We had a wonderful time at George and Naomi's. Mile End is a great area with lots if fun bars and restaurants but away from the bustle of downtown. Fair mount Bagels steps away and a bike path right outside!
The place was as expected, great communication and a very pleasant man who owned the coffee shop across the street and provided the key and good advice including driving directions, parking locations, and great morning coffee!!
The place was ready for us, tidy and clean. The neighborhood is the trendy mile end full of young people and families, with lots of restaurants in walking distance. Progressive right down to the two-way bike path outside the apartment front (email hidden) to visit or live!
Quartier très agréable. Très bon accueil chez Illy! Une adresse a recommander. La piste cyclable passe devant la maison et c'est très calme. Merci a nos hôtes toujours soucieux de notre confort.
George and Naomi's place is fantastic - they live right in the heart of the Mile End, a wonderful neighbourhood with the best of everything Montreal has to offer. The apt. was beautiful, spotless, perfectly set up, and it was super easy to communicate with them and get keys, info, etc. Thanks! We really hope to come back.
We loved our stay here! George was quick to answer queries and was very helpful. The apartment was lovely - very clean, well equipped and nicely decorated. We travelled with 2 small kids and it worked fine. There was a small room off the lounge with a toddler bed where they slept(smallest in travel crib) . The bathroom has two entrances from the main bedroom and the lounge - which was good for us.
The apartment is in an amazing location in the heart of a really laid back, neighborhood; full of nice restaurants/cafes and shops. It's just a block from the main streets (to get bus etc) but feels very quiet. We went to the cafe across the street and the Faberge cafe (for brunch) both within a stones throw. And recommend both!
The first night we arrived late and had to get up early to move the car - the parking can be confusing. A guy from the shop next door was very helpful though and I managed to get a space right outside and left it there until we left!
We were sad to leave and wanted to stay longer, but no surprisingly it was already booked!
We enjoyed our stay because the host was very detailed an accurate with his description of the apartment and the neighborhood. He also has his next door café owner come and check on us and offering any guidance on places to go. Our favorite breakfast was Faberge and our favorite dinner place was L'Atelier. Getting to old Montreal using the metro was as easy as a breeze not to mention going to Jean Talon Farmers Market and salivating over the wonderful, fresh and organic meat and vegetables. Montreal is not to be missed, I highly recommend you stay at George & Naomi's apartment if you want to be central to everything.
We arrived later than expected. George was great in responding to our emails and text messages.
This was our first AirBnb experience and it was perfect.
After a long day of traveling we took advantage of the couch, tv an the tablet to connect to Netflix. After a bit of a rest we ventured out into the neighborhood. The location of this rental is really great. It's located just one block off of the Mile End that has tons of restaurants and shops. We found just up on the (email hidden) to have a coffee and some dessert the first night.
Heading back to the unit on our first night we noticed very close was a Bagel Factory with a retail store. We highly recommend that you pick up some of the bagels for the morning.
The next day we walked several miles and then came back to relax. It was great to be able to do laundry. They have a very nice washer and dryer (check the lint trap).
The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was great. The shower and bathroom were extremely clean.
Overall it was perfect for us and we highly recommend you stay at George and Naomi's "urban retreat" if you are looking (email hidden) in Montreal.
The apt has ample space, and the patio is private. The neighbourhood is nice and quiet, with a delicious coffee shop across the road. Free parking is not easily accessible, as there are minimal free non permit parking spots on the road, and get filled very fast.
Great neighborhood and really quaint apartment. George and Naomi gave us ample detail on the apartment and the checkin / out process was as smooth as can be. If you've got a small group this place is a great stay.
The ideal Montreal getaway! My boyfriend and I spent a week at George and Naomi's in May to visit family, and we were blown away by this chic, comfortable apartment in the heart of Mile End (which as I can attest, having family in the city, is the absolute best part of Montreal...getting trendier every time we visit!).
The apartment is ground floor on a bustling street, steps from great restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and retail, but the bedroom and entire place was extremely quiet. We found the apartment very spacious for two, beautifully furnished, and it could easily fit another guest or even couple (there's a kids room and fold-out couch). The kitchen was nicely stocked — cooking supplies, dishes, wine glasses, etc — wi-fi worked great, and there was even a washer and dryer with detergent so we could do our laundry before heading back home. Plus a roomy backyard with chairs and a BBQ (we didn't use it, maybe next time!).
Key pick-up and drop-off was easy and convenient, and our hosts checked in a few times via email over the course of the week. I really can't say enough good things about this experience — we'll definitely be staying here whenever we head back to Montreal. Oh! And a few tips: our favorite spots within walking distance were Cartel (Taco Tuesdays!), Aux Vives (yummy vegan), Magpie (stellar pizza), Illy Coffee (right across the street), Sparrow (trendy nouveau cuisine and great brunch), and Casa (chill bar with Mexican-ish food). Also take the 10 minute walk to "the mountain" where you can do a lovely stroll up a giant hill with amazing city views.
