Sid is a nice person with who it was easy to communicate, he replies very quickly ! The apartment is in East Village, nice neighboorhood, about 15min walking from subway, and close to the bus station to bring you to subway.
However, some points I have to notify is the noise during the night because of the heating system, and it was so warm in the apartment that we were obliged to open the window with 0°C (not eco-friendly!). And we have to notify that the apartment was generally unclean : very black seals and humidity in the batroom, dust, unclean kitchen. By the way, we had a good stay in NYC. We use a lot airbnb (host and guest) but we think the apartment was too expensive for what it actually was.
I stayed for 4 nights at Sid's place and it was my first airbnb experience. Sid was good with communications leading up to my stay and I picked the key up from the neighbour when I arrived about 10pm on Tues night. The rooms were exactly like the pictures. When I arrived I was a bit startled at the entrance/lift area as it was covered in graffiti and as a single female travelling for the first time to NY, it felt like it may be a rough area. However it was fine when I got upstairs and I had a great stay. Sid suggested things to do in the evening and also helped out when I got stuck with the subway routes. There are loads of cafes and bars in the area, a bus stop outside on 3rd Ave goes straight to Brooklyn Bridge and there is a cool yoga studio in St Marks Ave 10 min walk away too.
Sid is a very kind host. I had no problems contacting with him and setting the details. He provided me with some useful tips. The place is just as it is in the offer: spacious and clean bedroom, comfortable bed, the apartment has everything you need plus a nice atmosphere. The neigborhood is awesome and neigbors are quiet. I would dedinitely recommend staying at Sid's place to anyone!
Sid and his flatmate were very friendly with us and welcomed us very well giving us good informations to enjoy new york. The room was spacious, clean and confortable (as in the picture) in a good district where you can discover full of restaurants and bars. Sid invited us partying in a lovely rooftop (le bain) in order to see him as a dj. We had lot of fun and it will be a very good souvenir. For the french people who don t speak english fluently , sid can also speak in french perfectly. I recommend everyone to go there.
Sid was really helpful with recommending local restaurants and music venues. He recommended us going to Blue Note to see Jazz which was awesome. Location was great and close to lots of cool bars.
