If you want to go back in time to see how Barcelona may have looked during medieval times and before, come and stay at our apartment in Barcelona's most popular neighbourhood, El Born. Aside from the trendy shops, restaurants and modern transportation, very little has changed over the years. From the small winding streets to the large squares where people go for lunch or dinner, El Born is undoubtedly the best place to spend your holidays in Barcelona.
Just a stone’s throw from the stunning 14th century Santa Maria del Mar church, our apartment is perfectly located. You have the main thoroughfare in the neighbourhood, Passeig del Born, (an old jousting ground) right around the corner, so you are literally in the heart of everything the moment you step out of the door. Within five minutes you can walk to the beach, the port, the Ramblas, and the beautiful Ciutadella Park. You also have several buses, two metro stations and the international train station Franca within a 3 minute walk.
Our apartment is on the fourth floor of one of the oldest buildings in the area (no elevator so great for keeping fit and working off all that tapas!). It is full of gothic charm with low beamed ceilings and a view to one of the most historical arched streets in the neighbourhood. The street is also pedestrianised so you don't have to put up with noisy traffic all of the time, and only have a little noise on weekends from the adjoining Passeig - a small price to pay for such a great location!
With two bedrooms (one open-plan double and one single), the apartment can host up to three people and is equipped with everything you need to explore the city, including WIFI and cooking facilities. It has just been renovated so is all freshly painted and restored with a combination of vintage, up-cycled and brand new furniture. Prices start from €60 for two people - for the entire apartment! In this location you are unlikely to find anything as good... more to spend in the local boutiques and experiencing all that this beautiful city has to offer. :)
As your hosts, Chris (airbnb user 493394) and I (Sarah) are here to look after you and can provide you with all the information you need on where to go and what to do during your stay. We provide all the latest city magazines so you know what's happening while you are here and to make you feel at home, we even throw in a few essentials such as freshly baked bread, milk, tea, coffee... and Spanish wine!
Please note - we only make up the single bedroom on request, so please let me know in advance if you require it - otherwise it makes a perfect space for dressing, storing luggage, etc.
Feel free to drop me a line with any questions. :)
Sarah is an excellent host and has the most wonderful little apartment in El Born, Barcelona. She greeted us bang on time with a bottle of wine and a list of recommendations and places of interest as long as your arm- having not been to Barcelona in a long time, this was an amazing resource.
If you're looking for a lovely quirky apartment, authentic places to visit and wonderful insider tips on the best places to go, you should choose this place.
We will definitely be visiting again and couldn't recommend the place highly (website hidden). The stairs are not an issue at all and it helps to work off some of the Cava and Tapas!! :-)
Loved our stay here! Sarah was incredibly friendly and offered great suggestions for things to see, do and eat while we were there. The apartment itself is beautifully decorated and in such a great part of Barcelona. We had such a great time at all the restaurants and wine bars close by.
Sarah is a fantastic host and her place was simply perfect to me. Close to everything and in a truly charming neighborhood. I strongly reccomend the host and the apartment.
Sarah was a wonderful host who left no questions unanswered. The house was in extremely good condition and was done up so tastefully, sending us to another time. Must recommend the house to whoever is travelling to Barcelona anytime in the future.
We had a fantastic time in Sarah's apartment. After spending hours going through reviews of apartments on AirBnB we are so glad we chose this apartment! As others have mentioned there are quite a few stairs to get to the apartment, however dragging our 4 suitcases up and down the stairs was worth it! The location of the apartment is fantastic, with a Metro, bus stop and lot's of fantastic bars and restaurants in close proximity. We walked nearly everywhere and the location of the apartment allows you to do this no trouble. Sarah gave us lot's of fantastic information and recommendations about places to eat/drink and things to see close by. The apartment has everything you need, including facilities to make food in the apartment if you don't feel like eating out for every meal. We wouldn't hesitate to book this apartment again on our next visit to Barcelona!
Great location and really felt like home! Also the tips provided by Sarah are really helpful.
Such a lovely space and area! We loved the apartment--very tiny but charming and perfectly laid out. It was very clean, and beautifully decorated. Sarah was lovely--we'd stay again in a flash.
Stayed here over New Years - Wonderful apartment right on the doorstep of the Picasso museum and the windy streets of the gothic region with so many tapas and wine bars to choose from just minutes away. Highly recommended!
We had the best time staying at Sarah's place in Barcelona. The location is perfect. It's conveniently located by several great restaurants, bars, bakeries, a small little grocery shop. Her place is less than a 5 minutes walk to the metro and 10 minutes to the beach. The stairs weren't really an issue. Yes, they are narrow and carrying luggage up them can be a pain, but this is a small price to pay. Sarah was very friendly and extremely helpful. The recommendations she provided were invaluable (You MUST eat at Petra, like most of the local restaurants space is limited, so be sure to plan ahead). The apartment itself was very clean and nicely decorated. We will definitely be staying here again if we have the chance.
We had a lovely stay in Sarah's apartment. She gave us a warm welcome and lots of great tips. The apartment was cozy and very comfortable and provided a quiet retreat from the bustle of the city. The location was perfect - we fell in love with the El Born neighborhood and everything else was in easy reach. I would definitely stay here again! (The only caveat I have to offer is if you have trouble with stairs the hike up to the 4th floor may not be for you.)
