The space

Case Kaeli is a beautiful private home located just above the beach at Playa El Tizate, between the popular villages of La Cruz & Bucerias, Nayarit… just 25 minutes north of the Puerto Vallarta airport.

This casually stunning Pacific Mexico Contemporary/rustic home is both comfortable & beautiful. It was designed especially with tropical relaxation and easy entertaining in mind.

Case Kaeli's "jewel" is her wonderful infiniti pool, where most guests spend MUCH of their day. Just a handful of steps lead from the pool to a small gray yard, and then to the beach below,

Casa Kaeli's interior features:

ENTERTAINER'S KITCHEN/DINING ~ With a gorgeous slab granite island & tropical hardwoods custom kitchen, telescoping glass doors that open the great room & kitchen to the oceanfront dining/grill terrace. Morning coffee & evening entertaining doesn't get better than this!

An oversized JennAire gas grill, beautiful Primavera hardwoods , natural stone & stained concrete floor finishes with tropical palapa frond roofs. Beautiful serve ware and plenty of cookware, along with all usual appliances and kitchen linens.

The open-air dining features a large antique mesquite table with seating for 8 - 10, & additional lounging furniture for enjoying the views of the Bay of Banderas and the pool and beach below.

INFINITI POOL ~ A large, sparkling private infiniti pool hangs just above beach and the Bay of Banderas. This is a relatively private & quiet area of homes, with not a lot of activity in front. Submerged ledges in the pool design provide places for smaller children to be in shallow water, as well as nice seating for everyone in the pool.

A lovely master suite is located on the main floor, with two guest rooms & bath on the pool level below (both open to a shared terrace at the pool's edge!) All bedrooms have king sized beds and air conditioning.

A romantic studio suite, a second master, on the upper level is TOTALLY PRIVATE from the rest of the house! You can't even see it when looking back up from the pool, beach or dining terrace. Featuring a gauzy canopied king bed, sitting area, kitchenette & cool tropical bath w/oceanview from the shower... all under a dramatic soaring palapa (palm thatched) roof! A large ocean terrace completes this special suite. This suite is included when renting the house for more than 6 people, or you may ask the owner to add it to any rental for an additional $75/nt.

The wonderful views and sunrises, white-hot sunny days, and balmy romantic nights make this location very special and memorable. If you're looking to relax as you enjoy authentic coastal Mexico, you will LOVE Casa Kaeli.

This place is spectacular. We stayed for my wife's 40th birthday for 5nights and it was the most relaxing spot to just sleep, swim and eat. The views are just awesome. Few highlights: We had a couple of paddle boards delivered, and it was easy to just get into the water from the beach and go right out. We also did sunrise yoga as there is enough room on the main floor for this. (Note you don't see the sunset fully from this location but if you're an early riser this is not as issue!) A car is highly recommended to get groceries etc. And the main store is 7-10mins drive away. The chef was delicious food and I would def recommend! All in all a lovely time was had and I would definitely come back! Thanks Susan!!!

Our family absolutely loved staying in this beachfront casa. It was so roomy for our family of 6 and the location was perfect for us. We loved the beautiful pool and the views from there and the upper deck. The short walk down to the beach was no problem for us as we did not have small children with us. The only recommendations I would make is if you are coming on an off-season not all of the restaurants are open throughout the year. Also I would like to see a few pool and ocean toys (boogie boards, snorkeling gear, floating rafts) available to the guests. We were able to find what we needed and thoroughly loved our time there. Can't wait to go back!!

We had a fantastic stay in Casa Kaeli. We loved the view from the terrace, having your breakfast everyday with the view of the bay was fantastic. The house is spacious, the rooms are comfortable and 3 of the bedrooms are outside the main area of the house which gives you privacy. The beach is rocky so not great to get in but just 5 min walking (on rocks) you can find a very nice calm beach. We hired a lady who cooked for us recommended by Susan, she cooked great and she was very nice. We recommend to have a car to go to restaurants and beaches around the area if you like surfing like us you would be happy as you can reach so great waves around the area if you have a car, or you can just stay and relax in the swimming pool :) - All in all it was a fantastic stay - we highly recommend it and we would be really happy to be back in the future.

Response from Susan:
thank you for taking the time to mention the things that were problems for you, we do try to keep up with things in our houses. I suspect that the party before you (people vacated just before your arrival, as you know) had gone AGAINST our house rules and smoked in the bedroom downstairs! I have never detected smoke smells in Casa Kaeli, but that is because people aren't supposed to smoke there, and most do follow the rule. So sorry this occurred. As of felix's attitude, I again apologize and don't know why she wa less than accommodating to you. It sounds like she did not put out the newer towels (as I always tell her to, and NOT to "save" them for what she feels are special times! She tells me she will/does, but of course when I am in the States unfortunately I have no way of controlling such.) Same with kitchen equip. It is true that there have been a number of nationals renting the houses since May, however when I left in April we had put several new pots & pans, etc in the houses. It is something we do ofter, but I know that some renters are hard on things! I had a property manager in the house in early July to check on things, get new pool chaises etc, so I had thought everything was in order. I am sorry. At times I notice Feliz misses things also, but to me she is very apologetic and says maybe she is getting old. On the other hand, she has worked for us for a long time and she insists that it's not too much for her. I will try to address these things with her again this fall, and thank you again for the comments. I should also mention that the stops down to the beach were built 1 year ago! Everything just weathers SO fast there!!! The beach is sometimes very sandy, and other years rocky in front. "Mother Nature" has her way.... best regards to you Pavel.

The host was very thorough and responsive in all communications. Everything was easy and as expected. No hiccups, no difficulties, no issues whatsoever with the house or Sue.

Response from Susan:
Thank you Evan, for all your comments! As for kitchen equipment, I will ask that they are gone through again. We did purchase some new cookware pieces, toaster etc in March, but the combination of the fact that those items available there are generally not the best quality, heavy usage as well as how hard the tropics & hard water are on things does make a bit of a challenge. We will try to improve this, and do appreciate your pointing it out to us as we have not been there since March.

As described. Place was clean, spacious and quiet. Frankly, couldn't ask for a better spot for what we were looking for. La Cruz restaurants and the fish market were walkable on the beach but I would recommend having a car to access grocery and get to Bucerios, Punta Mita or Sayulita. All within 20 minutes or so. Communication with Susan was great and she was very responsive. The cleaning crew (home and pool) were overly friendly and accommodating. If looking for a quiet retreat but close to amenities... highly recommended.

We had a great stay at Casa Kaeli! The view from the house with the mountains and Bay of Banderas as a backdrop is unbelievably beautiful. I definitely recommend getting a local cook to come prepare a meal at the house, which Susan helped us arrange. The house is easy driving distance from La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Bucerias, Punta de Mita, and Sayulita, which all have great restaurants and each a slightly different feel. If you're looking for a stay in a peaceful area near Puerto Vallarta, it's hard to beat this house.

Where to start, loved this listing so much. Our party of 8 + a one year old fit perfectly in Susan's casa. The pool is such a plus. The kitchen is great for cooking large meals. The housekeeper was an absolute treat, we loved interacting with her. The photos don't do the place justice. Watching the sunrise each morning...another huge plus. Our friends said the Papaya suite is a bit warm without A/C at night but they adjusted. All in all, 5 stars!

Response from Susan:
Thanks for your very nice review, Chele, it was our pleasure to host you at Casa Kaeli! It's been the warmest, muggy-ist Nov/early Dec in 20 years; the nature of palapa roofs makes it not possible for a/c to function properly under them so unfortunately if it's a hot month, it can stay warm at night up there. For anyone planning a trip down, generally the weather feels about perfect from late Nov - May. Summers & fall can be pretty hot/humid (too much so for my Pacific NW self!) Thanks for giving our casa, and housekeeper, a great rating, and Happy Holidays!
