Come relax in my cozy and highly adorable first floor 1-BR apartment in Cobble Hill, the greatest neighborhood in Brooklyn. The apartment is located on a tree-lined street near everything including Manhattan. Convenient, cozy and cute! Come on over!
This cozy, beautiful apartment has been featured on design blogs and in The New York Times. It's comfortable and perfect for a weekend getaway in the city. Nestled in the best neighborhood in Brooklyn, you can walk to boutiques, restaurants, movie theaters, book stores and more. The city is only a few stops away via the F line two blocks from the apartment. And the apartment is on the ground floor so carrying packages home after a day of shopping is a breeze.
Wi-fi, Netflix, Hulu and Roku are available. Clean towels and sheets for each guest. Tea and a French Press for coffee, too!
Interaction with Guests
I will personally hand you the key and show you around my home and then let you settle in. I am always available via text or phone call in case you need me.
Cobble Hill is a real treasure. I love walking up and down Court Street poking into clothing and antique stores. 3 blocks away is the best independent book store: Book Court, 4 blocks the other way is the movie theater and the greatest place for hot chocolate is next door: The Chocolate Room. Brooklyn Bridge is within walking distance as is Brooklyn Bridge Park and The Promenade. In any season, this neighborhood is a treat and you will feel relaxed and at ease hopping from street to street.
The F and G train at Bergen Street (only 3 stops into Manhattan) are two blocks away. Buses run down Court Street and Smith Street regularly. There is fairly regular free street parking on my block and within the neighborhood. I suggest taking a taxi from the airport but, if you're up for the adventure, you can take the AirTrain to the A and switch to the F to get to Bergen (from JFK airport).
Other Things to Note
I have one real Full-size bed in the bedroom and one Full-size inflatable air bed available in the living room. The bathroom has a full tub and shower with very nice water pressure.
This is a no smoking apartment. No extra guests (even if they're just "stopping by"), no loud music or parties, no drugs, no pets.
We found Jeni's apartment to be just as described. It was bright and neat and adorably decorated. Jeni was waiting for us right on schedule to give us the keys and a brief orientation to the apartment and neighborhood. Even in heart of a frigid winter, her apartment was super cozy and warm. Sheets and towels were provided which is always a big plus in order to travel light and the bed was really comfy. We enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and the train was only a block away. We drove into NY and found free street parking without a problem. All in all, we were very pleased with our experience and glad we found the listing on Air BNB! Jeni was delightful to work with and I would highly recommend her apartment to anyone!
We had a wonderful stay at Jeni's place, our first Airbnb experience. It was exactly what we expected, maybe even better. This apartment was charming, cozy and comfortable for the two of us, very much like what is represented in the photos. Jeni was a very responsive host from start to finish. We had few requests which she addressed happily and immediately and their were no problems with the apartment. The neighborhood is great, best we've ever stayed in Brooklyn. Coffee shops, bakeries, restaurants galore! The location is ideal for either a visit to Brooklyn or Manhattan as it was very easy to get around - the subway was just a couple blocks away and Uber was never more than a few minutes out. We stayed 5 nights and could have happily stayed longer in this lovely apartment. Jeni's place will remain a favorite of ours which we hope we're able to use again.
First, this is not Cobble Hill. Cobble Hill is the other side of Court Street. There were three of us, but the flat is not suitable for three people. There is no place to eat even for two people. The host was very nice beforehand, but not so happy after we had problems. The toilet stopped up, the sheets did not fit the air mattress, there were bugs in the kitchen, the building is in poor repair, and we were not supposed to tell anyone, like the super, who lives directly across, that we were with airbnb. All the windows were blocked up which made the flat dark. It was not worth the price. My daughter says this review is too tame given our experience!
I am so very sorry that Ron and his lovely wife Cathy had such a negative experience in my home during their very first AirBnB stay. I have lived here for almost 4 years and have had over 25 AirBnB guests and have never had any of the complaints Ron listed. I haven't seen a bug in my home, I'm not sure what bugs Ron is referring to. The air mattress is a Full-Size bed and the sheets fit perfectly. The plumbing has never been an issue in the past, I'm so very sorry that Ron experienced that, perhaps there was an excess of toilet tissue used but I wasn't here so I don't know what happened exactly. I was happy when I checked them in and remained pleasant and helpful during their 3 day stay.
My apartment is on the first floor and sometimes it is dark. The curtains can be pulled back to let in light. This is absolutely Cobble Hill, I'm not sure how else to answer a claim that it is not.
Yes, unfortunately, as all AirBnB guests and hosts are aware, NYC is in a legal limbo and so I ask that nobody mentions AirBnB to people in my building. Ron and his wife seemed fine with that when I communicated that fact in person. This is not a hotel so there are a handful of mutual negotiations that go on between hosts and guests and this is one of them.
Please read my many, many overwhelmingly positive reviews for an accurate description of my home and for the beautiful experience my many wonderful guests have had during their stay here.
Hey Jeni, beautiful apartment, well appointed and warm for a winter stay.
As you suggested the location was great and we managed to sample and enjoy some of the places you recommended to us as well as some we stumbled by such as rucola cafe and cafe paddler. Both were equally fantastic.
Thanks for your hospitality upon checking in and for helping to make our stay in New York a special one.

Jan and I were absolutely delighted with this listing and hope to stay there again!
I stayed at Jeni's place for four nights and a friend joined me for two of the nights. The apartment was exactly as expected. My friend slept on the comfortable couch and I was very happy with the bed in the bedroom. The building was quiet and the unit was a nice place to rest at the end of a long day walking all over town.
Jeni was very welcoming and helpful. The neighborhood is great, just a block from the Bergen F train stop, and so many bars, restaurants, and stores to explore in the neighborhood. The new Brooklyn Bridge Park was a short walk and Manhattan is just three train stops away.
As it says on on the Airbnb website, Jeni's apartment is sweet and neat. The apartment was quite small but it had all the necessary appliances we needed for our short stay. We found the apartment clean and tidy with clean towels and clean bedding.
Jeni was welcoming . She waited for us in the apartment and explained everything we needed to know. She also left a detailed list of instruction about the apartment and the neighborhood.
I had no problem communicating with her. When I had a question and sent her a text she came back to me in seconds.
I especially appreciate that when returning home I thought I'd left an item at her apartment, she made an effort to look for it and text me back. (I later found the item among our suitcases)
