House rules
This place isn’t suitable for children under 12 and the host doesn’t allow pets.
Cabins are rustic, without heating, cooling or insulation. Toilets, showers & kitchen are centrally located and shared. Camp Kush is located in the Great Sage Plain in the shadow of Mesa Verde National Park with panoramic mountain/mesa views of the Four Corners region, all only 5 miles Southeast of Cortez.
We have private couple’s or family cabins, shared hostel-style cabins with bunk beds, tent and vehicle sites, a community kitchen, pit toilets and hot showers.

The space
Camp Kush is a reclaimed children’s church camp (Camp Christa). Each summer churches from all over the southwest would bring kids for week-long camps. It used to house up to 100 kids at a time! We bought it in April 2018 and reopened it as cannabis friendly campground, hostel & event center for grown-ups to enjoy.
We are cannabis friendly & inclusive! Cool folks of any ethnic background, national origin or religion as well as hippies, hunters, freaks and queers are all welcome here!

Guest access
In response to Covid-19 Camp Kush will be OPEN, taking the following precautions:

Camp, as always, is tidied daily.

Common areas and high-touch surfaces are disinfected often.

Bringing your own bedding, pillows and towels is HIGHLY encouraged. (If you're not able, we have you covered.)

Please maintain proper social distancing by not crowding common areas. Spread out, there's plenty of space.

Practice good hygiene by enjoying our HOT showers and sinks with running water and provided soap.

Masking is a choice afforded to each camper and will be respected.

Enjoy your stay at Camp!

Other things to note
Camp Kush is in an arid desert climate and conservation is key. Water is stored in cisterns for use in camp. Because of this we ask that you bring your own drinking water & limit water use.

Cortez, Colorado, United States

We're happy to give you the local's only hook-up to find hikes, ruins, swimming holes, lakes/rivers, hot springs, tacos, coffee, cannabis, a spot to rent kayaks, bikes- you name it! Just ask.
There are so many things to do/see nearby: Ride Phil's World, visit Mesa Verde National Park, Canyons of the Ancients, or Hovenweep National Monument. Raft down the Dolores river, maybe rent an SUP or kayak and chill on a quiet reservoir. There are several museums and cultural centers in the area as well that truly help set the context for your visit to the area.
