JoAnne is a great host, incredibly prompt in responding to all my communication, and provides very clear detailed arrival info. She worked overtime to ensure the Wi-Fi and cable were working. Great place, centrally located, dog friendly, great experience for the whole family. I highly recommend the Baldwins cabin and would book again. Thanks for everything.
Joanne sent us a (very accurate) welcome letter, with all the info we needed for the cabin. The cabin was cozy, comfortable, and made for a great mother's day weekend with my family and friends. The place was exactly as expected! There's a queen bed + twin bunks in each room - this would be the perfect getaway for a few (4 person or smaller) families. It has a very cabin-y feel, with exposed beams, etc, and I really can't say enough good things. We had 3 little ones (about 2 years old) there, and our only real concern was the stairs, with openings in the railing wide enough for them to slip through. We used a baby gate to remedy this situation for us.
We really loved staying in this cabin! It was spacious and comfortable. The hot tub was an extra bonus (just don't plan to be in it after 10 PM). I would totally come back here again!
Hi Elizabeth, the signs about 10pm are for the summer months when past guests have been loud in the hot tub, and our neighbors sleep with their windows open-Tahoe AC equivalent :-). If you are mindful of your noise level then all is OK. The signs are there to deter party behaviour and being respectful of our neighbors. Trees are the only insulation and are not very good at it. Wish you would have checked in with me on this. cheers jo
Visited Joanne's Tahoe cabin for a weekend ski trip with some colleagues, and we were very pleased with it. Joanne was incredibly prompt both in responding to my initial reservation and writing back to my messages as the trip came closer. The place is spacious and comfortable, kitchen is well-equipped, and the hot tub is one of the nicest I've ever been in. Woodstove and BBQ both work well also. The neighbourhood was perhaps a bit more densely populated than we expected, but it wasn't an issue. We hope to return sometime, perhaps for a summer trip. Highly recommended!
Our weekend at the Baldwin cabin was absolutely wonderful! The cabin was very clean, came fully appointed, and was the perfect place for a couples weekend getaway. Relaxing in the hot tub was a fantastic way to wrap up a day of hiking in the Tahoe National Forest. Thanks to Joanne for being such a great host!
We felt very welcome in Jo's home. There were instructions and labels for everything. The attention to detail was amazing! The house is quaint, quirky, and super clean. The house is super close to the neighbors, so the noise really is an issue out there. Definitely not a place to rent if you want to hang out in the hot tub past 10pm. All of the signs about evictions and fines for noise complaints kept us a little on edge. Otherwise, Jo was extremely helpful and we appreciate her sharing her beautiful home with us!
Wish you had called about the signs regarding the hot tub. This is stop outdoor party hearty behaviour especially during the summer months when neighbors sleep with their windows open. We have had some extreme party people who totally disregarded our home and neighbors (20feet away on one side and 10feet away on the other). We just want our guests to be mindful of others.

About the Host, Joanne
We love living in this neighborhood, we have lived here for 18 years. Our down time is spent, traveling, skiing, sailing, mountain bike/cycling, going to movies, seeing live music and eating out.
I love hosting and it's your home too for the duration of your stay and your privacy is respected. I will leave you alone to get to know the city or I'm here to offer ideas if you ask. I am always available unless I am doing one of the above activities :-)
