About this listing
This 1BD + futon, full BA apartment is in a quiet residential neighborhood convenient to reach by car or public transport. Walk to Green Lake or local eateries/shops, access downtown quickly, and experience all the Emerald City has to offer!
Cozy bedroom with queen bed, dresser, and flat topped trunk for use as a luggage rack. Just outside the bedroom is a closet where you can hang clothes.
This newly renovated apartment with a full bath, living and dining room, kitchenette, wifi and private entrance is the perfect base for your Seattle visit.
The bedroom is fitted with a new queen bed, soft linens, plush pillows and your preference of a comfy down or standard comforter.
The living room space has a new high-end futon that can sleep one additional person, as well as a 32 inch LCD TV, cable and a DVD/Blueray player. There is also a selection of movies for your viewing pleasure. The Wifi is accessible from all rooms.
The full bathroom has heated floors to warm those toes in the morning, and will be outfitted with all the amenities of home such as a hair dryer, soap, shampoo, conditioner, q-tips, cotton balls, a magnifying make-up mirror and shaving cream. There are even robes behind the door.
The kitchenette has a full set of dishes, silverware and mugs, a microwave, dorm-size fridge, coffee maker and hot water kettle. Waiting for you will be water, juice, fruit, coffee, and a variety of tea bags to get your morning started off on the right foot (but I would highly recommend walking the 1.5 blocks to Greenwood Avenue and visiting one of the local coffee shops instead!)
Feel free to enjoy the backyard deck on a sunny day!
Guests have a private entrance. Check-in access is available at any time of day.
The shared laundry room is available for your use. For short term stays, we plan to arrange our laundry days so we do not need to use it while guests are in the suite, but in an emergency advance notice will be provided so your privacy is ensured. For stays over a week, we will be sure to discuss with you a convenient time for us to access the laundry.
Interaction with Guests
We live upstairs on the main floor, but are not home during the day and in the evenings are either out enjoying the amenities of this beautiful city, or spending a quiet evening at home. You can contact us by cell phone if you need anything. If you like privacy, due to your private entrance it is likely we can both come and go without running into each other. Or if you prefer, we'd love to help you explore this town and find interesting things to do and places to eat. There's never a shortage of things to do or places to eat in Seattle!
The Phinneywood (north Phinney/south Greenwood) neighborhood is a safe, quiet, eclectic locale that is a few minute walk to the cherished Greenlake Park. With it's miles of walking/running paths, it is a outdoor lover's dream. You may encounter ducks, frogs, geese and herons as you traverse either the paved path around the lake, or the unpaved paths in the park. Other available activities/amenities in the park include swimming, boat rentals, miniature golf, a children's playground, basketball courts, bike rentals, roller blading, fishing, tennis, and a skateboard park. 1.5 blocks away from our home is Greenwood Avenue with block after block of local coffee shops, pubs, restaurants, antique shops, a local market, boutiques, privately owned bookstores and drop-in friendly exercise classes.
Phinney is very convenient to access by car from both I5 and Highway 99. There is plenty of free street parking, and a trip downtown will take 10 minutes by car. For folks without a car, the wifi outfitted and brand new Rapid Ride E line is 2 blocks away and will get you downtown in about 15 minutes. The nearby Greenwood Avenue has stops for the north/south #5 bus (this bus will also get you downtown in about 15 minutes) that connects with transfers to go east and west. To get here from the airport without a car, your options are as follows: (1) train/bus: 1 hour, about $6 total per person, including $3 for train (can be paid with credit/debit card or cash using a machine), $2.50 off-peak/$2.75 peak (6-9 am, 3-6 pm) for bus (need exact change) (2) Shuttle Express: probably about 30 minute wait at airport, about 30-60 minute drive depending on how many stops they make, $38 for your party (3) Uber: not sure how much it is as I haven't taken it, 25 minute drive without traffic (4) Taxi: $55, 25 minute drive without traffic. If you intend to use the bus while you are here, I have bus cards you can borrow - you can walk to the supermarket and load money on it so you do not have to have exact change every time you use bus.
For guest traveling from Portland or Vancouver by bus, there is regional express bus that is an option to Greyhound. (website hidden) "Bolt Bus Seattle" to check it out.
Other Things to Note
Check-in/out during the week is mostly at your convenience as check-in and check-out are generally not accepted for the same day. I will let you know if there is a conflict.
On the weekend it is flexible depending on if the suite is booked before or after your stay as we need time to clean between guests. Thank you in advance for your flexibility.
Please note ceilings are lower than typical. If you are tall, the top of you head will be brushing against the ceiling in the bedroom with 6' 3" ceiling height, and you will need to duck when you are entering downstairs and in two locations where the ceiling is dropped for ducts (just under 6' ceiling height).
*** Please no overnight guests unless discussed first.
*** Apologies, but no pets are allowed in the suite.
*** Apologies again, but no smoking is allowed in the suite or on the property.
*** No candles can be used inside the apartment.
*** Please remove shoes before walking on rugs/carpet.
*** Because we have to be up early, request guests who consider after 10 pm to be quiet time. No issue with coming and going after 10 pm, just no loud music and consideration when entering/leaving and closing doors would be appreciated. We will do the same.
Other than that, the only expectations are for you to relax and enjoy your time here in the Emerald City!
Stephanie was a wonderful hostss,
she made me feel right at home. Her suite was spotless. Cozy and comfortabl with nice touches of luxury. My granddaughter described the futon bed as heavenly. And the Bed was so comfortable I got the best sleep. Stephanie thinks of everything you might need, before you need it. The neighborhood is friendly and safe for walking to shops and coffee houses. I will book here again on all my future visits, if possible. Thank you so much, Stephanie.
Super séjour à cozy suite. Appartement très propre et refait à neuf. Avec toute les commodités. Quartier très calme et de la place dans la rue pour garer sa voiture. On a pas vu beaucoup notre hôte mais nous étions aussi absents toute la journée. A recommander.
We loved our stay in this well appointed and comfortable suite. It was an easy uphill walk to cafes, shopping and two bus lines into downtown. The host lives above the suite and is helpful and gracious.
Stephanie's Suite was incredibly beautiful and neat. We were able to find it very easily and it was super close to everything by car. She checked in on us to make sure everything was ok and really helped us feel at home. The neighborhood was quiet and had lots of places to eat and shop for food. Thanks!
Stephanie was great! very friendly and has a wealth of information for Seattle. The location is in a quiet neighborhood with good parking. Full amenities with great privacy. location was good as it was only 20 minutes from downtown Seattle.
Stephanie's space is very clean and comfortable. She left us many mini notes including neighborhood shopping/dining, bus information (with bus card which was very useful), etc. As non-frequent Seattle visitors, the notes were very useful. Stephanie's is in a very quiet neighborhood, but very easy to get to downtown area --- 7 min easy walk and a direct line to downtown. Stephanie was very easy to communicate with , quick in response. Thank you, Stephanie, for sharing your space with us.
You are so sweet, Iris. My goodness, you didn't have to worry about emptying the trash - cleaning up after my guests is my responsibility! This is not the first time I've had guests think they have responsibility to remove trash, so for future guests, please enjoy the space and leave the cleaning to me! I loved how you added your name to my map both for what I assume is your current home state and your birth country - got two continents covered with one guest. Thank you for reminding me of what airbnb is all about - creating global connections between strangers!
The basement apartment was indeed as advertised, cozy, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was very nice, and the bed quite comfortable. Specific guidance, details and travel/food suggestions are provided throughout the suite. This is a great location, with 3 short blocks walk to the RapidLine bus directly into Pikes Market/Downtown via express bus lanes...way easier than driving. Parking on the street was always available. Seattle recycling rules are a bit confusing, but ample directions are provided for sorting and disposition. Stephanie provided great advice, and remained in the background unless needed. She responded immediately via airbnb emails with a few inquiries. More than ample room for 2 people. Clothes Washer and Dryer were very, very useful for washing hiking gear. Will stay here again, if I come to Seattle in the future.
