Bents Farm is a traditional farmhouse perfectly situated on the edge of the Peak District. On the door step are beautiful footpaths, bridleways, and rural lanes ideal for walking & cycling. Well situated for visiting Sheffield, only 15 minutes away.
This is a traditional nineteenth century farmhouse, with many beautiful original features, recently renovated throughout. We offer Monday and Friday changeover, with a 3 night minimum stay.
Two real fires (one open, one log burner), with logs provided with our compliments. Full bathroom and kitchen facilities including washer-dryer, dishwasher, oven, hob, microwave. Garden and patio shared with one other property.
Interaction with Guests
Guests are entirely independent - this is a self contained property.
We are in a beautiful, rural location, on the edge of the Peak District National Park. There are some wonderful country pubs only minutes away. It's a perfect base for walking, bike riding, or exploring the Peak District. But we are also well placed for access to Sheffield - it's only 15 minutes' drive away, so perfectly possible if you are visiting relatives or have work commitments in Sheffield.
There are two parking spaces with the property on private land. Further cars can be parked on the nearby lane. There is a major bus route that comes within 10 minutes' walk, and a train station within half an hours' walk, so public transport is an option.
Other Things to Note
We offer a Monday or Friday changeover, with a minimum 3 night stay during the weekend and 4 day during the week.
Bents Farm is in a quiet, peaceful location, and we do expect guests to respect this. Bents Farm is strictly no smoking. We do not, as a rule, allow pets, though will consider each case on its own merits, so long as a surcharge is paid to ensure that the whole property is thoroughly cleaned after usage.
Absolutely lovely cottage, perfect for a country retreat.
Great location on the edge of the Peak District. Would definitely recommend.
We had a lovely time staying at Bents farm, the cottage is perfectly located and I would definitely stay again.
There were some lovely touches that made us feel very welcome,
I was particularly happy about the marshmallows by the fire! : )
We enjoyed staying in and cooking from the excellently equipped Kitchen as well as heading over to the Cricket Inn, a stones throw from the cottage - excellent cosy atmosphere and top notch food.
I would definitely return and would recommend to friends who are planning on visiting the Peak District.
Many thanks Kim for your hospitality!
A lovely cottage in a lovely location. Beautifully decorated and very clean. Close to Sheffield but had the feel of being in the country with a great village pub within walking distance. Kim made us very welcome with the basket of treats left for us! She was also very helpful and understanding when we struggled to get into the cottage upon arrival because we hadn't read the instructions properly! And also when we left and accidentally took a key with us! Hoping to come back soon!
My friends and I have just got back from a long weekend and there is nothing to say other than how amazing this place is. It was like home from home and Kim and Mark had gone out of their way to make us feel welcome. They provided detailed information about walks, the local pubs, and provided a well-needed bottle of Prossecco after a long drive. Kim popped round to make sure we were ok and had everything we needed which was also lovely. Can't fault it at all and would definitely go back and stay hundred times over. Thanks Kim and Mark!
We have just spent a fabulous weekend in this most delightful of cottages. The house was immaculately clean and very well equipped. We really appreciated the little extra touches....cookies, crisps and Prosecco.
The house was ideally located for access to some great walking and was a perfect haven at the end of a long day walking.
We could not fault this property and would recommend wholeheartedly!
The reservation was canceled 10 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Our hosts were very friendly and our visit went very smoothly. The beds were excellent, the house well equipped and sunny. The location was very pretty and quiet. We loved going down to the Cricket Pub for a drink in the afternoons. It was well located for walking in the Peak District and visiting stately homes nearby.

We are a family with two kids, loving our new rural life at Bents Farm. We're excited to welcome guests to the Farmhouse, and hope that you'll love the farm and surrounding area as much as we do.
