Our house is your house so get comfortable and enjoy yourself. We go out of our way to make sure you have an amazing time in Cusco and make great memories. Get ready to have two new friends by the time you leave here.
Just a quick note....Machu Picchu tickets sell out and so do train hours get them before you come or ask us.
As for our house, we live in an old colonial style house in the center of Cuzco. Many airbnb listings in Cusco are hotels and we are proud that we offer you a real house, the way airbnb was meant to be. You can walk out the door and be in the main square in ten minutes. It's also ideally located near all the transport hubs. There is a small garden area, a large, comfortable living room, a sun room where we homeschool, two sunny sitting halls, a large kitchen, a large area where we wash and dry clothes, 5 bedrooms for guests and plenty of beds. We have 3 guest showers and toilets all up and running, 2 of which we built ourselves. Plus we have a basketball hoop, which Bill thinks is the best part of our house.
If you find this space full, we have listings for our other rooms on airbnb, just look here
These two below are a shared room for women
Airbnb asks that we have separate listings for each room, which is why you will find many listings for Bill and Nic’s House.
Our house is your house, except for our bedroom. We homeschool at our house in the day so we ask for no blasting of heavy metal music or break dancing between 9 and 1 (A.M.)
We give breakfast, which we have been told is an amazing and great breakfast. You can decide when you get here. Many people have listed some of the things from our breakfast in their reviews, however we often vary our breakfast. A few sure things are: fresh coffee and a selection of teas, bread, real butter, locally homemade jam or two....or three, and almost always fresh raw honey. We offer a fruit or two as well. Most days you will find eggs or instead maybe avocado or cheese. Sometimes when I’m feeling energetic homemade yogurt with fruit. Everything depends on what we have, how we are feeling how you are feeling and how close to market day we are. We are a family not a hotel so things are run that way. If you arrive early, and many people do, we will offer you breakfast that first morning after your long journey. Isn’t it nice to stay in an airbnb instead of a hotel full of silly rules?
By the way, if you have an early departure like 3am-7am, lets us know the night before, and we will leave something out for you to eat or to make and take. If you tell me way in advance I promise I will forget. I may be able to multitask like a queen (I being Nic) but I cannot remember it all, all the time.
If you see our calendar is full, write to us anyway since we often have space in another one of our rooms.
Guest rooms: We have a very large bedroom with room for four to five beds.
We also have two spacious bedrooms with three beds in it.
We have two normal size rooms that fits two beds.
In total right now the house can accommodate 15 guests. The house is spacious with plenty of common areas so that you can always find somewhere to hang out with out feeling like it is a tight fit. Besides, for the most part everyone is out on their adventures for the day, sometimes going out with other guests and other times coming back to share their stories and adventures with our guests.
We have wi-fi in the house and if you need to use our computer for a few minutes just ask.
Interaction with Guests
We are here if you want some info, but if you want to be independent, you still get breakfast.
Most people are looking for the best experience in Cusco during their time here, we can help you accomplish that, we know the city, the best restaurants, the best day trips, the coolest bars, and how to arrange almost any trip on any budget. If you would like to do paragliding, 4 wheeling, the longest zip line in the world or one of the many awesome treks here in Cusco, hiking Salkantay, Ausangate, Choquequiroa, Inka trail, and Inca jungle, we can set it up. We have done it or know someone who has. (If you have not planned to have a few days or more in Cusco you will wish you did, so plan accordingly. There is lots to do in and around the Cusco area.)
Saturday is market day. We buy all our fresh food from the local non tourist market. If you want to come along feel free. Nic goes to the flea market early around 6am and then Bill goes to the farmers market around 8 or 9. There are loads of pics on the F B page. If we recommend anything, it is the Saturday farmers market. It only runs on Saturday and you will most likely be the only foreigner there. We still get emails saying how that market or our tour A Day in the Life was the best part of the trip.
We also ride some killer secret single track that we are more than happy to take experienced bikers on. We can also take you on our personal tour called A Day in the Life.... showing you Peru outside of the tourist spectrum. Our F B page has all kinds of pics of that tour and people who have done it. It is an all day experience and only runs on Sundays.
If you need a ride from the airport or bus station let us know, we can organize that for you, it costs 20-25 dollars, someone will drive there, wait, wait some more, hold a sign and even hold your hand if your scared, and then will get you to our house safe and sound without you having to haggle with the taxi drivers who love fresh tourists. However, if you find managing things like taxis in foreign counties no big deal take one here for 10-15 soles.
Our neighborhood is in a safe part of town very central and close to the Plaza de Armas. You can walk from our house to all the sites in the city. Our house is well lit up and numbered so you won't get lost trying to find it. It's always advisable to take a taxi if you are out late at night. They can drop you off at our door. It's a 4 minute taxi ride from the Plaza de Armas at night. At rush hour however, you can walk faster than a taxi.
You can walk, take a cheap taxi for about $1.50 or take a public bus, which is an adventure in itself, zip your pockets. We know how to get just about anywhere here, so we can make sure you are getting on and taking the correct buses.
Other Things to Note
If you arrive before the 11:00 check in time and want to leave your bags here so that you can walk around the city feel free, OR if you are tired from the long journey you can crash on the couch while you wait for your room. Also, if you need a place to leave things while you go on some big trek or to Macchu Picchu for the night you can do that too.
As you can see from the pictures, we are a family. We have kids and we are very active. We are often hiking or biking or on some kind of adventure. When we are not out on an adventure we may be having a Bar-B-Q in the Sacred Valley that you can come to or just hanging out having a world famous Cuzquena beer or Pisco in the yard. Our kids are normal healthy kids, you may find them making a volcano in the yard, chasing our two chickens out of the house, jumping on your bed....no no no, I mean jumping on the couch, laughing, squealing from being tossed in the air or yes beating each other up and them crying about it. That’s the fun of a family. We love it and invite you in to be a part of our family for your stay and that’s exactly how you will be treated, like family or friends we have known for years.

Bill and Nic were great hosts and made sure I had everything I needed. The location of their house was very convenient, and their kids were super lovely. Wonderful family and a great place to stay in Cusco.
Nicole and Bill are very welcoming hosts, they made the people and the place like a big family. The room was clean and cozy. Location of the place is very good, walkable distance from major tourist spots. I will definitely want to stay here again if I am coming back to cusco.
Brilliant stay at Bill and Nic's house, they even helped me plan a trip off the beaten path. Would definitely reccomend them to anyone passing through Cusco.
Bill and Nic are an amazing couple! They are friendly, helpful, and overall great hosts. I reserved two rooms for a big group of eight for before and after Machu Picchu. We had plenty of space, the beds were comfy, and there was always yummy breakfast for us. They also have great local recommendations and really know the city inside and out. After we all finished Machu Picchu and returned to Bill and Nic's, it felt as if we were coming home!!! I highly recommend staying with them!

About the Host, Bill And Nic
We moved to Peru with the desire to help in a third world country. We were complete volunteers for the last seven years. We both worked in schools for the poor. We arrived with minimal Spanish and a one year old. I would have to say we have come a long way since then. Not only are we fluent in Spanish but Bill has picked up Quechua from the locals he worked with in Andahuaylillas. Although we spent most of our time helping the poor we also took out time to search out some of the best single track, sweet day hikes, good camping spots and do the big treks around here. We love adventure and family which is why we do lots of family adventures.
We are both from Buffalo, NY but moved to Durango Colorado after we got married. We now live in the city center of Cusco Peru, ten minutes walking to the Plaza de Armas. We have decided to offer travelers a nice, safe, and relaxed stay in our house during their time here. After hearing about Airbnb from a friend, we thought it would be great to offer some of our extra rooms to the traveler who tires of cheap hotels and rowdy hostels. You should feel free to have a nice, safe, and relaxed stay in our house during your time here. We know the area, have done the trips, and know the best ways to enjoy Cusco, and its wonders. Plus we can help you do some off the beaten path stuff if you'd like. You'll be happy you stayed with us. Families are welcome!
