We are located in a small rural Balinese village where we greet the Balinese on a daily basis. The village does not have a through street and is located far enough off the main roads so that it has little traffic and is quiet. The village is surrounded by rice fields where you can take some leisurely walks and you will see ducks, chickens and cows.
There are four drivers in our village who can provide you with transportation to and from the airport, Ubud and around Bali. Airport pick up or drop off is Rp 300.000, one way to or from Ubud is Rp 70.000. Excursions around Bali are negotiable. Motor bikes can be rented for Rp 50.000 per day.
Other Things to Note
We are near a painting village, a yoga retreat (Purnati) , the Bali Bird Park and the Bali Zoo.
Non-smoking, no pets. Please limit your use of candles. Maximum occupancy two persons.
we LOVED our time here! i would highly recommend it over a place that's in the middle of busy ubud. it's extremely peaceful and away from the crowds yet you can easily access ubud via motorbike or a driver. we chose motorbike and paul and tamarra got one to us within about 15 minutes of arriving (about $US4.50/day). it's a fun ride to ubud so we drove up for dinner one night, coffee/shopping another day, and the third day we took about a 30 minute motorbike drive to the rice terraces in tegallalang. however, most of the days, we really just wanted to enjoy our time in and around our studio. it's a really lovely setting with a ton of character - we found ourselves much preferring it over ubud.
a delicious breakfast is provided, small/affordable lunch selection, EXTREMELY delicious dinner options at a very reasonable price cooked fresh by the loveliest staff imaginable. paul and tamarra are extremely kind, generous, open-hearted people who will make you feel like family. you won't regret staying here!
we want to say thank you for welcoming us in such a warm and kind way as nowhere before. U are a great family!!! and we re looking forward to see you in Kiev any time you wish
I had the most amazing stay. The studio was huge with everything you could need. It was so peaceful & relaxing staying right on the river! All the windows open up all along the river side, to keep it cool all day. The staff were all so kind & helpful, not mention amazing cooks! Breakfast everyday was delicious, and I ordered an amazing Balinese feast one night!
It was about 15mins out of town, which was exactly what I wanted! Just hired a scooter to get around, though you could just as easily get a driver.
I would recommend to anyone visiting beautiful Ubud!
We absolutely loved our stay with Tamarra and Paul. They are the most generous hosts and the studio is just perfect, right out of a fairy tale. Just sorry we had to leave (but we will be back)
A truly amazing and gorgous place to have a holiday, quiet, clean, beautifully styled, super friendly hosts and staff and top food. Highly recommended. We will be back!
Tamarra and Paul were incredibly helpful, even before we checked in. They emailed directions and Paul was there to welcome and showed us to the bungalow when we arrived. The bungalow is just beautiful. Beyond what I was expecting. We had everything we needed for a few days away. The bungalow has the best shower I've used anywhere in Bali, even better than the 5 star hotels.
The property is surrounded by beautiful rice paddies and lovely gardens. We were blown away, the images really don't do it justice. Made and Wayan cook beautiful breakfasts and dinners and we felt super spoilt while we were there.
We had a cracker dinner with Tamarra and Paul on our last night and made some awesome new friends. Thank you so much for one of our best airbnb experiences, look forward to seeing you both again very soon.

Tamarra and Paul are wonderful hosts. The Studio was exactly what we were looking for, secluded and away from the Ubud noise, yet close enough to ride into Ubud for the day.
It was easy to get to, once we had the GPS coordinates.
Their staff does an amazing job, and the atmosphere of the entire grounds is just magical. We enjoyed great conversations and good laughs with Tamarra and Paul, and peaceful moments in the studio and the surrounding area. We will be back for another dinner and talk!

Tamarra and Paul are a retired couple from the US. Tamarra is a photographer and writer who writes book reviews ( under the pen name - Uma Anyar ) for The Ubud Writers and Readers Festival column in The Bali Avertiser and film reviews for Inspired Bali magazine. She has published the book, Ogoh-Ogoh: Balinese Monsters about the humongus paper mache sculptures which are paraded and burned on the eve of Nyepi, the Balinese New Year. Tamarra is responsible for the wonderful decorations and design of our villa and the guest houses. Paul is a retired chemist who makes tasty wine and loves Bali's environment for hiking, bird watching and musing on the state of things. They are confirmed film addicts with no desire for rehabilitation. Tamarra and Paul love their adopted island and their three dogs and enjoy sharing their version of paradise with guests from all over the world.
