About this listing
My charming and quaint terraced house is located just 15 minutes from Dublin City Centre. Its within walking distance of Kilmainham Gaol, The War Memorial Park, The Phoenix Park and the Irish Museum of Modern Art. The perfect base for any visitors
Céad míle fáilte. Welcome to my home. Its a Victorian red brick 2 bedroom terraced house. As the title suggests, its not a very large house but it sure is home. My guest room is a sunny south facing room with hardwood floor, comfy single bed and the perfect spot to rest your head after a day of exploring in Dublin
To get to my house from the airport you need to take a bus to the city centre. Either the Aircoach or 747 (Run by Dublin Bus) will take you straight in in about 20mins and costs €6 one way. Then you need to get a 79, 79A or 40 bus to my house. They run regularly from the city centre to my house and the cost is €2.35. Or you can get a taxi straight from the airport for about €20-€25
Guests have full access to my home. Including access to the living room, full use of the kitchen and of course the bathroom.
Interaction with guests
As you have probably guessed I live here, however as I work in a theatre I work quite irregular hours but I am home every evening. Ill do my best to be there in person to welcome you to my home but if not I have plenty of stand ins to take my place
The neighbourhood I live in is a fantastic contradiction. It has the benefit of being just a 15 minute bus ride into the bustling and vibrant heart of Dublin but still remains a very quiet and settled little street. At the end of the street is a large park and GAA (our native sport) club. And in less than 10 minutes you can be in the War Memorial Park right on the banks of the Liffey
Public transport is a breeze. The bus stop is 2 minutes away and has various bus routes that bring you right in to the city centre in less than 15 minutes. Buses run up until 11.30 at night. But if you want to stay out later, a taxi home should only cost €10. There is free on street parking if you have a hire car. There are also Dublin Bikes which are for hire and there are plenty of stations close to my house. A great way to get about the city.
Buses go directly from the airport to the city centre where you can get the 40, 79 or 79A bus straight to my house
Other things to note
I work as an Event manager in a Theatre in Dublin. As such I have a good idea of many different cultural events happening around the city. I also work as a tour guide so have a great interest in the history of the city. I have been living in Dublin for over 12 years and love it very much. I can offer you an insight into the best places to go whether its a good restaurant, fun bar or interesting tourist attraction that's a little off the beaten track. There's much more to Dublin than Guinness ;o)
NB PLEASE NOTE THAT MY MINIMUM STAY IS TWO NIGHTS. DUE TO A WEBSITE ERROR I CAN NOT SET THIS SO THE MINIMUM STAY HAD TO BE SET AS 1 NIGHT. I AM TRYING TO GET THIS FIXED
I would expect everyone coming to my home to resepct it as much as they would their own home. I want people to feel comfortable and relaxed.
However, I don't smoke and don't allow smoking in the house
I would describe myself as a very open, talkative person. I like to meet new people and to talk about anything and everything to find out more about them. I love to be able to tell visitors to my home about what a fantastic city Dublin is and some of the many great places they can visit
