More like a house than an apartment. It's a truly spacious Victorian Duplex in heart of Greenpoint/Willamsburg Brooklyn.
Just one stop on the L train to Manhattan. (a 5 minute subway ride) Greenpoint is safe, fun, and more interesting than Manhattan. It has the heart of New York's progressive presence with galleries, boutique shops, and the best restaurants and cafes; created by the heart and souls of New York's young and innovative. McCarren Park is 1 block away with a large green space, playgrounds, track and a Farmer's Market on Saturdays.
The furnishings are simple, comfortable, and cheerful. It's a house with a very good feel, built in 1872, and has many charming original details.
(Master Bedroom= 1 Queen bed + 1 twin bed
2nd Bedroom =1 Double bed
3rd Bedroom =1 Double bed)
Large eat-in kitchen, even larger living room, sunny deck overlooking the garden.
A well loved home.....

Great stay at Kristen's. Very convenient and comfortable house !
Kristen is a wonderful hostess, the house was fantastic and spacious and she responded quickly to all our questions. Had a great time in New York. Hopefully we will come back in this house and in New York.
Hi, I'm Alex. I'm French and I wanted to visit New York.
I found the holiday property 'it's like country in the city'.
The house is very large and comfortable. it is clearly old, but clean and with lots of character. The kitchen is welcoming. We were 7 persons and all people was eating at the same time.
Kristen is a cool host. The house is located in a quiet location( in heart of Greenpoint/Willamsburg Brooklyn)).
The subway is really near of the house (20 minutes travel from Manhattan (Times Square).
Probably I will come back ;-) And Thanks Kristen for the taxi. we are arrived on time at the airport :-)
The house - which is what it feels like - is incredible. Amazingly high ceilings, huge rooms and great communal space. Character everywhere, without any of the annoying problems you sometimes get in older properties. Location is perfect; literally opposite the subway, a few minutes from McCarren Park and 10 mins from Transmitter Park. All the best brunch places on Bedford Ave are a short stroll away, as is Bedford Ave subway. The street the house is on is very quiet, despite being one minute from Manhattan Ave. The house even has a terrace out the back! And Kristen is very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended. We hope to be back at some point and will definitely stay here again if its available
Lovely house, great neighborhood.
the house is big and old which is mainly charming, although it could use a little paint and attention at some places. But it has definitely enough space for a family to be comfortable, and it was very clean and welcoming.
Kristen is a friendly charming host whom we didnt see when we arrived, but the key was ready and we got in easiliy. We got in contact with her later in the week and she gave us some good tips and even some self made T-shirts!
After a week of walking tours around the entire city we concluded that Williamsburg and greenpoint are in fact the best neighborhoods to stay in, nice and friendly, with the real New York feeling and lots of (trendy) restaurants and bars, but without the hassle of Manhattan and with great views from the water side. The street that the house is in is quiet, so it really does feel like country in the city. And Manhattan is only minutes away, either by ferry (views!) or subway.
I could anybody recommend to stay in Kristens house.
You will have a great time!
First the positives, great location - Greenpoint not too trendy which is a plus in my book. Terrace at the back lovely and there was loads of space inside the house. All the kitchen appliances worked well. Kristen responded quickly and her agent turned up on time to meet us with the key. Plenty of hot water and the internet worked well. But the house needed quite a bit of maintenance, some new furniture (one sofa was resting on bricks) and a more reliable satellite picture on the TV. We didn't meet Kristen but judging from the other reviews she's a lovely helpful host but the house would benefit from some updating.
Unfortunately, the reality of this place does not meet up to the cosy pictures at all. A disappointing experience after many good ones.
Great location, excellent size, very responsive host, great for families. The one bathroom was a bit difficult for the amount of people, but everyone managed fine. The master bedroom and kitchen are great rooms for hanging out in. The location is great and the street, though central to many great cafes and restaurants, is very quiet.
Kristen's house is really great! we would definitely rent it again in future because she is a great host! very uncomplicated and if you have a question she and her son bailey are helping you at all times.
the only harm about the house is that there's just one bathroom.. it's a bit tricky for 6 people (as we were), but with a bit organization it works out.
the neighborhood is quite recommendable... its very quiet and in the mornings you have a very good coffee bar directly across the street.
To Manhattan it's just a stone throw from the house and the ride from and to jfk-airport by public transport is also very relaxed (about 45 minutes drive)
Kristen was great about communicating with me. She met us when we arrived, and provided plenty of sets of keys and a nice tour of the place -- it is clearly old, but clean and with lots of character. The home was very convenient to our wedding activities in Brooklyn, and right next to the G subway stop.
I have three small children, and it was wonderful for them to have a large home to run around in during downtime. The kitchen was stocked with all but food, and there were even some blocks and books for them to play with!
Everything was as described in the profile.
