The Osborne, an historic Victorian farmhouse rental since the 1890's, is the ideal place for couples, families and small groups to connect with the past while discovering the stunning landscape of Spring City, Utah. Whatever your reasons — whether family gatherings, historical exploration, mountain adventure on ATV trails off Spring City Canyon or Skyline Drive, rock climbing in Maple Canyon, relaxation or romance—your stay at The Osborne will remind you to slow your pace and savor life.

The space
Enjoy our large kitchen as you prepare breakfast and other meals together with your family and friends. As a whole house rental, we can no longer rent out individual rooms, nor serve breakfast.

The Osborne is on the National Register of Historic Places in the midst of the National Historic District of Spring City, Utah, with over 50 other historic homes. It was built by William and Margaret Beck Osborne in 1894. When Margaret Osborne’s father passed away, she used her inheritance money to build this beautiful home in the Victorian pattern-book style. In 1896, Margaret opened the home to boarders as the Osborne Hotel.

In honor of its history, in 2005, The Dane & Barbara Chapman Family opened The Osborne once again as an historic bed and breakfast renting individual rooms and serving a delicious homestyle breakfast! Recently, after nearly 18 years renting individual rooms, we began renting only the entire house to encourage family gatherings and to better protect our guests from Covid-19. Since we no longer serve breakfast, the award winning Das Cafe, an authentic german restaurant only two blocks away, has become a favorite breakfast destination for our guests.

Where you’ll be

Spring City, Utah, United States

In the heart of Utah, nestled under Horseshoe Mountain, is Spring City: the town that time forgot. Spring City was founded in 1852 by James Allred and is a registered national historic district with all of the charm of a 19th century community. The town “graphically documents the techniques of Mormon town planning in Utah” and the “architecture is remarkably well preserved with an abundance of religious buildings, homes and small commercial establishments which predate World War One” (National Register of Historic Districts Report). Spring City’s early population was largely Scandinavian, influencing many of its buildings’ architectural designs. The town retains much of the same atmosphere it did when first established.

Just across Main Street from The Osborne is Apostle Orson Hyde's pioneer home. Two blocks north is Spring City's Center Street which one can take due east to head up the mountain pass along Spring City Canyon to Skyline Drive, an ATV paradise, and one of the highest roads in North America. There are numerous mountain trails to be explored along the way. If you prefer rock climbing, world class climbing is 20 minutes due west at Maple Canyon. Immediately south of The Osborne is Horseshoe Mountain Pottery with a 24-7 display of earthen wares which can be purchased using the honor system.
