An extremely positive experience.
It is always clear when you are staying with a host and apartment that have tried Airbnb before and that was the case here. Everything was smooth, friendly, and responsive. Nathalie was flexible and also had very good materials about the neighborhood etc.
The apartment is not far from the traffic filled Place de la Porte Maillot, but the more immediate neighborhood was a nice surprise- Charming and it has cafes and shops galore. The metro is also right around the corner so the rest of Paris is very close as well.
The apartment itself is spacious, light, and the pictures capture it well. Like many Paris flats, it wasn't renovated yesterday, but it is comfortable and well appointed.
It is a keeper-- I would stay here again for sure.
Nathalie made us feel welcome. She took the time to show us around the apartment and she had a "book" that provided helpful information like the metro and showed directions to the local grocery stores.
The apartment was accurately described and very close to the metro and to the Champs-Elysee.
Nathalie was very accomodating and prompt to answer my messages. Her place is the truly Parisian experience, very comfortable and very very clean. Nice neighborhood, 2 minute walk from the metro station. You can see the top of the Eiffel tower from the corner of her block. Thank you Nathalie, I certainly recomend her place.
Parfait, hote très sympa, appart idealement placé et correspondant exactement à la description de l'annonce. A recommander
Nathalie was the perfect host and made myself and my family feel very welcome. The information provided about the apartment and the surrounding area was excellent. The location of the apartment is great as it is very easy to get to the all the tourist attractions but there is also to do in the apartment's neighbourhood.
My two adult sons and I stayed in Nathalie's lovely flat for a week while I was attending a conference at the Palais de Congres. Nathalie is an excellent host: helpful, informative, responsive and attentive. Before our stay, she attended to all of our needs, and provided us with excellent information. Nathalie replied to all queries promptly. The flat itself is not technically in Paris, but is just over the border (by a matter of metres) in the upmarket suburb of Neuille. If you have a conference at the Palais de Congres, its location could not be better; it is less than five minutes walk to the conference centre. The area is very Parisian, and staying there, you don't feel like a tourist. Within easy vicinity there are excellent shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. There are two Jewish food stores close by, and we were very taken by the bistro on the corner, La Coupola (I think), which was as authentic as you could imagine. There is a Metro station about 100m away, and being on Line 1 means that you have easy access to many of the main sites. The apartment itself is in an old block of apartments, which struck me as very typical. The apartment itself is old, but well maintained. It has two dedicated bedrooms with double beds in each, and a single bed in what is really a second living room, or parlour. There is a shower over a small bath. The bathroom also has a washing machine. There is no dryer; clothes are dried using a strange pulley hanger that descends from the bathroom ceiling. It actually works very well, but it looked strange to my eyes. You need to give yourself time to make sure clothes dry properly. The kitchen is fully appointed, and Nathalie provides all necessities. There is free wifi, and it is reliable and fast. On the negative side, the toilet is oddly placed next to the kitchen and is tiny! Probably the smallest toilet I have ever used. My sons and I are all over six feet, and found it cramped, but certainly not unusable. Second, the wooden floor is very, very noisy. It's impossible to walk around the apartment in silence. Third, the apartment block as a whole is not well sound proofed, and it is possible to hear a lot of activity from the neighbours. I hasten to add that the neighbours were not in any way noisy. Perhaps this is typical of Parisian apartments, but as someone coming from a different living environment, I found it noticeable. In summary, if you want an authentic Parisian experience in a very nice area, particularly if you have an activity at the Palais de Congres, I would happily recommend Nathalie's apartment. Nathalie's excellent qualities as a host are a bonus.
