The space
Freedrift is a one-bedroom cottage with extraordinary views of undulating fynbos hills, Rondevlei lake and Outeniqua mountains. The bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and a luxurious king-size bed, which can be split into twin beds upon request. The comfy living area has a sleeper couch suitable for two young children. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The cottage is private, pet-friendly, off the grid, and equipped with a smart air conditioning system, Wi-Fi, TV and Netflix – all the luxuries you need to enjoy a restful getaway.

Freedrift has its own private wood-fired hot tub, fire pit and deck with an outdoor dining area and a gas braai. Watch the stillness of nature from the comfort of your bed while drinking your morning coffee. Let your dogs run through the fynbos and watch your children play in nature. Soak in the hot tub and marvel at glorious sunset scenes. Relax around the fire and braai under the Milky Way.

The cottage is a short stroll away from our shared pool area where guests can relax and enjoy views of the lake and mountains. Enjoy magcal walks on our short farm trails where you and your dogs can run free on our sandy fynbos covered dunes. Equleni borders the Wilderness National Park, so guests can walk straight from the farm to visit the nearby bird hide or hike along the Cape Dune Molerat Trail.

Conveniently located between Knysna and George and just outside of the Villages of Sedgefield. & Wilderness. Although we are on a farm we have the comfort of a tar road all the way to our front gate.

Guest access
The whole farm is yours to explore! Enjoy our beautiful farm trails, let your dogs run free on the fynbos dunes, relax by the farm pool overlooking the view, or explore the neighbouring Wilderness National Park.

The cottage is secluded with a fair distance between you and other cottages – granting you privacy and peace in nature.

Your own transport is essential, and there is place to park outside your cottage.

The farm is along a 2km newly tarred road.

Other things to note
1. The farm runs on solar power (no loadshedding!).
2. While our farm is fenced, the cottage itself is not. For this reason, we can only accommodate socialised, non-roaming dogs.
3. Please note that the sleeper couch is only suitable for children.

The 21-hectare property showcases the unique natural beauty of the Garden Route with uninterrupted views painted by the fynbos, lake, mountains and sky. Equleni is a natural sanctuary of abundant indigenous flora and incredible birdlife. Situated between George and Knysna near the slow town of Sedgefield, the farm is close to stunning beaches, forests, local markets, hikes, restaurants and outdoor activities. The farm borders the Wilderness National Park, giving Equleni the magical feeling of a remote getaway while still being connected to everything the Garden Route has to offer.

Spend quality time with loved ones and reconnect with yourself. Marvel at picturesque African sunsets and gaze up at the Milky Way on a clear night.
