Contemporary studio apartment for rent, suitable for one person or a couple (one double bed). Living room with flat-screen TV (DVD player and Roku) and wireless internet provided, bedroom area with double bed (all linens provided), fully stocked kitchen, bathroom with shower. 7 miles or 10 minutes from downtown Asheville in east Asheville. 5 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and awesome hiking spots. We are situated in a 3-home private eco-community in the mountains right outside the city (Asheville). We have small dairy goats, an aquaponics system, vegetable gardens and live a quiet sustainable country life with Asheville's nightlife, restaurants, theaters, and fantastic hiking only a short 10 minute drive away. If this sounds like a place you would enjoy, please contact me after checking calendar for available dates. Studio apartment is very private with separate parking and private patio overlooking trees, goats pastures, and cow pastures.
We are in the country outside Asheville (but only 7 miles)-- buses don't run out here so it's important to have your own transportation.
We don't use cable TV anymore but have endless entertainment on Roku-- we have subscriptions for Netflix and HuluPlus for both movies and TV shows.
IMPORTANT: I have a lovely sweet labrador retriever, who is a rambunctious and super friendly 3 year old, and one cat who is dog friendly. If you are afraid of dogs or don't like them, you should probably consider something else.
Also, the goat area is fenced in with high voltage electric wire to keep predators out. Inside the goats pen, feel free to play with the goats! They are very friendly.

Thank you so much!!!
Staying at Julia's studio was a truly wonderful experience. The space was very clean and had everything you could want for a weekend away. The kitchen was thoughtfully stocked with cooking implements and came complete with a cast iron skillet. It was a truly peaceful place, complete with some pretty cute goats and a very friendly lab for company if you so desire. There is also easy access to the Mountain-to-Sea Trail. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back!
My husband and I had a great time at Julia's! Julia is a gracious host, and the studio is very clean and cozy. It was the perfect size for my husband and I, and the location was very quiet and serene. It was only about 10 minutes from downtown and a few minutes to a supermarket. We had a great time playing with Julia's dog, Milo, and her goats! We would definitely stay there again on our next trip to Asheville.
Our stay at Julia's was everything that we had envisioned and more. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.
We had a great time at Julia's place! It was small and cozy, but just what we needed. We loved being in the mountains and a nice hilly run from the house. The location made exploring downtown a breeze. Not to mention my pup had a great time with Milo. Thanks so much for having us.
The Eco-Collage was clean, comfy, and charming, and a quick trip from some great trails and from downtown. Julia was super friendly and we loved playing with her sweet yellow lab and of course, the goats! We are already planning to come back in the spring.
I loved the secluded yet accessible location. The cottage was comfortable, clean, and seemed well equipped with anything you'd need for either a short or longer stay. Julia was great at communicating with us, accommodating our changed travel plans, and seemed unfazed by our very, very late arrival. (Lesson learned: road tripping in January is on Mother Nature's terms, not your own!) I have every intention of returning to the Asheville area for a longer stay when the weather is warmer, and I'd definitely like to stay at the eco-cottage again.
Great , inexpensive Asheville studio. Everything we needed. Ten minutes to downtown. Clean, comfortable. Great. Host - helpful but un instrusive
Julia's place was our first Airbnb experience and it was awesome! Julia is friendly and helpful. She is also a role model for sustainable living- we learned a lot from her! We were there during the polar vortex, so it was -2 F on our first morning. The electricity went out in the night, but Julia had a back up generator and we did not know the difference. The actual space was comfortable and cozy. The kitchen was fully equipped. We slept well and had safe, private parking. The location was convenient to Asheville- close enough to enjoy everything within 10-15 minutes, but far enough away to avoid parking issues and downtown noise. We hope to stay there again in the future and highly recommend Julia's place!
Julia's place was wonderful! Great location. Secluded, yet close to town. The goats are definitely a plus for animal lovers! I miss them already. Definitely will be back and definitely recommend her place. Perfect for couples.
