The Space

You won’t find a better place to stay - here you have everything you can wish for at your doorstep.
This airy penthouse is situated at the center of Frederiksberg, between Vesterbro and Nørrebro, two of the funkiest areas of the inner city.
Just round the corner from this bright gem, you’ll find lots of design shops, cozy cafes, restaurants and cool bars - you've probably heard or read about them. Head the opposite direction for beautiful Frederiksberg Allé, also known as the "Danish Champs-Élysées" - which will take you to peaceful Frederiksberg Park.

If you want to spend time in the city center, the flat is just off Gammel Kongevej, which will take you there by 10 minutes walk, or 3 minutes with public transportation. – there is also a bicycle you can use:)

The apartment itself has a double bedroom with a great view of the citys roofs, built-in wardrobe, french doors, a huge living room, with a big cozy sofa, and a dining area that easily seats 6 people. Then there's the kitchen/dining room, with skylight, bar stools, another dining area, floor to ceiling windows that open on to the beautiful private roof terrace. Here you have the best and undisturbed view over the city. A sight at night! Lots of sun during the day! There's a table, lots of greens and a big barbeque. Feel free to use it.
Finally, the apartment offers a large bathroom with under floor heating.
The kitchen is equipped with everything you will need and more. Duvets, bedlinen and towels will be provided. The furniture is mostly Dansih design, but a few other designers like Harry Bertoia, Piero Lisoni and Santa&Cole will also make you feel most welcome!

*** I had a massive water dammage in early September, and that's the reason why I had to cancel Mira's and Gustav's visits. It's the only two times I have ever cancelled on a guest. The roof window has now been replaced and the flat is fully functioning again ***

  • If you're looking for the perfect spot in central Copenhagen, this is where you want to stay! The apartment is stylish and bright and has a lovely roof terrace overlooking the city. The area offers lots of great restaurants and shops and you're only a 5 min walk from hip Vesterbro. Cecile is very friendly and helpful and everything went smooth. I highly recommend staying here.

  • Cecilie was a warm, welcoming and informative host. The space didn't quite live up to expectations in photograph and description. 90 stairs to negotiate, so make sure you can manage this.

  • Great apt, very well located! The owner was very friendly and helpful To receive us and give a lot of local tips!

  • Cecille's apartment was really nice and exactly like the pictures. The roof top balcony was great and the living room very spacious. We stayed in the apratment for five nights with four people and had a great time. A couple of points to note, the apartment would be better suited for a couple. The bedroom has (french doors) this means glass doors with no curtains so there is not much privacy for either the couple in the bedroom or those sleeping in the living room on the couch or the air matress.

The apartment is in a nice quiet part of Copenhagen with very pretty streets. It is a bit of a walk to the centre but if you like walking like we do, that shouldn't be a problem.

  • I loved how airy and bright the apartment was, and the balcony had a really nice view. Very laid back. Thanks again!

  • Cecilie's apartment looks just like it appears in the photos and suited the two of us very well during our week long stay. It is well located and we were able to walk every day to different areas of Copenhagen to check out various areas. It is really not far to anywhere but if you don't like walking as much as we do, you can access everywhere very quickly by bicycle or public transport. The apartment is well equipped in all respects and we enjoyed using the balcony. If you are looking for a good meal in Fredericksburg when you first arrive we can thoroughly recommend Sticks n Sushi which is 3 minutes walk away at the end of the street. On this visit we did not meet up with Cecilie but she was good at keeping in touch and was most hospitable and helpful. We would certainly recommend this apartment for either a short or a long stay. Thanks Cecilie.

  • Cecilie was a nice host and very responsive. We did, however, have some special needs and expectations that were not fully met. We felt that the apartment was in a good location and cute, but it did not lend itself to a very comfortable 10 day stay for a family traveling from the US for a number of reasons:
    a) Sleeping arrangements. The bed in a master bedroom was just a futon mattress on a bed frame and barely larger than the full size mattress. It was way too small for a comfortable sleep for the two people. The couch in the living room was too thin on one end and too short on the other end, so our 8 year old had to sleep on the air mattress (which ironically was larger than our master bed).
    b) The bathroom. Due to a strange doorless design of the shower, the floor was flooded with water after each shower and had to be wiped out manually with a squeegee, which was not much fun.
    c) Windows. Since most of the skylights, windows and balcony did not have any window treatments, the apartment got really hot during sunny days and especially when it was in the high 20's it took well into midnight until it cooled off. Our son was woken up early by excessive sun light, which could not be controlled.
    d) Laundry. I obviously had a misunderstanding with Cecilie when I was under the impression that there was a laundry and dryer available in the building. It was nice to have a washing machine in the apartment, but I did not plan on having to do 4 runs of laundry during our trip and manually dry things out on the balcony.
    e) Television. There was none and we were assured that we could use internent. The wireless connection failed a few times and then we lost VPN completely, so were not able to watch anything from the US.
    f) Walk-up. Although the apartment is on the 4th floor, it really felt like it was a 6th floor walk up due to such high ceilings in the building.
    g) Transportation. A couple of bus lines pass right at the end of the block, but the closest subway was really a 15 minutes walk (not 5, as previously mentioned by someone).
This apartment is a great choice for a single or a couple of travelers from the EU, coming for a few days to Copenhagen. The place cannot really hold more than 2 people comfortably and does not provide a number of conveniences that American tourists, who are 13+ hrs away from home are looking for.

  • This is a fantastic place to stay and lived up to all our expectations. Cecilie is an excellent host and was very helpful and easily contactable, which made our stay very enjoyable. Highly recommended!
