Delightful double en suite in our elegant Victorian terraced house overlooking Endcliffe Park. Close to bus stops for both city centre and Peak District. Fantastic location close to vibrant Ecclesall Road area with woodland walks on the doorstep.
This is a lovely bright and very spacious room on the 2nd floor of our home overlooking Endcliffe Park. A shower, separate toilet and large vanity unit with wash basin are incorporated into this room. Basic toiletries are provided including shampoo, conditioner and shower cream. Tea/coffee making facilities are available in the room.
The location is superb for visitors with parks, shops, takeaways, restaurants, coffee houses, wine bars and buses all close by. We are well placed for getting to both universities and hospitals. The Hunters Bar area close by has a delightfully bohemian and arty atmosphere with many individual and different shops to enjoy. A half hour's walk will either take you into the city centre and theatres, or out into the heather clad moors of the Peak District through wooded parkland and the Porter Valley. Buses into the city or out into Derbyshire leave from the end of the road - about 100 yards away.
There is masses to do in Sheffield. It is ideally placed for exploring the Derbyshire Peak District and there is ample scope for walkers, climbers and cyclists. The city centre is lively with theatres, street markets, excellent restaurants, music festivals and museums catering for all types of visitors. The Millenium Gallery and Winter Gardens are worth a visit. A number of stately homes are close by including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall. Bakewell, Buxton, Edale, Castleton and Chesterfield are all worth a visit. If shopping is your thing, Meadowhall is a 15 minute drive or you can take the tram.
We have lived here for many years and have entertained visitors from the theatres, university and hospitals, all of whom have appreciated the wealth of activities and the warm Yorkshire welcome they have received.
Guests can make use of the kitchen and the small private and south facing garden. A help yourself breakfast of cereals and toast with tea or coffee is provided. There is on street parking and a garage in which to store bikes if necessary. We will respect your privacy and ask you to respect ours, but we will always offer help, advice and lifts to our guests as required. We are not originally from Yorkshire but we just love Sheffield - and we want you to enjoy it as we do!
Very welcoming experience, Thanks Ali and Andy for making our 1st Airbnb experience such a nice one. Your enthusiasm for what Sheffield has to offer is infectious and we will return again, even when our daughter has finished Uni!
After spending a few unsettled weeks in various B&Bs and holiday cottages, it was great to return to Ali and Andy’s lovely room; with its relaxing home-from-home feel and comfortable bed. I’ll be moving into a rented property soon, so Ali’s local knowledge has been invaluable - offering tips and advice on where to visit, eat and drink etc. I can highly recommend staying here - you won’t be disappointed.
My first Airbnb was delightful. Ali and Andy where perfect hosts. The room was as described, very specious with TV and desk. I had no trouble parking outside and at the time of visit (March 2015) street parking was free. I will be using both Airbnb and Ali and Andy room again when visiting Sheffield.
Any trepidation I had, about my first Airbnb experience, was unfounded, as Ali and Andy were the perfect hosts. Their warm and friendly nature made me feel welcome, and I immediately felt at home. The room has everything you need for a relaxing stay – which is just what you want after a busy day at work. I stayed for two nights, and slept like a log in the very comfortable bed. There’s no doubt I’ll return at some time in the future.
We had a really pleasant experience during our short stay in Ali's beautiful home. The room was just faboulous, with a beautiful view on the nearby park, nicely decorated and clean, supplied with coffee and tea. Ali was extremely kind and helpful, she gave us advice and useful tips. Looking forward to come back ;-)
Ali welcomed me into her home for a few days before I was able to move into my flat at uni. She was very helpful with directions around Sheffield. Although I was not around very often, Ali made my first few days in Sheffield memorable and easier than I thought it would be. She was an excellent host and very understanding with my early check in and late check out times. I would recommend for anyone to stay at this listing!
Being new to sheffield, we booked a week with Ali and Andy whilst we searched for a house to rent in the city. Their house is in a perfect location, very close to Ecclesall road with many shops and restaurants nearby. We stayed in their attic room which is ideal. Complete with ensuite and tea/coffee making facilities, it was the perfect base for us. Ali and Andy kindly let us use their kitchen for evening meals during our stay which really helped too. They know the area well and gave great recommendations for places to visit and also helped with our hunt for a house to rent. We would definitely recommend their place to stay! Couldn't have asked for more. Thank you Ali and Andy!
Hi - We are Andy and Ali, a friendly, sociable couple who enjoy all that Sheffield has to offer including its varied culture, lovely warm people and access to the big outdoors. Andy worked in computers and was a member of Mountain Rescue for many years. I was an English teacher for some time, and subsequently an HR Manager of a large IT company. We are now enjoying early retirement! We like music of all kinds, I sing in a small choir, we enjoy good food and drink, love to travel and we adore the NW coast of Scotland. We have welcomed guests from Sheffield theatres and universities and are used to sharing our house with others. Do come and see us!
