Quiet get-away 4 Mi. from the Baltimore harbor. The house is clean and peaceful. Two bedrooms available. Families welcome. Off-street parking. 1924 home: Colorful, comfortable and cozy with a vintage flair.

***If you would like to book two rooms, but for only 2 people, please use the rate for 4 people.***

Guestroom #1 (larger room with a Full size bed). This room sleeps 2. Guestroom #2 (smaller room with a Queen size bed). This room sleeps 2. And air mattress is available to accommodate up to six people, that would be placed on the floor in the larger of the guestrooms.

Check in is at 4 p.m. / Check out is at Noon.

Guests also have access to common areas, which include: dining room, kitchen, living room, bathroom, laundry room, backyard and porch areas. There is one full bathroom upstairs.

PLENTY of FREE street parking, or you can also park in the driveway. I am about 4 miles from downtown Baltimore and within walking distance (under 10 minutes) is a Safeway grocer, cafes, post office, and shops in the Lauraville neighborhood.

The house has a record player, WiFi, heating, window A/C units, full kitchen, and fenced in backyard with patio, a small front porch. This is a great place to relax, be creative, or get work done. There is no television ;)

There is a great park for walking, Herring Run Park, right behind the house. Also, .75 miles away is Lake Montebello with a great paved walking and a bicycle circuit.

I've put together a book of neighborhood business and maps of Baltimore / DC / Annapolis. There are a few great restaurants, cafes, and the grocery store in walking distance. You'll find this information in a binder in the room along with the "house rules" + wifi code info.

There is self-service coffee and tea. If cooking is your thing, you are welcome to store things in the refrigerator / pantry and make your own meals. Thanks!

The house is less than a 10 minute walk to the bus stops. Depending on where you're going, it can be a great way to get around town. Once you are at the train station, there is a free bus (The Charm City Circulator) which is convenient and runs every 10 minutes.

If you prefer to take drive or take a cab, you will be roughly 15 minutes from all downtown /neighborhood attractions: Fells Point, Hampden, Federal Hill and even Towson.

The house has lots of character (built in 1924) and is lovingly cared for. If you are a guest here, I thank you in advance for respecting my home and everything in it.

Guests are free to use the kitchen, dining area, living room, laundry room in the basement, private bathroom and the booked guest room(s). You will be the only guests here during your stay (I don't book the rooms separately to individual parties). You must tell me how many rooms you will need, as the unused rooms will be locked.

Arcadia / Lauraville is a GREAT residential neighborhood within the city of Baltimore. On the Lauraville strip (Harford Road) there are great local shops and coffeehouses along with a Safeway grocer all within walking distance. There is a park behind the house that is wonderful for jogging or just taking a stroll. There is also a lake with a running / biking circuit only .75 miles away. It's super quiet here and relaxing.

There are two bus stops available near the house (each a 5 min. walk). Getting downtown will take about 45 min. by bus. The number 19 is direct to the convention center. I'm only 4 miles from downtown, and by car it will take you between 10 - 20 minutes depending where you are going.

From the airport, you can either rent a car, take the MARC train to Penn Station (then get a cab / bus) or take the Light Rail to North Avenue (and call for a cab to meet you).

I will work with you at check in and check out. If you need me during your stay I'm just down the road. I'm happy to suggest local things to do, if you are looking for entertainment.

  • The listening was great. The house is very clean, comfortable and quiet.

  • We had a very good stay at Victoria's home. The house was clean, beautifully furnished, with a well stocked kitchen (for cooking). The neighborhood was nice and we really enjoyed walking in the nearby parks. Victoria was responsive and helped us out with a couple of special requests. Would recommend the home to others.

  • What a delightful abode. A classic craftsman-style home with an amazing proportion of its original details. Victoria needs to create an audio guide -- seriously -- of all the finer points. If you're a student of architectural history, you should see this place. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay!

  • I greatly enjoyed my stay at Victoria's. She has a very welcoming home. Although she was away for my stay, she was very accommodating. I'd recommend her to anyone.

  • I had a great time at Victoria's 'Quiet get-away'. The rooms were very clean and Victoria was very helpful in our accommodations. I would highly recommend the 'Quiet get-away' to anyone looking for a place to stay in Baltimore.

  • Absolutely wonderful! Victoria was great-she worked with us on our arrival and was easy to contact when we were ready to leave. Her home is very inviting and comfortable for me and my 2 girls. Thanks Victoria for helping make it easy to visit my sister!

  • Everything about the the house and about Victoria was delightful. I spent my birthday weekend with my friends there and it was the height of coziness and comfort. Every detail of the accommodations is so thought through and all the necessities are at your fingertips. Victoria even had neighborhood guides and pamphlets in the room and she took her time orienting me to the community there. She was responsive to my changing needs, in terms of accommodations, and would answer my texts within minutes. I will definitely be returning to this quiet get-away and to the delightful company of the host, Victoria. I cannot recommend the place enough.

  • My husband and I had a lovely weekend at Victoria's quiet home! We enjoyed a long walk in the park adjacent to her house and took advantage of some great restaurants in the neighborhood. The house itself was charming and comfortable. What a lovely weekend!

About
My name is Victoria and I'm a full time performing singer/songwriter and play the ukulele. I love to cook, travel (both for fun and work), speak french fluently, ride a bicycle, drink coffee, buy local, recycle, compost, drink wine, eat great food and listen to and play music ;) My home is great for families and friends, and extended stays. I'm 10 - 15 minutes from everywhere you'd want to go in Baltimore city. Having a car is ideal, however, some guests have used the bus system without a hitch (about a 45 min. ride to the Inner Harbor). I have two bedrooms available: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/259485 I live here at the house, but travel often. You may have the whole house to yourself. Also, regardless whether I am here or not, the upstairs bathroom is yours for your private use during your stay.
