Quiet country life just minutes from downtown Asheville, our contemporary studio has everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Contemporary studio apartment for rent, suitable for one person or a couple (one double bed). Living room with flat-screen TV (DVD player and Roku) and wireless internet provided, bedroom area with double bed (all linens provided), fully stocked kitchen, bathroom with shower. 7 miles or 10 minutes from downtown Asheville in east Asheville. 5 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and awesome hiking spots. We are situated in a 3-home private eco-community in the mountains right outside the city (Asheville). We have small dairy goats, vegetable gardens and live a quiet sustainable country life with Asheville's nightlife, restaurants, theaters, and fantastic hiking only a short 10 minute drive away. If this sounds like a place you would enjoy, please contact me after checking calendar for available dates. Studio apartment is very private with separate parking and private patio overlooking trees, goats pastures, and cow pastures.
We are in the country outside Asheville (but only 7 miles)-- buses don't run out here so it's important to have your own transportation.
We don't use cable TV anymore but have endless entertainment on Roku-- we have subscriptions for Netflix and HuluPlus for both movies and TV shows.
IMPORTANT: We have a lovely sweet labrador retriever, who is a rambunctious and super friendly 4 year old, and one cat who is dog friendly. If you are afraid of dogs or don't like them, you should probably consider something else.
Also, the goat area is fenced in with high voltage electric wire to keep predators out. Inside the goats pen, feel free to play with the goats! They are very friendly.
Interaction with Guests
You will have little, if any, interaction with your hosts here, unless you need us for anything. We like our guests to have quiet and privacy. However if you are interested in the goats or gardens, we're happy to show them off!
Smoking is not permitted, except outside.
Dogs are permitted on a case by case basis.
Please ask and describe your dog and I will consider it.
I have 1 dogs and 1 cat but I do not take cats with guests because of allergy issues with guests.
We had a wonderful stay at Julia's Air BnB! Julia was warm and welcoming and the space felt like a home for our 5 day stay. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean and the kitchen was stocked with utensils, dishes, cups, mugs and cookware in addition to access to an electric stove, fridge, microwave, coffee machine, and toaster oven...pretty much anything you could need. Julia was very accommodating after our flight landed four hours behind schedule. Upon our request, Julia even provided us with a scale which we used to make sure our luggage was packed evenly. Although optional, we very much enjoyed interacting with her wonderful dog, and her friendly and cuddly goats! We saw Julia working outside on a daily basis, and she was always friendly, but otherwise allowed us to come and go while enjoying our vacation. We highly recommend Julia's Air BnB as the perfect place to enjoy a visit to Asheville!
We were recently in Asheville for a wedding and while we didn't get to spend much time in the studio and it rained almost the whole time, it was the perfect place to stay. Julia was extremely accommodating (even providing hand written maps of local hiking trails) and the studio is close to everything we wanted to see in the Asheville area. The grounds are beautiful and Milo and the goats are just an added bonus! I just wish we had more time and better weather to enjoy all the studio has to offer.
Julia was superb. She greeted me as soon as I arrived (I had been giving her travel updates via text to make sure she knew when to expect me) and set me up immediately. I did not spend much time in the studio, as I was celebrating my best friend's 40th birthday in Asheville with a full schedule of activities, but the accommodations were exactly as described. The space was cozy, inviting, and perfectly clean. The surroundings were serene, private, and gorgeous - a wonderful display of North Carolina's woods. I wish I had had more time to hike around and get to know Milo and the goats better. But given my experience, I'm sure I'll get to do so next time, as I will undoubtedly reach out to Julia on my next visit to Asheville.
We had a wonderful stay at Julia's adorable Eco-Cottage. The studio was clean, inviting, and stocked with everything we needed for the week. It is a close distance to a grocery store called Ingles, Filo (a great coffee shop with bagels and french pasteries) and only about 10 miles from downtown Asheville. Her house is so peaceful, close to wonderful hiking trails, and as a MAJOR bonus Julia has the sweetest dog (Milo) and adorable, friendly goats (we were there for the birth of two!). This destination is PERFECT for people who love animals, nature, outdoor activities, and peace. If you're looking for city life - it's a short drive away.
Asheville itself (and the surrounding small towns) has sooooo much to explore, national parks and forests, beautiful falls...I cannot say enough.
Thank you, Julia, for your hospitality, wonderful recommendations, sharing your animals and space with us. I will definitely be recommending this location to all of my friends and family. We will be back!
I very much enjoyed my stay in the woody glen of eastern Asheville, thanks to Julia's welcoming and friendly demeanor. Her goats are adorable and give the place a nice "out of the city" feel. The studio was very clean and exceeded my expectations. Thank you, Julia!
Julia's place is cute, clean, and comfortable. The studio apartment is separate from her living quarters, so we were able to have privacy throughout the weekend. Julia was very friendly, welcoming us and showing us around when we first got there, and speaking when we saw her from time to time. She was always available by phone or text if a problem arose, although it didn't. She has a friendly 85-pound lab and about 6 or seven dwarf goats that were fun to see and learn about. Julia was happy to answer any questions about her animals. We were 5-10 minutes from anywhere we wanted to go in downtown Asheville. The neighborhood is somewhat rural, with rolling hills and large lots, very peaceful. The view from the patio is beautiful. I wouldn't hesitate to return here.
Julia was great! We had a wonderful time staying at her place, which had everything we needed. She was very attentive and quick to respond. Highly recommend her place. The goats and super friendly dog were a plus!
I'm a sustainable organic gardener in Asheville NC. I live in a tiny eco-cottage above the studio apartment on one wooded acre. I have a small herd of Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats who provide milk, cheese, love, and lots of fun! My micro-farm keeps me busy and I love sharing this lovely place in the world with people who share the same interests.
