Stephen is a Londoner and is fully prepared to share his intimate knowledge of the great city. The apartment is adjacent to The Narrow an excellent Gordon Ramsey restaurant and is within walking distance of many more fine pubs and restaurants. The local is The Grapes which is owned by Sir Ian McKellen who lives next door and uses it frequently. Stephen will be only too willing to guide his guests along the Thames to many hidden gems that many tourists or visitors would miss. As an keen theatre, music and gallery goer there are cultural aspects of London that can be shared with guests.
Limehouse is an oasis of Thames side tranquility convenient for all the tourist attraction of London. The bustling Canary Wharf is 5 minutes by train whilst The Tower of London lies 5 minutes in to the west. The Thames Clipper river bus will glide you to The Houses of Parliament in 20 minutes and the Tate Modern in 15 minutes or Festival Hall on the South Bank 5 minutes further west. There is a fascinating Thames path which Stephen uses often and the adjacent Limehouse basin has two Victorian canals which lead to Regents Park or eastwards to the Olympic Park. There are good train links to City airport offering flights to many European destinations and Heathrow and Gatwick are only an hour away. The location offers a great destination for any traveller wanting to see many new facets of London.
Limehouse Doclands Light Railway station is two minutes walk away. From there The Bank of England is 6 minutes ride away as is Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. The river bus station is seven minutes walk. Many of London's attractions can be reached by taking the regular service along the river.
Cleanliness, politeness and happiness are all that is asked.
Fantastic apartment with a fantastic host. Stephen was kind and knowledgeable a true English gent
Stephen's place on the Thames is great for anyone wanting to stay in London. Stephen is friendly and welcoming and the guest room has a very comfortable bed and clean and spacious bathroom. Whilst we didn't spend much time in the actual apartment it's location and view would be hard to beat in London. Proximity to the DLR and Underground make it ideal for those heading into the city but if you head out for a walk locally you'll find some great parks and out-of-the-way pubs. Would definitely stay here again.
The stunning apartment was exactly as described with great views. Fantastic and witty host, very accommodating and open minded. During our short stay, Stephen proved to be a fantastic staple of knowledge on all things to with the local area and life in general!
We had a terrific time staying here. Stephen is a gracious host and we enjoyed our conversations early in the morning over a good cup of coffee. The apartment is lovely in all respects - spacious, comfortable and flooded with natural daylight. One couldn't ask for better views of the city and the Thames than from his own balcony. The apartment's location is great for people who like to explore the city by foot as it is close to the Thames Path and canal systems. It is also within a very short distance from the DLR which connects you quickly to the main tube lines. The bedroom itself was very large, with great cupboard space, a very comfortable bed and a good shower. We couldn't ask for anything better! We hope to stay here again on our next visit to London.
we received a warm welcome, from stephen upon our arrival and felt at home straightaway. the room is fabulous, with the bathroom attached and the glass doors to the terrace.
he explained the various do's and don'ts in the apartment, our room and the kitchen,..
the view on the thames, canary wharf is fabulous, amplified by the great weather, we had.
in the mornings, at breakfast we chatted on the plans for the day on which stephen chipped in with his hints and tips, on where to go, what not to forget and adding his recommendations of galleries and musea that were already on our list.
stephen is a great host and we enjoyed every minute of our stay with him in london. we will be back,..no doubt!!
This place is very convenient to Canary Wharf and the Limehouse basin. Stephen has a lovely home and he is friendly and helpful. Recommended!
Stephen is a lovely, kind and communicative host and we enjoyed staying with him. The flat is incredibly spacious, modern, with cool features like a skylight in the bathroom and beautiful views of London and the river. We would thoroughly recommend the flat, location and Stephen!
I am a London based middle aged real estate professional who enjoys art, theatre, food and travel. So far Namibia and Iceland are the most amazing locations visited. I'm a friend of the Royal Academy, Tate Gallery and Bankside gallery and take great comfort and energy from a wide range of art. As a member of the South Bank's Festival Hall and The Barbican I enjoy listening to the contemporary and classical music there and other new venues such as Kings Place. Being a "baby boomer" Led Zepplin, the Stones, Fleetwood Mac and Joe Cocker are favourites but Amy Winehouse and Bellowheads are also on the playlist. As a Londoner I'm constantly surprised at the new vibrancy it offers and old charm of historic locations. I love exploring the city and am prepared to share this knowledge with visitors.
