Central location in London, walking distance to all major attractions and shopping, clubs. Cosy comfy double bed. Clean and safe area.
Nearest Subway Station: Piccadilly Circus (3min walk), Leicester Square (4min walk)
This is a double bedroom with its own shower, toilet and wash basin. It's part of a larger flat. Newly decorated, functional and comfortable. There is a small mini fridge and sink in the room, so you can be self sufficient. It has air conditioning.
We have decided not to have a TV in the room, partly because the reception is poor in our block, but also there's so much exciting things to do outside.
The location is great, in the heart of West End. Hundreds of restaurants, bars, theatres and museums nearby. You are literally with in 5 minutes walking distance to all major museums and art galleries. Oxford Street and Bond Street is 10 - 15min walk max. One of our guests commented on how easy it was for her to shop then return for a break and then out again.
Do expect some noise as it's backed onto restaurants.
We provide bedding and 1 bath towel for every guests. Towels are home cleaned, if you are expecting hotel standards, then please bring your own towels.
I am a very honest and down to earth person, I want you to be aware of any potential issues before hand and be happy with any bookings you make with me. Also I'd like to draw your attention to the fact that this is Airbnb, not a hotel and you are in people's private homes. We do our best to make sure everyone has a great time, but we don't run like a hotel and we are working families, so we are not around 24/7.
If there's anything you need, just ask and we shall try our best to help you. Fast Wifi is included. We can do some basic washings for you (1 load a week), or laundry services can be ordered easily from local supplier.
Please check out our other rooms to suite your budget and requirement.
The room is self contained, so you won't see us much. We are also very busy families working shifts.
Very central, safe and fun. Noisy and lively.
Super easy to everywhere.
My needs for the short stay were convenience (location), reliability of all stuff working well (speed) and cleanliness. Didn't need anything fancy as honestly I got no time to enjoy a "nice hotel" during this meetings-packed biz trip. I was wowed by the incredible location and had a pleasant stay overall!
Location - awesome
Cleanliness - acceptable
Bathroom - miniscule
Noise level - rather quiet
View - best not to look at it
People - friendly and helpful
I had a great stay in London! Helen is very friendly and helpful, and the room is very comfortable. The bathroom is a tight squeeze, but clean and updated. It felt a bit like a boutique hotel in a fantastic location! I was able to easily walk to Whitehall, and the rest of London is accessed by Tube and train. I would definitely stay here again.
Location, location, location! The building is located on the border of chinatown and right in the middle of everything there is to do in central London. The flat was an easy find from Heathrow by train and in walking distace to most attractions. And although it is in a touristy area the restaurants in walking distance were excellent (Sartori). The room is small but clean. The bathroom is nicely updated. Perfect for a short stay. Helen was very accommodating and helpful. Word of advice, have a means in which to contact Helen or Mrs. Yang when you arrive. The red phone booths in the area reek of urine. Otherwise would book again.
the location cannot be matched! Right in the center of West End, close to everything! We walked to most of our sights. The room is small but comfortable, clean and tidy. The host was very accommodating of us leaving our luggages for later pickup. The lift is a bit temperamental, sometimes it does not open when called from ground floor. But the apartment is only a floor above, so we didn't feel troubled climbing the stairs. Would definitely stay here again next time I visit London.
Lovely host.. Very helpful and accommodating. The room suited us perfectly when considering the close proximity to Chinatown. Thank you again. Mark.
Great! Great! Great!
I made reservation two days before checking in.
Great location! Small and cosy mini studio room with a toilet! Friendly hostess. Nearby there are a taxi bureau and actually near that place a lot of taxi cars.
Great location and room has everything we needed for our weekend stay.
Bad. Probably the only thing good was the location. The apartment was a short walk from either Picadilly and Leicester square station. Things didn't get off a very good start. We arrived at 5pm on the day of check in. Made arrangements with Helen via email prior to arrival. When we finally reached the building, we couldn't contact anyone to grant us access! Doesn't help that it was raining. After about 10-15 minutes of endless calling and ringing on the bell, we finally contacted Helen, who said she'll be there in 5 min. The wait turned out to be half an hour. Lift wasn't functioning and we had to carry our luggage up a few levels. To make matters worse, the room was not made up when we entered. Extremely unprofessional in my opinion. We stayed in the double room, rather old and run down. Huge contrast from the pictures on Airbnb. Bathroom was small and run down and the shower area was cracked. Hence told to exercise extra caution when bathing. Space was so limited that we got burnt by the heater in the toilet. Will not return again.
It's not in my nature to leave negative review for any of our guests. However in this case, I do feel compelled to do so. We did make a number of concessions for Mr Tan and his girlfriend through out their stay and it now appears totally wasted effort on our part. First of all, Mr Tan requested a room with us for twin occupancy and then conveniently only paid for single occupancy rate through the website. I graciously waived the charge as I saw it as a genuine mistake. Obviously it's unappreciated. On the day of his arrival, his girlfriend arrived first, initially there were some confusion as we were on a different site, but she didn't have to wait for 30 min in the rain, I was there within 10min to let her in from the time she called me (still have the text messages). The lift was malfunctioning, it needed to be called from upstairs to the ground floor, I called the lift and she already carried the luggage up the 2 sets of stairs. I did inform her that she could have waited and we'd given her a hand with the luggage. The guests earlier left later in the day and it's true that the room needed new bedding. I apologies about the delay and very politely asked her to return in 30min, the room was cleaned and ready. We are not hotels and we are working families with children and full time jobs. By the time Mr Tan arrived in the evening, there were no issues of the room not ready, so he only heard the 'unprofessional opinion' second hand from his girlfriend. Himself in fact never experienced any of this supposed chaos. On the day of checking out, they requested a very late check out at 7pm and said it was to compensate them for their trouble (what trouble may I ask?). We have no problem with guests checking out late, we offered to keep their luggage in our office or in another room as we had guests coming that evening. But they were not happy to do so, they were paranoid about security of their luggage and insisted on keeping the room till 7pm and no other guest should be allowed into the room. It really worried us as hosts as we don't want to be held responsible for any thing missing. Nobody lost anything on our site and everyone else were perfectly happy to leave their luggage in the common area or in our office. What really surprise us was their 'bad experience'. If they were so unhappy, I wondered why they chose to stay an extra night? I now wish I didn't allow them to stay, we shouldn't have to put up with their late check out request. They are obviously more suited to the top hotels in London rather than staying in someone's home. I noticed the sealant was peeling away from the wall, it couldn't be fixed while they are staying as the new seal would take 24 hours to dry. I informed the girlfriend, so she's aware of the potential mini leak and could be a little careful when shower. I don't think that's too much to ask of a guest to do. It's small space and compact, but not rundown. It's decorated with grey slate tiles and modern pieces. I also told her about the various controls on the wall, so why they decided to turn on the radiator, I have no idea. It's a towel radiator and is meant to be hot. Airbnb photo team took good pictures of the room, but I also had my own snaps of the room on the website showing the room/toilet exactly as it is. The description matches the place and I never exaggerated. The bad review I got from them is totally unjustified. We do feel that they are ungrateful guests, twisting facts, paranoid and grumpy in nature. I feel compelled to write this response in defense of these accusations.
