Jack was very hospitable, provided everything we needed and answered all our questions. He also turned on the heater immediately upon request.
The place is actually a "hostel" with lots of proper rooms - mine had ensuite bathroom and toilet (also wheelchair accessible), and the bed and beddings were super comfy.
The view outside the Inn is marvelous!! Super nice to watch sunset.
Would definitely recommend!!
We enjoyed our stay in Jack's (website hidden) was very comfortable and Jack was a friendly host!
Great spot in Kells on the Ring of Kerry. Listing was accurate but general in terms of the types of rooms available. But Jack got back to us fast and has a lot of different options.
Our mini-apartment was perfect with two bedrooms, bath, kitchen, and living room with enough beds and space for us all. Very clean and had all the right essentials of towels, bedding, kitchen stuff, etc.
Overall area was quiet, including the pub, but that was expected and perfect for us traveling off-season with the kids. The area is beautiful and the people friendly, helping us find some great local spots to check out.
We had a very nice welcome! We had super support in finding a place to eat! After dinner we returned to James and he opened the pub especially for us, even if it was actually closed. James was very nice and a wonderful chat partner. The room was just wonderful and the beds pre-heated.....felt like home
This was a very nice main hostel/b&b right off the main ring of Kerry route (about 30-45 mins from the northern end). We woke up to a view of the Irish coast which you can't beat. We came in the off season so there weren't as many fellow travelers but jack and his dad made us feel right at home, insisted we come down for a pint and even opened their store just for us to sell us a couple of Irish wool sweaters. The room itself was plain but clean and had its own bathroom, a bit chilly even with the space heater but again we came in winter and we noticed this was pretty normal in most of the places we stayed. We also helped ourselves to a continental breakfast before we got on our way in the am. Overall would definitely recommend for those doing the drive around the ring of Kerry!
Jack is a true gentleman and host. We arrived to Cáitíns late in the evening to a large group of hill walkers singing old Irish songs. I asked for a bulmers and the bar man offered to me a delicious cider from Cork called Stonewell (must try).
The room was absolutely gorgeous with ensuite, and I couldn't believe my ears when Jack said that the electric blanket and heater was on, a man after my own heart. We woke the next morning to the most outstanding view of the mountains and sea. This place is a hidden gem. We only stayed one night but I will most definitely be back, thanks Jack!
Amazing location and place, I was the only one staying there this night but even then Jack opened the pub to draft me a guinness and some bottles of beer for the evening. Had the massive lounge and kitchen all to myself, great to relax after a long day. I'm sure this is a great place in peak season, filled with atmosphere. The location right by the ocean is fantastic, great morning views!
The room itself was pre-heated so always felt comfortable. Highly recommended!
