The place was absolute magical! Quiet, lovely interior and a very romantic vibe. Placed right by a little river and rice fields. We got to meet Tamarra and Paul briefly and they where super lovely. The staff was really welcoming and helpful, they also made sure our anniversary was perfect. We got to order exactly what we wanted for dinner and the chef was amazing. We can't wait to come back very soon :-) Highly recommend staying here!

You couldn't call this a place , its a coordination of an inner world , it's like a choice to experience rather than a room to book , would you like to share love life thoughts kindness philosophy, what ever in you deeply or superficially ,then your invited , your left free all the time thinking it's better off secluded then when you just sit indulge with Tamarra and Paul and Gede you click , just ask for anything and it's possible we had one of the best dinner together/birthday cake ever made to perfection and shared with love and laughter and purity for my wife's birthday , Studios writer is amazing but they've also got a hidden gem behind it , a huge huge lovely designed villa I could keep on saying like others on how they helped in that and the room and location but when your there, there is a bigger thing to feel ,it's undescribable Thanks for destiny bringing us to together Thanks for the amazing stay and talks Paul the great and the amazing Tamarra The saviour multitalented superman Gede And the amazing girls Love you ma Sent from my iPhone

The studio was a gorgeous space and a great getaway for myself and my girlfriend, who live in Bali (Canggu), but really appreciate staying in gorgeous and interesting places in Bali. It was so peaceful there and Tamarra and Paul are wonderful hosts and both very interesting people. So we had a great time and would definitely consider going back there.

Well, we arrived at Villa Uma Anyar after staying at another pretty swish place that was going to be hard to beat and what can I say, we immediately felt we'd come home. The greeting on arrival from the manager Gede was so friendly yet professional, and when we walked into the studio we instantly relaxed. A mix of Mexican and kind of French provincial, the studio is better than the photos show, because they cannot show the most spectacular river setting and jungle surrounds. The writer's studio is just that, I could entirely imagine sitting by the window looking out over the river, penning my first Pulitzer! It would have to be a Pulitzer because the view and surrounds there are almost fantastic, like something out of The jungle book and Mowgli wouldn't be out of place walking past either. The studio is kind of an L-shape which was far more cosy feeling than the usual boxy, rectangular pretty much stock standard 'bale' style you used to get across the board in Balinese homestays. The warmth and prettiness of the colours in the studio draw you in straightaway. There is romance there, but there is also a kind of strength and style as well, from Bruegel the elder style paintings to one of Frida Kahlo, one can only say that the space is enchanting and eclectic, which even my rather particular 16yr old daughter described it as. Amazingly she loved the studio the best of the six places we stayed at on our mother - daughter trip to Bali this time and there was one pretty luxurious one on all accounts. The bathroom was lovely, kind of 'Hobbit' housey, with a very practical pebble cobbled floor, two good shower heads AND outstandingly NO mould to be seen. The bathroom has a panel of windows (all with lovely little Roman blinds), upon which you can gaze out at the river or not. The bamboo swing doors on the toilet were a good idea too. The little kitchenette was such a succinct, inspired little area, having everything you need to make yourself a cuppa or even a glass of red from the homemade bottle of red wine in the fridge for your partaking at night after a long day of sightseeing. There is such a sweet little kettle provided and even French hand painted cups and saucers, the have a fridge too with mini bar items reasonably priced. Love love love. The staff are lovely but like will o the wisps only appearing if you need them. Even the gardener smiles and wishes you 'good morning' ! This whimsical, Lewis Carroll abode and surrounds should surely not be discovered by anyone but you, the discerning traveller and me when I want to return. . . Gede the manager (who manages) goes out of his way to literally make you feel at home and to make your stay really special in any sense of the word. As do the staff and hosts.
