Lots of beautiful space for your retreat or Nashville vacation! Just off I-40E east of the airport, my rates are LOW so you can save $$. I have 4 bedrooms, 3 full baths available in the Morningstar House to individuals, families or groups of up to 10 people. All 4 rooms are quiet, private, and very comfortable. GOOD NEWS! A bus route to downtown has opened up to downtown just one mile from my house, and with the train- the Music City Star (the only train in the county) you can choose to be car-free!
Plan ahead for seasonal events, family reunions, weddings or special events. I also love to host LONG TERM GUESTS for a special weekly or monthly rate. Just a note-- with 4 listings, I almost always have openings that don't show on the calendar. Just inquire and we can find a spot for you!
We respond within minutes to your inquiries here. PLEASE wait for and respond quickly to our replies, and choose the option that allows the host to call you, so we can have good, clear, efficient communication from the beginning. : )
In the last 18 months we've hosted people from 60 countries making for some fascinating stories being shared around the kitchen table! A stay at the Morningstar House is a great way to make new friends and get settled and connected if you are planning a move to Nashville. Since my practice here is more like sharing my home, and less like a motel rental, I especially appreciate people who bring an open, cooperative, friendly spirit to the process.
Here are the listings- Capital letters help you search for the one you want to book.

#2-- A second QUEEN suite (18'X18') has a private bath with shower, and a queen size bed, vaulted ceiling. There is a nice wicker bedroom set in this room, plus a trundle bed, sleeps 3 comfortably ($44-59 pr night)

--I have a very comfortable sofabed with a featherbed on it in the PlayRoom available also for $29 pr night
--My daughter's house next door is available Oct. 1
In a quiet wooded area near Percy Priest lake, we are still just 5 miles east of the Nashville Airport, (pickup available $10) , 15 minutes from downtown, and the Opryland Hotel area. I have an art room, activities for children, (my grandchildren live nearby) a Playroom where we've held house concerts, and many workshops, wireless internet, a wide selection of music. My space is ideal for artists, writers, or musicians, business people, travelers, people new to the city, or anyone wanting a getaway or just a fast, easy, comfortable place to sleep while on the road!
While my house is clean, it is not spotless-- the forks aren't a matching set, the refrigerator and cabinets are sometimes full of food (always for share!), the bars of soap are not individually wrapped like in a motel, the sheets and towels are clean- hung out in the fresh air to dry, but don't always form a matching set. : ) My grandchildren have made sure the carpet has a few light stains that won't come out, and i've collected books and things globally that adorn each room. Yes, i could part with some more of the "stuff" but for now, it's here for us to enjoy along with the relaxed friendly vibe in the house.
I no longer offer much in the way of cooking breakfast, but can have supplies on hand for you to prepare things yourself.
I offer creative process coaching in expressive and healing arts. As a community artist for over 25 years I have an extensive network of creative friends doing interesting projects in and around Nashville. I can offer expressive arts/creativity sessions for $20 a session upon request. : )
I've done lots of traveling around the world, and learned the beauty and value of hospitality... I enjoy people and seek to provide guests in my home with support, nourishment for body and soul, information about the city, as well as honor needs for quiet and privacy. Please read my reviews and references, they will help you connect with the "spirit" of the Morningstar House before you get here. : )
We really enjoyed our stay with Diana! The atmosphere was warm and inviting. If you are looking for a place not too far from the city, yet near the lake with a relaxing feel, this is for you. A lot of synchronicity abounds. Thanks!
This is one of those unique and special places for which words are insufficient. Being from Berkeley, CA and traveling with my 4 year old daughter, i wanted to find something fun, peaceful and open for our visit to Nashville. The Morningstar House exceeds in every category, and it is super convenient.
It's a very cool house in a great location, and the setting is both creatively stimulating and comfortable, an obvious extension of Diane's gracious and generous spririt
We'll be recommending it to our friends and family and we look forward to staying there again.
Sorry we were not able to meet Diana in person, but she was very responsive and available via phone and helped us out on short notice (after a prior reservation was cancelled in a town an hour away). House was comfortable and quiet. Very convenient to I-40 east of Nashville.
I was going to stay in Diana's welcoming home the night prior to catching an early flight. I had to cancel the trip at the last minute and Diana was so understanding and generously gave me a rain check. I look forward to meeting her in the near future.
I regret that I didn't have the opportunity to meet Diana while I was staying in her home, but her surroundings would Indicate her to be the warm, engaging person that our phone conversations made her seem. I appreciate her hospitality.
Diana was a wonderful hostess and we had an excellent trip. We would gladly stay there again.
One of our favorite houses we've stayed in. Tons of room, real homey feel, good vibes. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks Diana!
Our stay was very short. Diana was very easy to work with.
If you are looking for a relaxing, friendly, and accomodating environment, MorningStar House is perfect. Diana is an amazing person, and makes you feel at home. You can move about freely throughout the house, and make yourself right at home. I love my bedroom, and the bed is a super comfortable sleep. I find myself wanting to stay longer than I'm scheduled to stay!
I was in an unexpected, tough situation and needing a place to stay at the last minute. I sent Diana a message at 5:00pm in hopes she would get back to me to let me know if there was space. She responded within 10 minutes with a place and even offered me a deal. I booked the room and then showed up within an hour, dropped off my things and left for the evening.
She was flexible and accommodating. The environment of the house is definitely restful and feels like a nice retreat from the potentially overstimulating downtown of Nashville - yet is still close enough to experience all of the wonders and music of the city.
The next morning I packed up and had a nice conversation with Diana and left feeling extremely satisfied with my experience. Would definitely recommend to any other travelers passing through the area or looking for a good place to stay near Nashville.
