I have four rooms at La Buena Nota Building located in Manuel Antonio 600 meters before the national park (between hotels Karahe & Pisces) at beach level. We have a treetop view but not an ocean view although it is a short 100 yards on a path next door to the beach. All the rooms have a double bed and AC. Each apartment has two rooms which are rented individually. Sorry we don’t accept children under 15 and no overnight guests that are not registered. Sorry breakfast is not served but there is a nice. cafe next door. Sorry no arrivals after 6 pm
There is a living room with cable TV and internet and a full kitchen for use of all our rooms. There is off street parking but not with security gates. This apartment has two rooms so unless you rent both (3 & 4) you may have to share the apartment.
Interaction with Guests
I don't live on site but will be there to let you in. I do need to know within an hour of the time you will be arriving and don't usually receive guests at night.
We are 600 meters before the National Park. It is a short walk to the beach by a path next door. Everything is pretty much within walking distance.
Everything is pretty much within walking distance but if you wish to to go out at night or go to downtown Quepos there is excellent bus service which stops right in front of the building. Taxis are plentiful and not very costly. We have off street but not security parking.
Other Things to Note
There is a full kitchen, living room and large deck. Cable TV and WIFI are also provided. There are outside faucets for washing sand off before taking a shower. Sorry no children under 15. The bathroom is shared with one other room.
No overnights guests that are not registered please.
Smoking on the outside deck only.
This was my partner Chris and my first time in Manuel Antonio and in Costa Rica, and Anita made us feel very welcome! I told her we'd be arriving around 2pm, and when we got there around 1:45 she was there waiting for us. We happened to have the entire apartment to ourselves for our two-night stay, since no one else was staying there at the same time, but we would happily have shared the kitchen and large deck with another person or group. The apartment was super roomy and the kitchen was fully stocked with pots and pans for cooking. We picked up some basic ingredients at the market in Quepos, made breakfast both days, and ate out on the deck. The beach is a 3-minute walk away; the national park is roughly 15-minutes away walking. I'd definitely recommend this place to others.
Everything was as expected. Anita was waiting for us, was very pleasant and informative. The place was very confortable, the air conditioning definitely a need in Manuel Antonio. I forgot a toiletry kit and Anita was kind enough to contact me and return the next day to allow me to pick it up.
Great place to stay for the price. It was amazing having a path right next to the house that lead to the beach. Anita was very nice and was so helpful. We loved our stay and ended up booking two additional days.
Anita received us very well. We arrived at the apartment and she was waiting for us. She offered us valuable information about the city of Quepos and Manuel Antonio.
The apartment is really close to the National Park, about 15 minutes walk and only 150 meters from a beautiful beach which also offers various attractions and small bars.
We were lucky to share the common areas of the apartment (kitchen, dining room and bathroom) with a nice pair of Swedes. Every morning, a family of white faced monkeys approached the balcony of the apartment, which was fun.
We recommend the place.
Anita has a great apartment in a perfect location if you are planning a trip to Manuel Antonio. The apartment is right by the beach and the main road that connects Quepos to Manuel Antonio. Through the duration of my 4-day, 3-night trip, I was able to walk everywhere and for those who prefer not to do that have the option to take the bus from just across the street from the apartment. The beach is a short 2-minute walk and is even partially visible from the balcony. Anita was very accommodating, provided quick responses and shared helpful tips about exploring Manual Antonio and offered to book any trips for me. I enjoyed chatting with her about a variety of topics at would highly recommend this apartment for anyone considering Manuel Antonio.
Merci Anita.

About the Host, Anita
I discover Manuel Antonio 38 years ago after graduating the University of California in Berkeley. Don Melton and myself first did a research project in the National Park and adjoining beaches and decided to make Punta Quepos our home. Don was the local historian and gave educational talks for many groups including National Geografic. We were among the founders of the first Chamber of Tourism in Manue Antonio, founders of ASCONA (Quepos first conservation organization), and have continued to be active in civic and conservations groups to date. I am currently working with a group to establish an animal shelter here in our (website hidden) We worked for many years on the problem of drownings (see page 7). I ran my gift shop LA BUENA NOTA for many years and because of my extensive knowledge of Costa Rica, I can answer most questions about our area and some advice about other tourist destinations in Costa Rica.
