About This Listing
Warm and comfortable, this room is located in the heart of West Los Angeles, close to UCLA, close to Santa Monica, close to the 405, close to everything!
Enjoy a private full bath and access to my well-equipped kitchen and living room. W/D also avail
It's a large bedroom in a large apartment, so there will be plenty of room for you to make yourself comfortable. The bed sleeps two easily, and I have an air mattress that I can lend you that would be suitable for kids (there really isn't enough space for another adult, though.)
My sister is an interior designer and she is in the process of helping me get everything nice and tidy! The bedroom in question is pretty much finished, so in addition to being spacious, all the furnishings and appointments are relatively new.
The bathroom has a full-sized vanity with plenty of counter top space as well as drawer, cabinet and medicine cabinet space. It features a shower/tub for all of your bathing needs!
You'll also have a dresser at your disposal, and I can make space in the closet for you as well. Also, there is storage space under the bed in the form of drawers. Linens are provided.
You will have access to other areas of my apartment as well. You're welcome to use my living room, kitchen and dining area as well. I have an HDTV and Blu Ray player that I'd be happy to show you how to use, too. Off the living room there is a wet bar and a powder room that you're welcome to utilize as well.
There is a washer/dryer in the unit at your disposal, and you're welcome to any cooking/eating utensils that I have. All I ask is that you clean up afterward or at least make sure whatever you've used is rinsed off and put in the dishwasher.
There is a pool in the building and a small gym to which you will have access. Full disclosure - they're not gangbusters, but you're more than welcome to them.
Parking-wise, there always seems to be a lot of spaces on the street, and not a lot of restrictions so I don't expect you'd have any problems with making a daily practice of street parking.
Interaction with Guests
I'm a very friendly, social type of guy, and I'd be happy to answer any questions and make oodles of recommendations to fit all your needs. You'll find me to be very engaging and eager to make sure that you have a good stay in Westwood!
I do work during the day, so I'd generally be gone from 9am until 7pm or so, but I can be reached by phone or text at any time. Weekends run in both directions for me. Sometimes I'm around the house a lot, sometimes I'm gone nearly all the time. But like I said, it's a large apartment and privacy when all parties are home would not be an issue.
Westwood is a very quiet neighborhood, but at the same time it's close to all the hustle and bustle of the west side of Los Angeles. Westwood is situated between Bel Air, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills and Century City, and is basically a neighborhood that grew up around the campus of UCLA.
My apartment is within walking distance of Westwood Village which boasts all sorts of shopping and dining experiences. Also close by is the Hammer Museum, a haven of modern art with free admission to all.
If you have a car, you're twenty minutes from Hollywood, the San Fernando Valley, the beach, and the airport (all assuming no/little traffic of course!) Also, you're ten minutes away from Beverly Hills if shopping is your thing. As always, I'm happy to give you directions and the best routes to any place you have as a destination.
Street parking is generally very available at any time of day. There are no restrictions on Wilkins aside from street cleaning on Thursdays and Fridays. I'd expect that you'll usually be able to find space in front of the building, and I'd be surprised if you had to park more than a block away.
Both Wilshire Blvd. and Santa Monica Blvd. are walking distance from the apartment, and there are bus stops a block away from where my street meets both of those Boulevards. I'd expect you could make it down to either bus stop in about ten minutes with little trouble. The Metro hasn't made it out to my neighborhood yet, but stations are accessible via bus routes of course.
To get here from LAX, you want to take the 405N to the Santa Monica Blvd. exit (just past the 10 freeway.) Turn right on Santa Monica Blvd. and take the first left past Overland Ave. onto a street called Manning Avenue. You can't miss Overland, it dead ends into the Mormon Temple which you won't miss seeing. My building is right on the southeast corner of Wilkins Ave. and Manning Ave.
Pretty simple, I'm a respectful person and if you are as well, then we'd have no problems. I'm a very easy-going, generous person and respond well to requests made politely. I want you to feel comfortable here and enjoy your stay!
I'm allergic to cat and dog fur, so I do have to say no to pets, unless you like traveling with your goldfish.
I'm not a smoker myself, but it doesn't bother me if you are. The only thing I'd ask you to do is enjoy your cigarettes outside. I have a pair of balconies off the living room that you are welcome to use, so you don't even have to go far.
Due to an unexpected reason, Andrew couldn't let us stay at his flat this time. But Andrew booked a boutique hotel near his flat for us and paid all the room rate. Although it was a little inconvenient to stay in a hotel without laundry service, we still enjoyed our stay in LA.
Nice place to stay, nice guitars... High quality taste host
We had a comfortable stay at Andrew's place. He was welcoming, helpful and we were very appreciative!! Would definitely recommend staying at Andrew's place.
Thanks! Jen & James.
Great location, great place. Wonderfully clean, homey accommodations and an accessible, generous host. Thanks, Andrew.
Andrew was very prompt in being in touch with me when I had questions from the get-go, and was very accommodating. The pictures are a very accurate representation of the room and apartment. Andrew had helpful instructions and information available when I checked in, and was always available during my stay to help me when I needed assistance.
