Beautiful new apartment, completely remodeled in 2013. This apartment is nestled on a property that is covered with mango trees, pines, palms & avocados. Centered in the midst of the hot spots in St. Pete and the beaches, check also Mi Casa, Su Casa, my other listing, on the first floor.
The apartment has one bedroom with a queen size bed and a futon that turns into a queen bed in the living room. It is ideal for two guests , could be a little tight for 4.

The space

It is a very nice apartment on a second floor,(please check also Mi Casa su Casa in the first floor), completely renovated, clean and comfortable. It has one queen size bed in the bedroom and one futon that turns into a full size bed in the living room. It is perfect for 2 people, a little tight for 4. We live in the main house and can be reached very easily for any questions or if you need something. The fenced yard has lots of space to sit around and relax. You can use the hammocks or relax in the chairs and light up the fire pit and make smores with the kids :). If you come in a big group, you could book the downstairs apartment too, please look for my other listing: Mi Casa su Casa.
Please park your vehicle in the back yard. Thank you.

The outside space was nice although we didn't see a firepit like it suggests in the pictures. We didn't spend any time out there anyway so it didn't really matter. It's confusing to get to the back apartments so make sure you clarify with Pilar first where you are supposed to go in at. If there is another person staying in the other unit, parking can get pretty tight in the backyard. Locking and unlocking the gate constantly is kind of annoying but at least your car is safer! It's a very nice home in a nice neighborhood. Another thing I would say is not to expect this place to be very quiet. Pilar was doing yard work in the mornings a couple times and some dog nearby barking up a storm. It has an awesome outdoor area to relax in at night if you have nothing else going on. Also there are two video cameras in the backyard for your safety but don't be trying to get away with anything! Haha. I just feel like you should know you're on camera. I probably wouldn't stay here again just because of parking and noise, but it's definitely a good, affordable option!

Response from Pilar:
Hi Courney, sorry about the noise. I have to do the yard work sometime like in every house or hotel. I did it at 10 am. So I guess I did not wake you up. When it rains, like it has been in the past 2 weeks, there can be some ant issues. I wish you would have told me and I could have sprayed the ant and bug killer. Sorry about that. I will put a better description on how to park in the back. I have had no problems in 3 years with this but I guess for some people it can be a bit confusing. Thanks for the suggestion.

This apartment is a great value. The pictures are very accurate. The kitchen was stocked with everything we could have needed. We had a party of 3 and it was the perfect size. Pilar was very easy to get ahold of. We enjoyed the beautiful outdoor seating area and even used the grill one night. (Terry, Pilar's husband, even had the grill heated up for us as he had used it right before!) The bathroom is a little small but we made it work with 3 females. I would definitely stay at Pilar's place again. This is a perfect location for the money!

Response from Pilar:
Hi Caitlin, thank you so much for your kind review. I just wanted to apologize if you got a review from me by mistake I wrote a bad review for some kids that stayed in the apartment right after you. They did not respected the house rules and I had to ask them to leave. That review went to you but its been removed immediately, so its no longer there. (it took like 3 or 4 minutes total to remove it). Thank you again for your stay, thank you for the recommendations and hope to see you again sometime. :) Pilar

Awesome place for 2 people, will probably be cramped with more. Pilar was a great host and very easy to communicate with. Easy access to bars and beach. Cute little area in the backyard. One thing I would say is that the bed is a little hard, otherwise it was a great place to stay!

We had a lovely stay at Pilar's! The place was comfortable, clean and charming. The name is very fitting - the view from the bedroom really makes you feel nestled in the trees. Pilar's instructions were easy to follow and when we ran into each other briefly, her and her husband were friendly and welcoming. A great place to stay if you want a local St. Pete experience with proximity to the beaches. The backyard is incredible! We had a great time relaxing in the hammocks.

Clean, bright and welcoming. Comfy bed, good sized kitchen. Awesome outdoor space with a grill and ample room for sitting around the table or relaxing in a hammock. Pilar was responsive and respectful of our privacy. Only complaint was the kitchen was missing supplies we assumed would be there (full knife set, dishrags...) Overall a good experience. Would book again.

Hi there! My name is Pilar, I am an artist and painter. I work locally as a real estate agent. I am originally from Ecuador and I love to visit new places and meet people. I have lived in different countries: Ecuador, USA (Cambridge,MD and Orlando) ,Mexico D.F., and Italy. When I first came to Saint Petersburg, I just fell in love with the city. The old houses, big old oak trees with Spanish moss, the beaches, Gulfport and the little restaurants and art shows, farmer markets and that Key West- like charm. Everybody is so relaxed and friendly!!! I had to move here!!! So, I found this cute little and very old house (1924) with a huge Oak in the front!! and have spent this last year remodeling it. My husband Terry and I live in the front house and the 2 apartments are in the back. We love to sail in Terry's boat and we would be so happy to have you as our guests!! :)
