More like a house than an apartment. It's a truly spacious Victorian Duplex in heart of Greenpoint/Willamsburg Brooklyn.
Just one stop on the L train to Manhattan. (a 5 minute subway ride) Greenpoint is safe, fun, and more interesting than Manhattan. It has the heart of New York's progressive presence with galleries, boutique shops, and the best restaurants and cafes; created by the heart and souls of New York's young and innovative. McCarren Park is 1 block away with a large green space, playgrounds, track and a Farmer's Market on Saturdays.
The furnishings are simple, comfortable, and cheerful. It's a house with a very good feel, built in 1872, and has many charming original details.

This apartment is great! Kristen was very accommodating and friendly and was able to work with my busy schedule to deliver the keys. I often have to rent places for my job and this place is so spacious and in a very nice quiet neighborhood in Greenpoint. Thanks!
Kristen was a very friendly, gracious hostess. She met us on arrival and had set out books for our children to read as well as a guide to NYC markets. The kitchen was spacious and the bedrooms were colorful and sunny. The apartment is located between two parks, McCarren Park and one on West St on the water with a great view of Manhattan. It is close to Williamsburg, natural food stores, and around the corner is a vintage clothing store. I would recommend this apartment for anyone with children three or older.

Kristen was welcoming and helpful both before and during our stay. She greeted us when we arrived and showed us around, she also helped us map out several places in the neighborhood to check out and shared info about best ways to et to Manhattan etc.
We are a family of five with two teenagers and we were all quite comfortable here. There are three bedrooms, a full bath, a completely serviceable kitchen and a lovely backyard deck for a little break.
We really enjoyed Brooklyn and had a couple of great meals in the neighborhood, there is also a great coffee shop just across the street.
My only reservation is that the house is a little less convenient to Manhattan sight-seeing than we would have liked. We didn't have a lot of time and were trying to cram a lot in to one visit, so the travel times in between things we wanted to do and were a bit of a disappointment.
However, if you're visiting someone in Brooklyn or spending more than a couple of days, this is a great location and a great house.
We had great meals at both 5 Leaves and D.O.C Wine Bar in Brooklyn.
My family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teenagers) stayed in Kristen's spacious apartment for 6 nights and really enjoyed relaxing there after some busy days of sightseeing in Manhatten. The apartment is delighfully old fashioned and full of charm - if you want the blandness of modern facilities such as power showers then book into a hotel - however if you want to stay somewhere beautifully quirky and interesting then this place is ideal. Kristen is a perfect host - she was very keen to provide everything we needed to make our stay as comfortable as possible and was happy to answer any queries we had during our stay. The surrounding area is great for bars, restaurants and shops and has a nice laid back feel to it with the advantage that the apartment is on a quiet street and is not at all noisy at night. Travelling into Manhatten is very quick and easy from the 2 nearby subway stations. I would recommend this apartment as a great place to stay for a perfect holiday in New York and would definitely book again if we ever return.
