Comfortably furnished 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath a 10 minutes stroll to Ashland's theaters and plaza. Ample off-street parking, a bbq on the deck and a central living room make this an ideal family and friend meeting place.

The historic district in Ashland is a residential neighborhood. We are near a doctors offices, B & B's, town houses and homes. It is quiet yet 7 blocks to the Plaza.
Park your car and walk. Grocery store is 7 to 8 blocks, so you might want to get groceries first, but after that walking is the best way visit down town and see the plays.
No smoking of anything on the property.
Be kind to the neighbors, keep it relatively quiet after 10pm and no parties. I do allow the occasional dog, with an additional fee, but they must be pre-approved.
Very beautiful property, within walking distance to downtown Ashland. We really enjoyed our stay, especially bbq in the front porch.
PROS: 1) This small home is divided into three units, has a large parking area, and is in a quiet area that is close to other townhouses and apartment rentals. Our part of the house was comfortable, although we were not allowed to open windows as the AC is run 24/7 - not bad during the days with 94 degree weather.
2) An easy drive or pleasant 8-block walk to reach downtown Ashland.
CONS: 1) My party left the house exactly as we found it (minus used towels and facilities for showers, restroom, and unmade beds). The owner said that we had left a "mess" and wanted an additional $100 since it took her cleaning crew three hours to clean. I know that we did not damage her property and said that hotel establishments are required to take care of their own cleaning, and that I would not pay any more money. She stopped her emails after that. *Not a good sign when people try to collect additional "fees".
2) My mother developed a red swelling (half of her right forearm) after using a blanket that was located in a trunk in a bedroom. I do not know if was an allergy she had to the blanket, if the blanket had bugs, etc. I politely let the owner know of this, not requesting anything from her, just that there might be a cleanliness issue. She said that her items were clean. I have no idea if they were clean or not, just passing this information on.
3) No radio or way to play CD's. If you like t.v., the television gets QVC, and a few t.v. channels, and there are a couple of Netflix-type options. I would have preferred to have access to music, but that's just personal taste.
4) And another concern: no low-flow in the shower, a toilet that runs constantly, not great on water conservation.
It was nice to visit Ashland again, but next time, I will stay elsewhere.
How to respond? The house has 2 flats, not 3. A 3 bedroom, which they were in, and a 1 bedroom, which they were not in. Opening the windows while the AC is running is our guests choice, although I sincerely appreciate that she did not run the AC and open the windows open at the same time, as there was a heat wave during her stay. 1) Two set of sheets were stained and the rugs soiled. One set of sheets was not salvageable. As stated in the policy, cleaning that is in excess of normal will be charged back to the guest. I consider damaged sheets and carpet cleaning to be excessive excessive. At the very least she should have attempted to wash the sheets. There is a washer and dryer in the house. 2) The blankets are wool, so perhaps her mom has an allergy to wool or maybe she had a mosquito or bug bite that she reacted to. 3) The shower head is a water saver and try as I might, I could not get the toilet to flow for me. Finally, I don't advertise a radio, but one is available through the ROKU box, which I do provide. Instructions on the use is in the house binder.
