Interaction with Guests
We look forward to meeting our guests and helping them have a great time in Madison! We are usually around on weekends and evenings. We love to chat and swap travel stories, and are glad to give directions and recommendations for things to do and see around town.
We live in the charming and eclectic Willy St neighborhood, on Madison's near East Side. It is a friendly family neighborhood that hosts many festivals in the summertime. Orton Park is just outside our front door and BB Clark Beach is just down the street. You can find everything you need just a short walk away, including a natural foods co-op, pharmacy, restaurants, cafes, bakeries, shops, bars and breweries.
We are conveniently located a few blocks from the bus line, bike path, and a B-Cycle rental station. Our street offers free parking year-round.
Other Things to Note
We have a youngster around a few times a week. We have fun, but are respectful of our guests. We'll let you know if he'll be around during your stay and we'll do our best to be quiet. :)
Our apartment is on the bottom floor of a large house. We have upstairs neighbors that are usually quiet and respectful, but sometimes you can hear footsteps or other activity.
We do have a couple low ceilings/doorways, so if you are over 6 foot you may need to be mindful of your head.
We are pretty laidback but we do request that our guests follow a few simple rules.
~Please leave your shoes at the door.
~The tv is off-limits for guests. We do not have cable.
~Please be tidy and clean up after yourself.
~No smoking or candle-lighting; we don't want to burn the house down...
~No drinking on the dock, please.
~No pets, please! We want to keep our home allergen-free.
From clean towels and toiletries to chocolates to full use of their tidy kitchen, everything about this Air BnB was awesome! The lake view was incredible, and we got to watch fireworks over the lake from the living room. How cool is that? The location is superb, with a short walk to tons of cool Madison shops and eats. It worked out great and I would absolutely stay here again when we return to Madison!
Lauren and Dan were both very accommodating and friendly. I had nice chats with them both about the best places to eat and visit in Madison and life in general. The apartment is very cozy and the guest bed is super comfortable. The neighborhood is beautiful and within walking distance of the Madison downtown area. Overall, it was a wonderful stay with two great people!
This was my first time staying at an airbnb and I can only hope that they are all as pleasant of an experience. Lauren was a gracious host. Her cottage-like apartment is nestled into the rear of an 19th Century Victorian home. Its location greats you with a luscious park setting as well as a panoramic view of Lake Monona. Anyone looking to experience the charm of Madison neighborhoods should stay at this airbnb

We loved our stay with Lauren and Dan-- we had the warmest of welcomes from them, and couldn't have had a better experience!! We stayed with them during an eventful four-day itinerary of wedding events, and they provided a perfect refuge. From the morning coffee, which we drank relaxedly on the dock, watching the lake, to the delightfully curated breakfast treats, to the company, with whom we were grateful to share some fun moments with throughout the weekend when we were all around, everything was truly perfect. The neighborhood is a beautiful, quiet residential area, a few mere minutes from the happening Willy (Williamson) St. area, and within minutes drive of the Capitol square. Shower was fantastic. The lakefront property is magical and serene-- highly recommend enjoying it!! Wish we'd had time to actually swim or paddle around-- next time!! Also-- If you've never shared home before or are hesitant-- just have to say *these* are the circumstances in which it give it a go-- just the best, and sweet, kindest 'flatmates,' they are. We'd repeat this experience any day.
We had a great stay in this relaxing lakeside apartment in a quiet beautiful. We took a walk along the lake and we enjoyed the variety of architecture of the well kept houses. Lauren communicated well and we had nice breakfasts of yogurt and granola and fruit. Highly recommended!
Lauren's place was exactly what I needed on my trip to Madison. It was comfortable, had a great view of Lake Monona and was in a fantastic neighborhood. Everything I needed was there. I didn't have time to make use of much aside from the bed and bathroom, but it was made clear that I was welcome to use the kitchen and that would have been nice on a longer trip. I would definitely stay there again. Thanks Lauren!
