Shirley was very welcoming and helpful. She had interesting suggestions for things to do in the neighborhood, like a flee market on Lafayette Avenue. Before we were in New York, she also send useful information about how to get from JFK to her place.
The apartment was just like the pictures and descriptions, very clean and with a nice energy. We liked it a lot to come home to, after a busy day of sightseeing on Manhattan.
We recommend Shirley's apartment very much; our 21 year old son did also like the place a lot. And Brooklyn too!
We enjoyed our stay at Shirley's appartment. Very clean, lots of space and a warm welcome. Very nice Deli shop and supermarket nearby, connection to Manhatten via subway conveniant.
It was a very warm welcome when we arrived. We got the chance to leave our luggage in the apartment even so, we arrived to early and Shirley was cleaning up. The neighborhood is vey nice. There are a lot of little nice cafes and restaurants, also lots of "Delis" etc.
It is easy to get to Manhattan, the subway station is just one block away. We had a great time.
During our stay, we got a couple of interesting tips from Shirley especially when we planned our trip thru Brooklyn.
We loved our stay at Shirley's apartment in Brooklyn. Shirley was warm and welcoming. The apartment is only one block from the subway, grocery store on the corner, and a wonderful church nearby. The perfect peaceful oasis after a day of touring in the big city.
We had a great time staying at Shirley's. It's a beautiful appartment and it's spotlessly clean and quiet with all your basic needs. There is a lot to do in the neighbourhood and subway is nearby.
Shirley is a very good host and we could leave our luggage after check-out and she arranged a taxi for the airport.
Shirley & her husband were welcoming & waiting for us when we arrived. the ground level unit is as described - quiet, clean & neat. We enjoyed it very much. If you're uber-sensitive, you might notice the faint rumble of the subway beneath. Two G Line subway stops are 1-1/2 blocks away in both directions. Diverse neighborhood with nearby groceries, a cafe, two restaurants & churches.
Shirley's apartment is cute, clean and cozy; a terrific place to unwind after visiting busy Manhattan. My friends and I took the subway as well as used cabs during our visit. Nothing was too remote or expensive for either mode of transportation. Bonus - there's a grocery store and awesome coffee shop right down the street. All three of us, none of whom had stayed in an Airbnb previously, were completely delighted and pleased with our stay.
