa who showed us the way home, every moment we spent at the farm or out adventuring was incredible. Peaceful and so comfortable, our little home was perfect. We made a close friendship and experienced milking the sheep, cooking and wandering around the farm. The local mineral springs, amazing gelato and picturesque towns is just the tip of the iceberg of what we did while we stayed here. Do yourself a favour, check out of the fast lane, and nourish your soul at Cimbolello. Thank you Francesco and Luisa, we missed you the moment we left.

  • We loved the town of Citta della Pieve, the perfect towns and very few tourists! Francesco and Louisa were lovely kind hosts and their farm is really special. We got a cheesemaking lesson from Louisa and enjoyed their gardens. It's very rustic which appeals to us but might not for everyone.

  • Staying with Francesco and Luisa was the highlight of all the places we visited in Europe. Their farm was so beautiful! We learned a lot about sheep, cheese, flowers, trees, wine, olive oil and even making pasta! The best part of our stay was spending time with them . We felt a connection with them from the start. It's rare that you meet people who are genuine, loving and kind. My 18 month old son loved them as well! Staying 4 days with them is definitely too short! We will always remember our stay in their farm. Hope we can go back again soon! We miss you Francesco and Luisa!!

  • Amazing.

What else can we say? There's so much that we loved about Cimbolello, it's hard to pick just a few things to write about.

Francesco and Luisa were warm and welcoming. They were easy to get along with and patient with two monolingual English speakers.

Animals! If you love animals, look no further. Two adorable dogs, sheep (I milked one!), a feisty barn cat, chickens, and a charming family of bees. OK the bees were just normal.

Food! Francesco and Luisa make the most delicious olive oil I've ever had in my life. Also, phenomenal honey, preserves, pecorino cheese, etc. etc. etc. We also had the pleasure of eating hand-made tagliatelle (made by OUR hands!) with the family. In fact, we felt like our stay there gave us a feel for family life in rural Italy and it was inspiring.

The apartment was charming in a rustic fairy tale sort of way. All stone walls. The kitchen and eating area was adorable. Overall the size was just right for two people. It did tend to feel damp--probably the stone--but lighting the wood stove helped warm and dry the space. We'd recommend bringing slippers or thick socks for stone floor and turning down the bed sheets during the day to prevent dampness from accumulating.

The farm itself was gorgeous, as is Citta de la Pieve, the small down only a 20 minute walk away. We did not have a car, but we found it easy to stroll into town for an afternoon, take in the sights and return with whatever groceries we needed.

Thanks for a wonderful visit, Francesco, Luisa, Sebastiano and Carla! We'll never forget it.

We are located at an altitude of 480 metres. The farm produces wine, oil, honey, cheeses, and many other products.
