About This Listing
This is a Hanok Korean Traditional Guest house.
We welcome you to a traditional Korean Hanok styled house as our family has been living here for the last three quarter of century. The house is located in the old part of Korea where all the touristic locations (Dongdaemun, Myungdong, City Hall, Namsan and Itaewon) are all within 15 minutes by subway line 1 & 2 (Shinseoldong Station).
If you are a traveller who wants to experience traditional Korean Hanok house as well as normal Korean lifestyle, this is a perfect place to stay. We also have large open air courtyard where you can enjoy after a long day of travel. We call this place Dal Byul (Moon & Star) because you could actually enjoy quiet rest on a large yard under the Moon and Star.

Hanok living has been one of my trip's highlights and I'm glad I did it at Ji Yeong's home. She has been a warm and hospitable host who welcomed me with fruits that help me cool down a little on day of arrival which was pretty hot. She also answered patiently all my pre-trip queries and advised me how to reach the airport in the fastest way to catch my early flight home.
Although the 10mins' walk from nearest sinseldong station wasn't a direct route but I was guided well by photos of key landmarks of each turn or intersection that Ji Yeong provided. The walk also gave me the chance to experience her quaint neighborhood and see for myself how Seoul living is like. I found myself missing home a little lesser. Thanks Ji Yeong and family!!
Nice location, close to subway station, and the host was helpful, they prepared a very clear guide to find the house. So easy!
A very positive experience for us to stay in korean style house.
Both jiyeong and Paul are super nice people,we stay for 3 nights , mattress and floor heating which really made the stay comfortable during the cold early summer. The
The only thing annoyed us is the place is hard to find and far away from subway station
The adress is not the same as the one shown on airbnb. Even the address is in Korean but still confused the taxi driver.
Ji Yeong and her daughter are very sweet and the house is lovely. The room I stayed in had a full kitchen with fridge, stove, sink, microwave etc which would make it great of a longer stay. I only stayed two nights and arrived very late the first night so I didn't quite get to enjoy it fully. The room is clean, comfortable, and spacious. Towels, shampoo, hair dryer, etc were also provided. There was even some tea, a package of instant noodles, and T-money cards left for me to use. The only downside for me was that it is pretty hard to get to. I got incredibly lost the first night (unfortunately i didn't have wifi) and only made it because I went to a convenience store and some local college kids walked me all the way to the house. Also, it seems like the address listed on airbnb and the actual address are different, so it was hard to pinpoint the (website hidden) Ji Yeong was very welcoming even though I arrived really late at night.
Ji Yeong is really nice and easy to communicate with. The house is fantastic and provides us a great experience of the Korean traditional house. She gave us very detailed information about how to get to their houses. The subway station is about 10 mins walk. In all, we enjoyed our stay in their house and would definitely recommend to anyone who travel to Seoul!
This was a great place to stay. My father wanted to stay in a hanok house and this was a great choice as hanok hotels can be rather pricey. The location was pretty easy to find, tucked away in a quiet neighborhood about 10 min from the subway station. It isn't as convenient as other places to visit some of the sights of Seoul but still convenient enough to travel via subway or bus to the major landmarks. Jiyoeng and her friendly daughter greeted us upon arrival and we were given a key to the front gate so that we can come and go as we please. Our mini house off the main house has a code to get in which made things easy. It is a very quiet neighborhood so it was easy to sleep well and comfortably. You have everything you need for an extended stay including a microwave, electric kettle, dishes and 2 refrigerators! A giant one which I don't know how they even got it in the room, and a a mini one. Everything was clean and comfortable, though you should make sure that there are 3 "bars" for the water heater otherwise your shower will be on the cooler side. Jiyeong was very responsive and had an answer to all my questions and concerns. Very welcoming to her home. I would definitely stay here again for the comfort and hospitality.
