It depends on my schedule. Sometimes I'm around quite a bit, other times I'm busy teaching and running my school next door, or out of town. I like to meet the guests and spend time with them if I can.

Check In
  • I lived in this neighborhood for eight years so I was thrilled to find a listing in it. This is far and away my favorite neighborhood in the city. Fillmore Street which is two blocks away is great. Lots of good places to eat and lively without being crowded. It's also easy to get from this neighborhood to any other part of the city. An excellent base for tourists. Also, literally down the street is Japantown which is a fascinating destination in its own right.

There are three rooms in property: two big ones and one tiny one. I'm a big guy, but the tiny room was fine for five days. The mattress is new and perfect. I slept like a baby. (The street is very quiet.) There's lot of public space in the house: the living room, the kitchen, the breakfast room and the backyard. (It's amazing to have a backyard in SF!)

If you have mobility problems, know that the house is on a steep street and the stairs to the second floor are traditional SF (small and steep, but not as bad as Dutch stairs) There are two bannisters which helps a lot.

Ronda the host is wonderful. Very kind and accommodating.

  • I love airbnb for leading me to Ronda's beautiful home. I was in SF for an audition, and not only did Ronda's home give me amazing luck, I feel like I'm leaving this city with a new friend. Ronda was extremely welcoming, interesting and accommodating. Her home is full of character, shelves of books, and beautiful and unique artwork. It is conveniently located (just steps from Japantown and close to main lines of public transportation) and I always felt safe in the neighborhood. I would return to SF just to stay here again!!

  • Great neighborhood, if you like Victorian houses, nice views and Japanese food (which I do). Cool house. It's kind of like staying at your hippie intellectual aunt's place. Comfy beds, lots of books and art. Plenty of reading nooks.

  • Ronda was very accommodating and sweet. The location was great too. We had a lovely time in San Francisco.

  • Ronda was a great host, very knowledgeable and accommodating. The place is in a great locale, steps away from Fillmore, Japantown and lower Pacific Heights. The nearby Lafayette and Alta Vista have to be two of the best city parks out there with their views.

The entire stay was very home-y, relaxing and with a side of fresh blueberry pancakes (literally). Would definitely stay again.

  • Rhonda's home was the perfect place to stay, a home away from home. She is a warm and sweet host, who made us feel welcome. We had parking which is a big plus in the middle of the city! Thanks Rhonda. Hope to stay here the next time we visit San Francisco.

I have been a Spanish language and cultures educator for 40 years, having worked in public and private educational systems from pre-k to college, graduate school, and adult education for 20 years, before starting my own institute, WEEKEND en español®, now celebrating our 22nd year. I have traveled throughout most of Latin America and Spain over the years, and a few European countries, but my main focus in recent years has been Mexico, where I travel for business and pleasure. I was born and raised in San Francisco, have lived in other cities, but have been back in my home town, and living in my wonderful Victorian house for 32 years. My home has art, books, and treasures from my many adventures. Since I travel frequently, and have my school right next door to my home and can stay there too, I am able to rent out my home to fellow travelers who want to have a real San Francisco experience. My home is in one of the City's most popular neighborhoods--lower Pacific Heights/the Fillmore. We have great dining and shopping, parks, beautiful streets and houses to see and enjoy, easy access to bus lines and main arteries, and great ethnic and street fairs!
