Happy to share information about island sights and must do's.
I love being so close to town and the water. Park the car and walk, bike, or bus around the island! Better yet, eliminate the ferry hassle and don't even bring the car. Bike or walk-on the ferry and ride bus to Eastsound.
The island has a bus in summer. :) There is also rental car and taxi service.
Free wi-fi. Small dog(s) on leash okay.
Free wi-fi. Fire pit for wiener roasts and marshmallows.
Interaction with Guests
I enjoy meeting my guests, introducing them to the space, and helping them plan their activities on the island.
I love being so close to town! In just a 10-minute walk, I am at the beach, the grocery, the farmers' market, the library, the PO, bank, shops and restaurants. I love not having to get in a car to take care of my basic needs.
In summer, there is a bus from the ferry that also goes to other parts of the island. You can rent bikes, a car, or use taxi service as well.
Other Things to Note
Orcas is a beautiful island with friendly people. If you love mountains, the sea, farms, and a charming, small-town culture, you will love it here.

Our stay was amazing! The garden hut is so adorable and surrounded by many beautiful flowers and vegetables. The outdoor kitchen was fantastic. Margaret is super friendly and so much fun to visit with. Everything is right about this place and we could go on and on. This is one of our favorite places that we have ever stayed! You will love the chickens, the fresh air, Margaret's hospitality, the comfort of the garden hut and of course, Orcas Island. We look forward to going back .
Margaret is as sweet as her cozy little spaces (she is a hugger too). We really enjoyed sharing her space and some time with her and we recommend this to anyone with a desire to stay in a tucked away nature setting just a few minutes drive from the "action" of East Sound/Prune Alley. She shared breakfast cookies (yummmm), sugar and Silk (for our coffee). We love you and your place Margaret. David and Mariann
Garden Huts is a charming setting amid beautiful, whimsical gardens. The bedrooms are quaint, colorful, and inviting, and Margaret is a warm, delightful host. One of the members of our group had to be coaxed out to explore the island. She loved her cabin and the beautiful gardens so much, she just wanted to relax there all day. We saw the garden in September, but would love to see it at other times of year. A big thanks to Margaret and family for hosting us!
The best part of our stay on Orcas Island was staying at Margaret's enchanting garden house. We stayed in the little blue house called "the nest." We woke up to the sounds of chickens clucking, cooked in the outdoor kitchen and poked around her garden. The space is rustic but elegant...simply fabulous!! Can't recommend this place enough!! We plan to go back and stay with M next summer as well!!!!
The Garden Huts were even more charming and beautiful than we had hoped or imagined. The accommodations were extremely comfortable, cozy and welcoming. Margaret was so thoughtful with her preparations and generous with her local knowledge. Just a short and lovely walk to Eastsound, yet totally secluded in a magical garden. We would go back in a heartbeat and would't consider staying anywhere else.
We loved our stay at "Camp Margaret." Our bedroom hut was adorable and the bed was very comfy! The bathroom hut was clean. The kitchen hut was very cute but we didn't get a chance to use it. Our stay was too short! Would definitely go back again!
Margaret was a great hostess, very warm and welcoming. Highly recommend this Air BnB!
Margaret makes the space very welcoming and homey. She adds nice touches like fresh cut flowers in pretty jars and decorates with simple but beautiful things. Everything was very clean, including the outdoor kitchen where she provides ample things to use. Again, very clean.
The space has a private feel. We were the only guest there. It is an easy walk into town to shop and get food or drinks.
