The Space

We live in an attractive detached house a few minutes walk from the beautiful village of Bourton on the Water. The village is known as 'The Venice of the Cotswolds' thanks to the many little bridges over the River Windrush which runs through the centre. We offer a total of three bedrooms, accommodating 4-5 guests. Please contact us even if the calendar appears booked.

Guests have use of bathroom (shared with other guests if necessary) Towels are provided. Everyone is welcome to use the kitchen to prepare a continental breakfast. Juice, fruit, teas, coffee, cereal, toast all provided.
We are ideally situated and just a short walk from all the attractions the village has to offer... Birdland to see the penguins being fed, the Model Village, the Motor Museum with over 50 vintage cars, the Dragonfly Maze, the Perfumery, the Model Railway or just feed the ducks on the river!
There are many tea shops, restaurants, 2 fish and chip shops and a few pubs in the village. Please be aware that most of the shops and little tea shops close at 4.30 – 5 pm. Meals are available in the evening in most of the pubs and one or two restaurants in the village.
From the house you can walk to two of the prettiest villages in the Cotswolds, Lower and Upper Slaughter. Harvey our very friendly and energetic Jack Russell would be delighted to show you some of the many scenic countryside walks that surround Bourton on the Water! If you are a walker, don’t forget to bring your walking boots or wellies!
With a car you can visit a myriad of beautiful villages. We will provide maps of villages to visit in just a morning or afternoon or even a day trip with recommendations for a pub lunch or a delicious afternoon tea in one of the many historic hotels in the area.
We are in an area of outstanding natural beauty with easy access to places such as

Stratford upon Avon to see Shakespeare’s birthplace

  • Denise was very welcoming even though she was juggling quite a few people the two nights we were there. We appreciated the conversation and the suggestions for our tour through her area. And we can't forget the dog Harvey. If you rub his belly he will go sound asleep. The accommodations were comfortable and we were able to wash and dry some clothes. Breakfast was good and timed to help us get out and see the sites. We enjoyed our stay!

  • We had a great time, thanks to Denise and Dave, not to mention Harvey the Hound. They were very helpful and generous hosts. Denise shared her Oxford walk with us, and Dave suggested other Cotswold gems to explore. Their own home is centrally sited for guests to easily access and enjoy both Oxford and Stratford, as well as multiple picturesque Cotswold villages.

  • Absolutely the best B&B ever. Thanks soooooo much Denise and David. Home immaculate and beautifully decorated. Light and bright. The information given for touring was so helpful in helping us decide where to go on our visit. The conversation was also friendly and made us feel at home. We did love our visit with Harvey as well.

    Response from Denise:

    Hi Ann
Sorry to hear things didn't go so well later, hope they've picked up now and you are enjoying yourselves. I was in Ireland for my niece's wedding all last week, saw all the family, great time. Dave and Harvey send their best!

  • This place was our favourite. The town was lovely (only 10 minute walk), the house was clean and comfortable and the neighbourhood quiet. Denise and David were welcoming, helpful and interesting. We really enjoyed our breakfast chats as well as the lovely breakfast. And then there is Harvey, the lovely greeter.

  • Really nice room, and warm. Denise made us welcome and showed us where the breakfast food was so we could get up when we wanted. Great neighbourhood to explore and friendly dog to do it with. Good stay. Sorry we missed you on the last morning as we had to leave early. Many thanks.

  • We loved Burton-On-Water and our stay with Denise and David. They were wonderful hosts. The house was very convenient to town and a lovely place. Denise was kind enough to pick us up and take us to the train station at the end of our stay since we didn't have a car. Thanks so much!

  • Denise and her husband were delightful hosts who went out of their way to help us get the most out of our time in Bourton on the Water. Their home was perfectly situated and they showed us where we could take lovely nature walks right from their neighborhood. We had many interesting chats and overall had a wonderful time.
