We live in an attractive detached house a few minutes walk from the beautiful village of Bourton on the Water. The village is known as 'The Venice of the Cotswolds' thanks to the many little bridges over the River Windrush which runs through the centre. We offer a total of three bedrooms, accommodating 4-5 guests. Please contact us even if the calendar appears booked.
Guests have use of bathroom (shared with other guests if necessary) Towels are provided. Everyone is welcome to use the kitchen to prepare breakfast. Juice, tea, coffee cereal, toast all provided.
We are ideally situated and just a short walk from all the attractions the village has to offer... Birdland to see the penguins being fed, the Model Village, the Motor Museum with over 50 vintage cars, the Dragonfly Maze, the Perfumery, the Model Railway or just feed the ducks on the river!
There are many tea shops, restaurants, a fish and chip shop and a few pubs in the village.
From the house you can walk to two of the prettiest villages in the Cotswolds Lower and Upper Slaughter. Harvey our very friendly and energetic Jack Russell would be delighted to show you some of the many scenic countryside walks that surround Bourton on the Water! If you are a walker, don’t forget to bring your walking boots or wellies.
We are in an area of outstanding natural beauty with easy access to places such as

We love to show guests around our area!
We stayed at The Venice of the Cotswolds for one, lovely weekend. Everything was just as specified on her profile and it was perfect! Denise was excellent with communication before we arrived and during our stay. We highly recommend staying at The Venice of the Cotswolds.
Denise was a very good host. Her accommodation is comfortable and close to the center of Bourton-on-the-Water and she is very helpful in terms of what to see. She and Dave were both welcoming and kind and I'm very thankful for the generous hospitality!
Lovely hosts! The house was very nice and tidy. The place is a nice 10 minute walk to the village centre. It was a very pleasant experience specially due to the hosts, so I want to pubblically say thank you and wish you a lovely new year!!
Denise and Dave are very kind and considering. Their house is pretty lovely and warm. We enjoy our stay in Bourton-on-the-water. Denise recommend us another sweet village named Lower Slaughter, which is very quiet and memorable. Of course we wish to travel again hopefully this summer and again stay with Denise and Dave :)
Denise and her husband are very friendly. They don´t allow the guests to use the kitchen to cook their own meals but the breakfast is nice. Thanks!
We do allow guests to prepare light meals on longer stays and especially if they have children as it can be a nuisance having to go out every evening. We appreciate being asked in advance of their arrival as we can then plan our own evenings around our guests. The meal you prepared in our kitchen can't have been very memorable as you seem to have forgotten it already!
We had a wonderful stay with Denise and David, their home is beautiful and they are very accommodating, friendly people. The place to stay in Bourton-on-the-water, and a great base to see the rest of the Cotswolds.
Dave is a very friendly host (unfortunately Denise was away and we could not meet her). We felt very comfortable and welcome in their charming house. We only stayed at D & D’ house for a night and used three of their bedrooms – all very comfortable. Bourton on the Water is just gorgeous. Wish we could stay longer.
The welcome from David was very friendly. David also showed us the centre of the town, the pubs and the supermarket and borrowed us a walking map. The house was very comfortable and clean. We had a lovely time and really enjoyed our stay. When we return to the Cotswold we surely will check if a room with Denise and Davids is available.
Denise and Dave were extremely welcoming. We felt as if we were staying with friends. Our washing was no trouble, even with Denise preparing to leave on holiday as we left. Harvey also made our first Airbnb experience a great one. We thoroughly recommend the walk to the Slaughters. Thankyou so much!
